Why did I get a call from this number

Who called

Message is for a James Ihye
This person used to have my new number.  No one on phone just a recording for him.

They call for person that does not live here.

I was getting these calls from our local jail in TN.  I don't know anyone in the jail.  I called GTL and hit 1 for English, then all the messages were in Spanish.  I called back the fourth time, there was not an option to speak to a real person but I took a chance and hit "0".  On hold forever before I got someone but have still rec'd calls.

I got a call and it said it was from a correction center and if I wanted to but money on a account I could  or said I could accept a correct call press one ..

This call is clearly scam

I'm have recieved 3 calls from the number above 800-483-8314. I do not accept any phone calls from prison or correctional centers...and dont have a clue why this is happening. I am on the do not call list.

received this call after receiving two same type calls from Chemung County Jail. did not answer any, did not review answering machine message. have received county jail calls in the past, and made mistake of listing to message from one before erasing it. now I never answer a call from an unknown source without checking in here first

Do not Answer this call. Illegal collect call from unknown person/company.

I do not know anybody who is in jail. i do not know why i am getting calls from someone thats locked up.

Call correction facility and wanted monies from credit card for collect calls from  correction facility.

It calls and left messages that an inmate is calling to talk to me if i want to accept the call but i dont even know anyone that is locked up...

800-483-8314. They pretend to be calling from Prison. It is a collect call. If you want to take the call you have to give them your credit card number to apply to the calls. How STUPID.Once you give them your credit card number you will be charged for everything under the sun.They will use it in stores, online and it is because the stupid idiot that answered the phone gave them access to your account.( meaning you). Just block their number.

The recording says the number is one you call if you want to be billed for collect calls from them. But if you answer and push any buttons, or call them back at this number, you alert whoever this is to an active phone and I can't imagine what will come next.

this is spam a automatic system which inmates use to try to place a call out of jail

I've been getting a call from this number several times a day - they start at 10am and end at 10pm. I get about 6 calls a day. When you pick up, you will hear an automated message from Global Tel* Link, telling you that an inmate is trying to contact you from a local jail. Be careful - if you accept, you will be billed for the call. I don't think that this is spam, but does get annoying.
