- 16 year oldI have been receiving calls from 800-669-0102 for weeks twice a day. They call when school starts and when school ends. I don't own a home...I'm 16! I'm thinking about buying a doghouse so I can get a loan so they will stop calling me!
- victimThis is Countrywide collecting information about you trying to force you to pay other's debt that they bought for pennies. The best tactics is do not answer these calls. The less information you provide them (including your name, age, address, SSN, ZIP code) the better chances you will not pay your non-existent overdue mortgage. Do NOT call back, keep registry of the calls, and check your credit report periodically. Wipe your name from the voicemail greeting as well. If the harassment continues, one may consider changing phone number and consulting with an attorney for proper legal actions. Be prepared, this scam may trash your credit and it may take years to get rid of them.
- DisappointedReceiving same repeated calls as everyone above. If these people are truly representatives of Countrywide, I am very disappointed. They've been great to deal with and this kind of harrassing is far below what I expected them to be as a company. Particularly if the number - as shown on the link above from Dana on 12-12-07 - is connected with disaster relief borrowing. Shame on these people!

- Annoyed!!I recently started getting these calls on my cell phone. All times of day including 9:00pm weeknights and 8:00am Saturdays. I do have a Countrywide account but have never been past due and have an excellent credit score with no known debt so I don't know what they could be calling about but, do get emails frequently to refinance so it may have to do with that. I don't answer the calls and they don't leave messages.
- MeI received a call from this number to my new cell phone number(2 weeks old)and no message was left.
- GraceThey called me at 3 pm on Christmas eve - go have some EGGNOG and leave me alone! LOSERS!!
- annoyed & determinedI received 6 phone calls w/in one day from 800-669-0102. When I called back it states that it was for Home retention and asking for my accnt# and SSN. Of course the first thing I did was hang up. After researching the phone# I found out that others have been going through this issue as well.
So I looked up information for Country Wide Headquarters (1-818-225-3000), asked to make a complaint about that phone# and spoke to a representative. The only information I gave him was my phone#. The representative found that the accounts it pulled up were accounts that did not have my first name and were in other states(I did not give out my last name, was not necessary).
First of all, I do not have a home loan or any dealings with Countrywide/Home Retention. What the representative did was remove my phone# from their call list and then transferred me to their Home Retention line. The represetative on the home retention line then removed my phone# from the account that does not belong to me.
I was seriously annoyed by the 800-669-0102 phone# but determined to get the issue resolved. Let's see if what I did takes care of the annoying caller.- Caller: Unknown
- ArleneI too get calls from this number several times a day. I have a mortgage with countrywide and am never late. Plus I have written to them and told them numerous times to put never call us and they assured me that would be the case, especially since my phone number is unlisted, but still the calls and the harrassment persists. Makes me wish I had never taken a mortgage out with them. We are changing our number and I don't intend to give it to our mortgage company.

- BikerdivaThese idiots call repeatedly on my business line. I called them back and got a recording asking for account information. I didn't give it but kept hitting "0" til I got a human on the phone. Mind you, I still didn't know what company I was speaking to. I told the rep that their telemarketers are calling a business line and have been repeatedly and this needs to stop, NOW. I gave them the phone numbers and the rep said they have been removed from the list. They called again almost immediately after this conversation and to my knowledge they are still calling. Now that I know it's Countrywide, they are going to hear from me big time, TODAY!!!

- Frustrated!Obnoxious. Calls all the time, in evenings and early Saturday mornings, even Christmas morning! We have a mortgage with them, but this is ridiculous. They don't leave messages either. We have also called & asked them to take us off of their calling list, but they don't!
- Caller: Countrywide (Mortgage)
- Don BWe have never done business with Countrywide and all of our phones are on the "Do Not Call List". They continue to call my cell ... several times. I do not answer. I have also filed a complaint at www.donotcall.gov.
- ignoresthecallI too have been receiving many calls from this number over the past week or so. I have an account with Countrywide, but my mortgage is paid every month. I also called the number back because they never leave a message. The recording thanked me for calling the Home Retention Team but did not mention Countrywide. I hung up, since I do not need my home retained...
- monicathey call me like 50 times a day! my account is not even passed due...very fishy
- Caller: countrywide
- Laura ConleyI received a call today. I missed the call, and no message was left, so I called the number back. The computer system would not let me get to an operator unless I typed in an account number or my social security number. Heck no. They had no mechanism to tell me who they are or why I should tell them anything about me. Are they trying to steal my identity???
- kreceived a call and answered to no one.
- GregIt is possible to get off the Countrywide call list. Dial the 800-669-0102 number, and from the main menu choose option 4 "arrange to make a payment". Be patient and sit in silence as a series of questions are asked about how you will make a payment. Eventually the answering system will give up and switch you to a live person. Tell that person you want to be removed from the call list and it will be done.
- Lawrence BlackCountrywide keeps calling my cell phone. They are going to cause multiple car accidents with their relentless calling. I have never, nor will ever use them.
- Caller: Country wide
- JeffreyI got a call even on XMAS day, calls continue to repeat through the day and night. They claim that they represent Country Wide, I have told them to stop calling and that I do not have Country Wide. This does not help, perhaps when Country Wide goes bankrupt the world will get a relief and be represented by a more professional mortgage company.
- Caller: Home Retention
- JIMthere was just dead air..
