- jessica| 2 repliesI have had this number calling me several times a day everyday for months now, it's usually while i'm at work so i just ignore the missed call as i never get a message left. (actually only once they said they were calling about my current home loan.) I'm 21 and live in an appartment. i have never owned a home. I called them back and they asked me immediately for my ssn. i made up several fake ones before i got through to speak with a person. she again asked for my ssn to look up an account i don't have. i gave her my st. and first name and told her to take me off their list we'll see what happens. could these be from the people who had the cell phone before us?

- Chris in NJGot this voicemail today at work, secretary had to transfer call to my voicemail. No identity given, not even "Hello, this is <so-and-so> from Country Wide Mortgage. Please call us back regarding your current mortgage." Nope, just a message saying, "Please call us back at 1-800-669-0102".
I have a mortgage with Country Wide (as well as a 2nd mortgage). My main mortgage is up-to-date (paid automatically from my checking) and my 2nd mortgage is only a few days late (still within the grace period). Unfortunately for me, my mortgage company either sold my original mortgage to Country Wide or that company was bought by Country Wide so I did not get a choice.- Caller: unknown
- Michelle| 2 repliesThis number has called me three times in two days. When I called back the automated voice asked for my social security number. I am on the Do No Call list. This is illegal.
- Caller: ?
- MandyIt's Countrywide Home Loans
- Miss NicoleThis number calls my home numerous times every day and does not leave a message.I do have a mortgage with Countrywide and I have never been late. They also constantly send me e-mails and letters asking me to refinance. Even after you ask them too stop the harrasment, they dont.
- Dale| 1 replySupposedly Countywide Mortgage called to say that our mortgage is delinquent. Which is interesting since I don't have a mortgage with them. They asked for my account number. "No account number?" - that is okay - just enter your social security number and street address...
- Caller: Countrywide Mortgage
- Chris| 1 replyI've been receiving these phone calls the last few days. Same situation with the "please hold..." being said twice than being hung up on. I do not have, nor have I ever, had a home loan with CountryWide. Luckily, I happen to have a CountryWide Home Loan office on the second floor of the building I work in. I spoke to them and they put me in direct contact with their main head quarters. The number 1-800-669-0102 is indeed CountryWide's Home Retention (Debt Collection) Devision. After I told them the situation, they transfered the information to their Security Communications Devision and told me they will be opening a full investigation of the matter. I hope this gets solved... Still, if you get this call, I would not give the information it asks for (SS# and Account#).

- tmacweird...just called me and a recording kept saying please hold.
went on for a couple minutes. no idea........ - BEThis number called my cell phone today. When I called the number back, I received a message that it was the "home retention team". What is this?
- TCThat number just called me on my business line. I have never been delinquent on my mortgage, and I am in fact selling the home in 4 business days. They did not leave a message, but I did call it back and got the 'home retention team.' Any reason to think this is a phishing scam?
- RTThey keep calling, if you call back they say they are a debt collector and ask you for info you obviously don't know - and without that info they will not connect you to a representative.
- Caller: Unknown
- Pissed DaveThis number is from a debt sevice in Simi Valley Ca. If you call it back it ask for a account #. Punch in the phone number they are already calling you at
and you can get a live person or fax 805-520-5019. I talked to Amanda Nielsen and she was of little help. Now I'm going on a fax mission. Call that 800 number and just keep saying no then yes, it will tie up the lines and cost them money. - AnnetteThey've been calling me for weeks from three different phone numbers. I called one of the numbers, entered a fake account number and talked to a representative. He was very apologetic and told me to call their customer service number. I called them and spoke to a representative who took my name and phone number and said that there "security breach" department would be removing me from their call list and contacting me as soon as it was taken care of. We'll see what happens. Jerks.
- Caller: Countrywide
- Barbara| 1 replyFormer customer of Countrywide with paid off mortgage. Didn't even have this number when I was their customer. Calling repeatedly. Tried calling back. Says they are a debt collection service. Will only talk to you if you have account number or, of course, if you'll give their social security number. Definitely not!!!
- Caller: sv-1 us what recording said
- luggnutt| 1 replyi get at least 17 to 20 calls a day... country wide mortage
- Caller: country wide mortage
- Connie B.I'm not a customer of Countrywide. In nearly 30 years, on 4 different homes, I have NEVER been one second late on a mortgage payment. I was puzzled by this call and called back. It was the home retention team. Well, thank you very much, my home is well retained as the mortgage is paid off. What a scam.
- jasonthey call me all the time and then tell me to hold, wtf? its even on my cell phone
- MarkThis is one of 3 numbers that are routinely called to my cell phone. it is a new phone, but apparently someone had countrywide before me.
- JJ| 2 repliesI get calls from 800-669-0102 on my cell phone. When I called back I learned it was "Countrywide Home Retention" and that they were "debt collectors" from the message. However they won't allow you to talk with anyone w/out a SSN or address. I don't have a Countrywide loan. I tried calling the main number in CA and was transferred to the same line. I guess I have two choices...ignore until they harrass me to death or answer and try to get off the list, which according to this board, may or may not work! Countrywide is obviously not a reputable company, and I will never ever consider them for a loan. Ever.
