Same as above- called, spoke to fast, wanted to set up collect call billing with credit card. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who is calling me from this number? I will not unblock until I know who this is

If u have an iPhone, u can block the phone number. I got the same phone number calling me the whole day.

This number keeps calling my cell. I never answer and am on the DO NOT CALL list. Obviously that does not good though. How do we get this number to stop calling?

I received a call 2 days in a row. It is a recording. First said it was a lawyers office. Second call said it was a correctional institute.

Someone called on my other cell from this #! Earlier when I returned call it said someone was trying to reach me from prison but because I didn't accept those calls it was telling me how to pay accept them. A few days later I received a call from 248  379 0426 saying same exact thing. I googled it and it's in or close to Detroit Michigan! My ex boyfriend had been using my other phone. Does anyone know if this is just random calling as a scam OR could it be related to mischievous use by him? I'd really like NEED to know due to other circumstances! When I called the 253 # earlier today it stated it was a prison an inmate trying to get in touch with me BUT how to pay in case they tried reaching me again..of course I hung up but then dialed this other missed call googling it the 800# and it's pretty much saying the same thing. This one a company name..when I just retried the 253 area code it now gives quick busy signal! Any info would be so helpful. Thank you!

Yes how do we at least block..I got same call from an area code 253 when I googled both # s same exact place Detroit Michigan! It had on Google over hundreds of complaints saying it's a Correctional Institution but recalling the 1800 # it comes up as different name but wanting credit card info. The 253 says can inmate had tried reaching me but because it was missed call and I don't accept those if they tried calling again we could put money into their acct by our phone # where they could legally call! I have an ex boyfriend of three yrs who during Memorial day weekend I had broken up with. He's been trying to pull stunts on me computer wise..I had let him use that phone for a month so I was making sure this wasn't related to him..what I've read on here and Google it seems to be a Scam outta Detroit Michigan! Any feedback would be appreciated!

This SOB has been calling me from ( AM until 10:22 PM 2 and 3 times a day, T-Mobile was suppose to block the number but failed miserably, If I get charge for any of these calls I will dispute it, I'm fed up and thinking about switching carriers, I have not answered any of these calls, You'd think this fool would get the hint.

Received a call from 800-483-8314 around 3:30PM yesterday, then another from the same number today around 9:45AM. Both left recorded messages.  The first call is as follows: "This is GTL about call from an offender at a correctional facility," After something in Spanish, the recording continues in English, "Your service provider is unable to bill you for these calls. If you wish to receive these calls, you must contact us at 877-650-4249 to arrange for billing."  On today's call, the recording began mid-sentence..."these calls, you  must contact us at 877-650-4249 to arrange for billing.  To hear these instructions again, please press 1.  To end this call, please hang up now."

I didn't call either number but 'googled' them instead, finding this link with references to numerous calls being billed to (your) number, once you answer or return their call.  Whew! Although I thought I dodged that bullet, pun intended, I did receive the second call, so  I immediately searched how to block those 2 numbers & called my cell carrier for assistance.

Scammers need to go get a real job.  I have more important things to do than to spend it unnecessarily jumping through hoops to protect my privacy. I WOULD ADVISE AGAINST CALLING ANY UNKNOWN NUMBER!!  Google it first!

Are they calling us because they think it's someone they know or just so we can set up a billing account so they can call Hella other ppl and not have to pay? On my caller ID it said sanctuary jail I think and it said I had 1 minute free call from an inmate and in thinking y tf it dosent say the name and then I heard someone say hello (a man) and I got so creeped out and it said to accept press 0 and I hung up so quick. Idk anyone in jail but I do have a family member I don't talk to in prison so it couldn't have been him but does anyone know how to make it stop or if I should answer and say wrong number cause it prolly is

Just received a call from Global Tel link  this is the third time in two days....left me a voicemail with an 877-650-4249 number if I would like to add a billing.  Found out that someone at women's facility in Ohio State Prison was trying to contact me....I requested a block on my number.  Was simple to do just gave my address and set a pin# hope that stops these calls!

I received a call a few times now and am not expecting a call from any one I know. Please remove me from the list.

My caller ID reflects Telephone # 304 496 8952. Since this is an unfamiliar #, I let voicemail pickup When I access voicemail, it says that someone from a "local correctional facility"  is trying to reach me and directs me to this phone number for "GTO":800 483 8314. When I call this number I am given several options, none of which directs me to live service.

These characters called me at work - this sounds like a phishing scheme!  I am not the cell phone do not call list and still got this call call.  I did not recognize it and did not pick up.
