This people shouldn't be calling me

Don't know who this is but not answering it.

Don't be so naive.  There's a small chance it might be legitimate but if you read the hundreds of other posts on this topic, you can see that this might not even be a legitimate phone service, and even if it is, there are thousands of scammers in jail who have nothing better to do than try random numbers and try to ask strangers to forward their call to a 'loved one' (so they can talk for free), or better yet, run phone scams asking seniors or other gullible people to send 'bail money' because they are in jail for fighting someone who tried to abuse their child/mother/father....etc. etc.   Don't be fooled!  My grandmother was phone scammed out of thousands of dollars at the beginning of her Alzheimers.  Inmates prey on these people EVERY DAY ALL DAY LONG.

This is a company that gives you a local number in the same area code as a correctional facility that your friends and family may reside. Excellent idea since the cost for a local call is about $3.00 and out of area call is $27.00. HOWEVER, we do not have anyone in correctional institution calling us! PS> You can also get a cell phone with any area code you want

Thank you for sharing this work to us, it is very useful tip to deal these annoying calls. Everyone have same problem should dial GTL and follow menu to get agents to help you blocking your number on the call list. it works and you will be fine. once again, thank you to sharing it.

Phone call stating that an offender in a correctional facility attempted to make a call to this number

SCAM!! Received this call an hour after receiving a call from 713-489-7846 (a TX #) with a real recording from Norfolk City (local in VA) jail with "inmates" name verbally recorded (this recording was from a year ago with his real voice, how they got it I have no idea). It asked for payment and hung up.  I called his Mom and he is not in jail but was there with her!! An hour later a call from this 800# came in saying I missed a call from an inmate and to talk to said inmate to pay over the phone or at www.connectnetwork.com.

I have been getting calls from this number with a recording that states that somebody tried to call me collect from a correctional facility. I am not expecting and calls or know who this possibly could be.

They call with a recording speaking very fast in Spanish.  I have no clue who they are or what they want.

This is not a scam it is a legit company that the prisons let the inmates use to try to contact people on the outside!!

These filthy lumps of excrement are atill at it.  First of all, I got a call from an illegal alien inmate MF.  The next day, I got a call from the 800 number.  I see this was happening as far back as 2008.  Too bad we can't hunt them down and eliminate them for good.

Someone tried to call me from an offender correctional facility, didn't state from which facility. I know no one that is locked up.

This is an inmate calling collect and they want to set up an account using your credit card

A call from a prison??? You gotta be sh*&&ing me!

Apparently they've listened to everyone's criteria for a "real" call and are using it. I was called 2x this morning and didn't answer. When I went back to hear the message, it had a robo voice going "Hello. This is a call from (recorded man's voice saying his name), an inmate at the (x county justice center). To hear your payment options, press 0. To refuse this call, hang up or press 1. (Waits a few seconds) Your call was not accepted, please try again later." I didn't call back because I don't know the name, nor anyone in jail. I'm guessing it's a scam.
