i am also getting this  call and message about setting up money for an inmate and i have no one in jail or prison.  please have them stop this!

This number keeos calling me for 5 days already wanting me to  pay for a collect call.  I do not know who it is.

Complaint against:   {global tel. Link}     started receiving calls concerning pre-paid account in order to speak to a prisoner on march 23rd and 24th thus far.  We don't know any one that is in jail and do not wish to.  My cell number is a "private number", is on lock for allowing my number out to others,  but i need to keep my phone on 24/7 since i have emergency calls at times.  I know that this was not a computerized call, they new my actual number.    I have tried to call  global tel. I have received both this 800 @ above and a 713 which is Houston, Tx. I just block them.

I get a message from this number often. I guess being on the NO CALL LIST really doesn't mean a thing! It is a shame that we the public have to deal with these calls!

Received a call from 180-048-3831 GTL.  Looked them up, seems they have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau but the bureau itself has about over 400 logged and closed complaints about the company.  I didn't answer the call but it left message on my machine.  The female voice had a drawling Hispanic accent and it was hard to make out what she was saying.  If they are a legit business they need to find someone who speaks English a lot more clearer.

To end this call please hang up now."" It doesn't say what state and I know no one in correctional facility. Maybe it's a robocall.

For me, this is a valid number from an inmate that I know in Orange County Jail, California.

These are not robocalls. GTL is a phone service in jails and prisons. The inmates have their own phone account where money can be deposited for prepaid calls. If they don't have money on their account they are able to try to call collect through this service. Most cell phones are unable to accept collect calls. So an inmate, whether you know them or not, entered your phone number on their call list, tried to call once before and you denied or did not answer the call. This recording is just a follow up to give you an option to add prepaid money onto your phone number so the inmate can call collect. It's not necessarily a scam. it's possible the inmate transposed a number and dialed yours by mistake. If you are 100% sure you don't know anyone in jail and wish to not get calls anymore, press 9 during the recording and it will block ALL calls from that institute, prepaid or collect.

Have received 2 cashless from this number, they speak so fast all I could make out was correctional facility. It said your variety does not allow us to bill collect calls please call back & set up for Billing, if you choose not to hang up now..which I did.. Glad NTT carrier blocks it for me but calls are still annoying...
