It’s a scam. Pretending to be AT&T

Stupid, stupid, stupid.  We have a prepaid Tracfone and the only people who have our number is family living overseas !!!!  Yet, scum bugs, POS are able to find our name to make stupid call.  If number belongs to AT&T, they are stupid for not protecting their # and making it so easy for spammers to spoof the number and make stupid scam calls.  AT&T - USA's stupid phone company and scammer's best friend !!!!

Stupidly answered a call from 800-288-2020 this afternoon.  Recorded message with the ATT "tone" telling my account was suspended and I needed to press "1" - I hung up.   Next Called ATT at the legitimate help number - and the operator there said they did not have any 800-288's and everything looked fine with my account.

Spoofed Art number. Do not give info. Hang up and call back on number from your bill if you aren't sure

Answered ph # 800-228-2020 to an At&t tone. Said account had been suspended. Not true! Losers need to get a real job!

They say they are AT&T but sound very unprofessional and all foreign.  Sounds like s boiler room.  I do not believe they were really AT&T.

Got a call from 800-288-2020. As usual I ignored this number, but this time they actually left a partly useful - albeit prerecorded - message. It was AT&T calling in response to a technical issue I had called about over the weekend. They are sending new equipment and offered this same number to call for installation assistance if required. Where it got weird was when the guy says, "message tones for people with hearing loss" followed by about a minute of beeps and high pitched tones kind of like a fax. Well, if I didn't have hearing loss before, I have it now! Actually, it was a TTY message for those who have machines that can translate it.

This has got to be a scam. Of course AT&T is a scam in and of itself. I think, sense, that they are using some technology to make "AT&T" show up in your caller ID. I write these words on April12, 2018.

This is not AT&T....it is ATT.  It is an internet scheme...help to fix virus.  Right?!  They and others are at it again to get access to our computers and implant goodies to abscond with our info.  Beware!

got a call twice in a row statint not to use my internet and press 1 or press 2 if i dont want to speake to them. I am not an at&tcustomer. Hope i dont get billed 56 dollers like sompeople  said thay were. I should be illagle to put charges on a phone bill not related to the company .

The number is a valid AT&T number, it’s that the number is spoofed and the call is not from AT&T. If you call it back, you will get AT&T support.  The call is actually from a scammer looking to get login and password information from you. If you ever get an email saying your PIN number has been changed, call AT&T immediately.

I am reporting harrassing calls from 800-288-2020.  There is no option to be removed from call list

AT&T service call about my security and I don't use AT&T

i received the call too, saying my service was suspended until I "confirm" it, please press 1.  I no sooner would do this as I would click a link on an email.

I hung up, googled the number, 800.288.2020, saw several comments about uverse.  I called them.  The guy said if my service was being suspended, it was my bill. I told him NO, my bill was fine.  He asked for my phone number. I said, "Read it off of your screen". He said he could not. I hung up, called 611, reported it.

They reminded me that AT&T sends text messages, does not call like that, then he proceeded to tell me my phone number, and numerous other keys from my account. He was real.

Got a call from this number just now. Only it wasn’t from AT&T, some Chinese guy in a noisy background was trying to sell me AT&T service that I already have for less than AT&T quoted. Dude I just came  from the local store to finalize the promotional deals. How I found it to be a fraud, they asked for my info the first few seconds and it’s so scripted. I told them it was a scam. Chinese guy just kept talking so I hung up.

just  got  a call from this number   the  indain  acecent    was running  the  windows fix  scam. keep him on a while  , he was whanting me to  win/r  on  my computer. i finly  hung  up, so  thay eathere are running several scams   under the same number or, are switching them up.
