I received a call from Global Tel Inmate Call Services (713-568-6986) today requesting me to accept a collect call. A male voice then came on and gave the name "Charles Murphy". He sounded really stressed, I guess I would be too if I was incarcerated. A few seconds after he gave his name, the call disconnected. About 1.5 hours later, I received a call from 800-483-8314 asking me for information to set up a credit for an inmate to make collect calls (no name given on this call). The call also instructed me to call another number if I wished to be removed from their call list(?). I hung up without saying anything and immediately blocked both numbers. I don't know anyone who would be incarcerated and I don't know anyone by the name of Charles Murphy, either.  With all the phone scams out there today, it's such a pain having to deal with them. Being on the Do Not Call list doesn't matter, they still manage to get your number. By the looks of the dates on this blog, this particular scam has been going on for years. Be safe, people.

Hello. I keep getting missed calls for a correction facility. There is no call back number and it says it is coming from your company. Pls assist me in either figuring out who is calling me or if it’s just spam.

You think that the people calling you are going to come here to read your post and then answer you? How did you ever come up with that idea?

This has to be a scam no prison would allow 10+ calls in one evening and I don’t know anyone in jail and I don’t know a Michael

Who is calling me and where is this call from

The strange thing is my phone ususally says Scam Likely as the caller ID for possible scam calls but this number showed up as Prison/Jail. I didn't pick up nor was a message left. I do think it is a scam call though since I don't know anyone who'd be in jail nor would they have this number to call if they were.
