Received my first call today too. Of course I did not answer it. If it is from Fingerhut, I never ordered from them either. I hate these companies that run up your bill and minutes on a cell phone. Need to be stopped.

I have been getting calls from this number for several months now.  They call 3 times a day, yes, 3 times everyday.  I never, never answer.  I know this is a collection acct from over ten years ago. My cousin is a collector and she says there is absolutely nothing they can do, if the acct is over 7 years old.  They are just trying to scare people into paying something.  These types of debts are sold over and over again.  They are purchased for pennies of the original debt.  If they can get someone to pay even a little bit, that's profit anyway you look at it.  I know it is annoying, but just don't answer.  After a while, the calls will stop.  Of course, it will probably just be sold again, talking to them won't do you any good.  Even if it really isn't your debt, they don't care and they won't listen to you.  My advice........ just don't answer!!

They kept calling someone at our number.  They DON'T CARE that we are not the people they are calling.  WE OWE NOTHING AND NEVER HAVE!  Some people assume that because people get these obnoxious calls they are legitimate calls to collect a legitimate debt.  If you watched "20-20" about this, you will know a lot of them are scams and criminals that are hoping some poor sucker will send them something...like the Mardi Gras...."throw me some beads mista"..

We found a very simple solution for all annoyance calls. We did some research on telephones and went to Best Buy and purchased a Panasonic phone Model KX-TG9333 DECT 6.0. This model has three handsets but you can get the same model with one, two or three. It allows you to block up to 20 phone numbers as long as you have Caller ID. It rings once or twice then disconnects the call. The caller can't get through. The readout on the phone and the "missed call" list shows "Call Blocked".  It shows a very small  "x" in a box to the right of the call to show you that it has blocked that call.  Just make sure you let the phone ring once or twice to see if it's a blocked call or someone you want to talk to. WE LOVE IT!!!!

Here's a clue about how they get phone numbers.
On your credit reports usually they will list your phone number. The thing to do is to file a dispute re your personal info.
That will help keep these idiots from getting at least that info.

It does no good to tell these scumbags to stop calling. I am still getting calls for someone who had my number 5 years ago.

this number has called my home 4 times in less than two weeks asking for an individual that hasn't lived here in ages.  i've been at this current location since 2006 and have had the same number. i've told them time and time again that i am not the individual that they are looking for, nor have i ever even heard of this person...yet they continue to tell me to tell him to call them....how many times do you have to tell a company that you want your number removed off of their list before they finally do it!!

they never even stated their business w/ me, they just expressed how to get in touch w/ an individual that lived here before i came....the worst part is...i live in a dorm room!!

Just got a call from 775-412-4499 They wanted my exgirlfriend. Told them my name and that this was a prepaid cell phone I got a couple weeks ago. Told them I never heard of the girl. They were nice and removed it. You will NEVER win yelling at these low lifes. They just read off a chart. They love to fight on the phone. Just play dumb and lie. There are 8800 guys with my name in the usa. Odds are they will never find the right one anyway. Report them to the FCC on the second call. The FCC will mail you a letter. These people do not want a fight with the FCC.

I got a call with no message. I called them back, and they didn't even have the right person. I got an incredibly rude [***] named Andrea Hatter. She was yelling at me even tho I wasn't who they were looking for. The address wasn't even close. I was told they don't check the addresses against the phone numbers. What kind of business employes people who don't know how to use a phone book????  I have zero debt. I live alone, so it wasn't like I was covering up for anybody. She was just a nasty evil person. I guess she's so horrible because she doesn't have a real job.

Received a voice mail from these people today and looked it up online to try to figure out what it was all about. Since I don't owe anything, I called them back. They are a collection bureau. Surprisingly, the woman who answered my call, Rosie, was very pleasant. When I confirmed that I was not the person they were trying to reach, she told me she would remove my phone number from their records. Quite pleasant - first time I've ever experienced that with collection folks. I've gotten numerous wrong number calls in the past and one guy actually used our phone number on several credit cards that he later defaulted on, so we kept getting the phone calls for him.

Pretty bad when they call a collection lawyer's office such as this one and then threaten legal action against somebody who does not practice law under us. Plus we are looking into legal action with or without the state of Nevada's help now.

I just got an automated call from this number.  I did a google search and found that this is a collection agency.  My personal policy is to never deal with these agencies as they practice in predatory tactics, fraud and unethical behaviors.  I see that this is a call for a Fingerhut bill but I never ordered a thing from finger hut in my life.  My mother did and am wondering if they are trying to collect for her.  Since she passed away several years ago I have been getting calls like this in her name and my name.  Anyway the statue of limitations takes presidence on debt collection.

Going back to collection agencies my advice to everyone out there is NEVER deal with them.  If they call NEVER reveal or confirm your Identity otherwise the calls will never stop and you will be entered into a data base in which such predatory agencies buy and sell your information and will find old debts from your credit report that they will try and collect but will never pay your creditor.  Take into account that there is a statue of limitations on debts.  It is unwise to deal with any collection agency. They are looking to ruin and own your life.  They don't care about you.  They will only collect to cover their erroneous fees never crediting a cent to your debts.  They are not regulated and have lobbyists working in their favor.  Never deal with any Collection agency or you will be sorry.

These people keep calling me regarding some supposedly outstanding debt that is not mine. I explained to them that my identity was stolen and had a police report as well as a letter from the irs backing this up but yet they continue to harrass me said they did not care to see the documentaion and that I was lying. It is bad enough that i have been violated by some stranger who stole my identity I know have to put up with this unprofessional organization harrasing me. I do understand that they make thier money by how much they collect but have some common sense and maybe a little integrity. I f they can go home and sleep well at night i feel sorry for them and will defenitely pray for them

I keep getting calls from this number and they never leave a message. Just got a call this morning while I was on another important call.  So, of course, they didn't leave a message, but since I have caller ID,I called them back.  Got "Barbara" with First National Collections.  She was looking for someone whom I've never heard of.  When I told her she had the wrong #, she tried to probe me for add'l info.  I just told her to stop calling here.

These folks have been calling me for years, about some debt I never heard of and they actually turned it over to a lawyer. I wrote to the lawyer and said I would be happy to pay the bill if they could prove to me it was mine. I cc'd the attorney general of my state, and my senator and congressman.
I did talk to someone supposedly in their "legal" dept that told me they could contact the IRS and the amount could be added as income and I would have to pay taxes on it. Since I never heard of the creditor and they have never supplied me with proof....I guess it is a stalemate.
