Started recieving these calls I DO NOT WANT !!!!!!  THIS NEEDS TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! MY PRIVACY IS BEING INVADED I DONT LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If you answer the phone when they call there is an option for if you don't want to receive those type of calls anymore. press the number and the calls will stop."

Sadly, thats not true.

They give you an 11 digit number that you have to press within a few seconds.  If you weren't prepared with a pen and pad, there's no way you'd have time to do it.  Since tons of these idiots have been calling me every night from 8:30 on... I had my pen and paper ready tonight.  

After Manuel, and Tony, I tried putting in the special code (which is suspiciously a 1-877 phone number), and then got calls from Marcus and Matt.  This is really pissing me off and I guess all I can do is block it, which lets me listen to it ring twice instead of three times, ... great.  I don't know how this company gets away with it.  And I guess one inmate gets a number and then gives it to the next 30 guys in line.

I received the same call from Lee county jail and I don't know anyone in that jail. It was also an unknown number. When answered it asked to take the collect call and if I want it in English. After asking about English, they hung up. I received my bank statement and it showed a charge for the same day these people called. The place is suite 508, Marina Tower, Belize.

Someone has been calling me from a number nonstop for the past 30 minutes. The number is a local number but when I answer it gives this number and a recording. I want to know who it is and I want it to stop.

Apparently the calls are coming from prisoners trying to gain access to your number to make calls.  I have received these and have just hung up or ignored. I then set up the number calling me to my 'Reject Call" list on my cell and this morning I got a recorded call from Global Tel Link about it shown as 'Unknown'.  It is very annoying and I will looking at my cell bill closely for the next few months. I am also going to call my provider to let them know.

I filed a complaint with the DNC registry as well. You should all do this and after so many complaints they will investigate and may take monetary action against this company as well as force the prison system to take action. Your number does not have to be on the DNC registry if the call is a recording because you are unable to tell a live person to stop calling.

I have been receiving the same exact messages. I do have a brother in the prison mentioned. But when he called the first time, it let me hear him speak and say his name but know it doesn't do that and I don't know how to stop the calls. Help! I also wouldn't mind talking with him if I knew how much the call would be first.

I've gotten calls 2 days in a row from this number. I'm in DeKalb County, Georgia and the pre-recorded message is asking me to accept a collect call from DeKalb County jail.  I have NOBODY in my life who'd be in jail for 2 days & me not already know about it... Grrrrr... Annoying.

My husband has been getting calls on his cell phone from global tell link for a collect call from a correctional facility. He has Alzheimer's  and we don't know ANYONE in trouble. And no one has his # anyway because it's just for me to keep up with him.

I am getting these calls to both my home and work phone numbers.

GTL Family/Friends Billing Support is a fake organization trying to steal some one's credit card information. Never respond to a call with a message "collect call from DeKalb County Jail"

Just got this one too: on my cell.  Said its from the MA Correctional Institute NORFOLK.  I knew not to push any buttons and only listened to the answering machine (I never picked up)  I do live in MA so its clever...

I have been getting hundreds of these calls on my cellphone and yesterday received 35 calls! I don't know what jail facility gives inmates that much time out of there cell to just call numbers, but this has to STOP!!!

I dont know anyone in jail, so I have no idea who would be calling me on my cell.  But if I get another call I am getting the details from AT&T and press charges for this harassment!

I'm a police officer in Ohio and investigated unwanted phone calls from 800-483-8314. This number belongs to Global Tel Link which is a collect call service that is contracted with prisons so that inmates can make pre-paid calls. If this number is constantly calling you and you want it to stop, call Global Tel Link at 1-877-650-4249. Select the prompt that will allow you to talk to a live person and inform them that you want your number blocked so that you no longer receive calls from them. They will take down your number and put a block on it so that you will no longer receive calls that go through them. My complainant was also receiving unwanted calls from 972-535-7795 and 972-372-1105 which is also connected with Global Tel link. the area code 972 is from Texas and they have a call center in Dallas that inmate calls get routed through. The inmate could be calling from another state but it gets routed through their Texas call center so those 972 numbers show up on caller ID. When you have them block your number, these 972 calls should stop also. Hope this helps!

i HAVE SOME ONE THAT IS IN Jail I  did a pre -payment so this person can call he called one time and was transfored  to a different jail now he can't call me again .when he tries calling it tell me that I need to pay again.I do have money from the last payment I did .it is 13.42  please let me how ccan I do it he was in Hidalgo County jail and now he is in Brooks County Jail.

This is coming to my cell phone.  It comes through my phone as unavailable.  This has happended twice.
The second time, the recording left a message with a call back # of (800) 483-8314 and said it was "Global Tellinks at vast pay authomated pay system for pre-paid customers" and wants to know if you want to register your phone.  What kind of scam is this???

My son is in jail and I have set up an account, but hasnt received a call from him. So when this unknown number shows up I tkink thats perhaps its him,but all it says  is for me to set up a prepaid account and as for my credit card info.. This happened about three times this week.
I think I have been played , caused I set up a prepaid about a month ago and when I tried to check my balance it said I dont have any even tho my son hasnt use it yet.
I dont, know what to do.



Wish it would stop.
