- jamesstrange. i got a call from this number and they said it was bank of america loans.
- MarthaThis is PNC Fraud Prevention - I called PNC myself and verified the number.
- Caller: PNC Bank
- EmilyThay called me and asked for Anthony (I don't know anyone with that name) and I don't even own a credit card
- aThis is a legitimate call from PNC Fraud Protection services. I received a couple of calls but they left no message, only because my voicemail was full. After seeing these posts here, I called PNC on my own using the # on the back of my card. The representative transferred me to the fraud dept. and, yes, it's the holidays; they wanted to verify a charge I had made at a gas station.
- Caller: 800-225-5671 PNC Fraud Dept
- GeorgeThat is the phone number for PNC's Loss Prevention department.
- Caller: PNC
- SpauldingDV replies to BigKahunaFSUThis is not fraud. It is PNC VISA department trying to confirm purchases made on the account. I called the number back and they only asked for my name and DOB, not for card information. The lady on the call gave me her name and only wanted to confirm that it was me who made online purchases using my PNC VISA debit card. We should always be concerned and aware of potential credit card or bank card scams, but this is a legitimate department of PNC, not a scam.
- SMLReceived a call this morning from 800-225-5671. It was automated. Called PNC customer service to confirm . It IS indeed from PNC fraud detection department. There was nearly a thousand dollars of unauthorized activity charged to my card. Now it is a waiting game to get my money back....at least 10 days! Good thing I'm rich. NOT! :(
- Caller: PNC
- Kyle CowdrickClaiming to be PNC bank having my name and last 4 digits of my card. Haven't called back yet as I looked up the number online first and saw many people saying it's a scam.
- Caller: 1-800-255-5671
- PNC Bank UserThe number called and left a message for me but instead of returning a reply to it I instead called the toll free number I already had on my contacts list. It IS a legitimate call from the PNC fraud division that was placed to me due to a purchase that I made using my DEBIT card in the UK that morning. I live in the US and they wanted to be sure that I placed the charge. They also had put a hold on my account. So that got cleared up as well.
- mal14Phishing scam. Claimed to be PNC calling regarding my debit/bank card and some fraudulent charges. It's an automated call which then tells you to press any number to continue. I hung up and called the number on the back of my card. This is a phishing scam - this number is reported by a lot of people according to the woman helping me.
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- NeilThe call is legitimate. It is PNC. They were calling to say that there was fraudulent activity on my account which was prevented because of the call.
- Caller: PNC

- Jeff CThis caller IS pnc bank/visa credit fraud dept. They are verifying that you charged something on your visa card. You better answer or your card starts getting declined on anything you try to buy if you don't verify your charges!
- Caller: Visa fraud dept.
- Call type: Valid
- Harjeet RandhawaThey looks like forgers
- Caller: Claiming pnc bank
- FAReceived two calls in one day, did not answer either. Received automated voice message from PNC Bank on the first call, no message on second call. Based on the VM and the fact that no message was left on the second call I suspected a scam.
I called the bank at the number on the back of the card to report the call, they checked my accounts and called their fraud and loss prevention group to verify. They then transferred me to the loss prevention division, who asked me to verify some charges that turned out to be fraudulent. Calling back prevented the charges from posting to my account and I went to the branch and got a new card the same day.- Caller: PNC Bank
- Call type: Valid
- PAThis is fraud and a scam. I called the number on the back of my bank card - not the 800# that called me. PNC customer representative denied any notes in my account that PNC fraud prevention and loss was trying to contact me. If people posting on this page saying it is PNC are involved in this scam - SHAME ON YOU! How dare you try to steal from people during the holidays! Disgusting and unscrupulous! Do not call this number back - call the number on the back of your bank card and speak to a customer service representative.
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays.- Caller: PNC fraud prevention and loss
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- KaraThis is not pnc, they are pretending to be pnc to access account information. They say there is fraudulent charges, and there usually is, because it's them. They are trying to get additional information to make the charges go through. The first thing they asked me was the 3 digit code on the back of my card. Pnc does not ask for that. I told the woman on the phone I didn't feel comfortable giving that information over the phone. I immediately called the number on the back of pnc card and they told me yes there had been several attempts of someone trying to charge 1700 dollars in money orders and travelers checks. They however did not call me. They blocked the transactions because they didn't have my 3 digit security code and my zip code. Do not give personal information to this number. Call pnc directly!!!!!
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- JoeJoeInstead of calling the number they gave me over the phone, I called the number on the back of my credit card, explained the call, they patched me over to security, and YES, someone was trying to make a fraudulent purchase on my card. They cancelled my card and are sending out a new one.

- HarrisonIt was a legit call, I went ahead and called 1-888-762-2265 which is on the PNC contact us section after you login online. It's their main help number. went through the prompts to talk to an operator at the lost atm card area, and they verified that my card was used and declined somewhere across the state.
