i've gotten calls from 713-489-7846, 800-483-8314, and 206-708-2849. don't answer if i don't know the number. i am disturbed that these calls started after signing a petition on the internet. then like another person who posted here, calls were coming to my home phone...it's pretty scary when the prisons have your cell number and can then call your home phone, too...how is this information circulated so quickly and so easily. are our numbers hacked from websites or are they sold? where is the government in all this? aren't there enough of us who have posted something about the same numbers and nothing is being done!!!!!!! sick and tired of it!!!!!!!

I've been getting so many calls I just saved the number as "Spam" in my address book.

You have to press zero to get to a real person, but you will get through. I told them that I would like to have my phone number removed from their calling list. They asked me for my first and last name, which I declined to give and asked again that they simple remove my number. When they asked again for my first and last name I told them "John Smith". Then they asked me to pick a five digit pin for some reason. I asked them why, but then just told them "5555". They said my number was removed. That was it. ***holes.

What gives these idiots the right to keep calling me day and night, at work or at home???? They sure as hell don't know me. I am going to take these numbers that keep showing up on my cell and turn over to my friends at the local police station. I also will press charges. THIS IS HARASSMENT and I want it stopped.

Rec'd call from 800-483-8314 at 9:21AM on July 15th. I did not answer, as i never answer calls from numbers I am not familiar with. I was left a message, which i will not respond to, as it is obviously a scam.
I was instructed to press 2 to go to their automated credit card site to get ripped off.
Any ideas why these outfits are not shut down?

I got a call from the phone number 1-800-483-8314 but I don't know anyone who is currently locked up at the moment since the number was from a correctional facility somewhere. I got that call 12 minutes ago.

Is it coming from jail or prison?

Now I am being spam called by these people.  They are asking me to accept collect calls.  NO WAY. Blocked number and it still gets through.

I got 38 calls from Global Tel Link from this number 1-800-483-8314 and they call me 24/7 trying to get me setup an account for an inmate I don't know? on my cellphone for emergecy and doctors only..Its on Do Not Call Lists....

They won't care, they are already in jail - duh!

My daughter is getting frequent calls from this number. Sometimes its says its our local county jail. Another says some prison in texas. She has refused the calls and blocked this number. Rather scary. None of our friends or family have ever been in jail or prison . we are reporting this to the ftc and the bbb tomorrow

got several calls from 1-800-483-8314,number listed as Toll Free Caller,they call late in the evening ,I tried to block the number but was unable to to block by my carrier (Tower )
Very disturbing when you are in you mid 80's

I just received a call from 8004838314, The recording stated that I had an account that has remained inactive for over 130 days. The account has money on it and if I would like to receive my money back call 8880889879 immediately or my money will no longer available. When I dial the number when it repeats my number to me and press one since it is the number I am calling from the call is immediately terminated.

That's incorrect. I did that several times,  and it didn't stop. This company calls you when your money  for inmates calla is low.  They call anytime a day or night ,  holidays, and weekends, and the inmate don't have to call. The company just want you to deposit money  so they can make money. I even put them on the reject list, and they find a way around that so they are forcing  me to take legal action.

If you are getting calls from this number then apparently there's someone in jail/prison that knows you. When the inmate tries to call you and your pre-paid phone account is low, this is to let you know someone incarcerated is trying to call but is unable to get through to you. Either your pre-paid account is low or your phone company isn't allowing the call to come through for whatever reason. Don't say, "Well, I don't know anyone in jail/prison" because if you're getting calls from this number then apparently someone that knows you IS in fact behind bars. They wouldn't have your number otherwise, nor would they call otherwise.
