- AnonymousThis number has been calling off and on since May 18, 2010. They left a computerized message on our answering machine on May 18, 2010, but that's the ONLY time they've EVER left a message. We always let the answering machine take the call, but they always hang up.
Like I said, they've been calling off and on since May, but today ,August 19, 2010, they've been extremely persistent with their calls and have been calling EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR. It started at 9:07am this morning and continued at 10:05am, 11:02am, 12:04pm, 1:02pm, 2:03pm, 3:01pm, 4:04pm, and 5:03pm, but that's only SO FAR. Who knows how many more times they'll call ,if any, by the end of the day. UGH! I thought bill collectors (or whoever they are) were only allowed to call 1 or 2 times a day. Couldn't the persistent phone calls be considered harassment? How do I make them stop?
The one and only message that was ever left said it was Bank Of America Home Loans. I have no idea who they're calling for ,because the message didn't say and I REFUSE to answer their calls, but if that's who this number really is then they seriously need to STOP CALLING here. NO ONE in this household has ANY business association with Bank Of America WHATSOEVER!- Caller: Toll Free Call
- JMI got many calls on my cell day and night from this number over the past 2-3 weeks. Never left a message. I answered to end the harassment and they hung up after I said, "hello." Next day, I answered again, got typical long pause of computer calling system, then someone got on the line saying this is "Bank of America" and asked for the last 4 of my SSN. I refused. He have me a callback number, said it was not a sales call, and that I could walk into any BOA branch to find out why he was calling, insinuating I was in trouble. I still refused to cooperate ( did not give him my last 4), he got rude, and hung up on me. I called a number that I know goes to the real Bank of America. Associate looked up my account, said "all fine" and that BOA never calls and asks for your SSN (they do ask if you call them and can't give an account #). 800-669-0102 are scammers, basically phishing over the phones. Do not give them any info, but might have to answer to tell them to buzz off, or might not stop calling.
- Caller: Claimed to be "Bank of America" but scam
- clvngodesscalled asking for my husband stating it was a matter of personal business. Um, my husband doesn't have any personal business that isn't my business too. Even our banking and loans. If this was a solicitation, they are going to be reported.

- Susan VerburgWe have been receiving calls from this number for over 3 weeks. Bank of America asking for a David Cosler (sp) We do not know anyone by that name. We have had our phone number for over 25 years.
We don't have any accounts with Bank of America or Country Wide. We have asked for supervisors and have been put on hold. We have been told that we will be taken off the list numerous times. This isn't happening! What does it take?- Caller: Bank of America
- AnonI get calls from this number all day long every day non stop. even on weekends... usually its a mortage bs thing. I don't even own a house!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JimijamesThis aggressive automated scam dials my home several times a day claiming to be Bank of America collecting on a mortgage debt. Although I am a premium customer of BoA I do not have any loans through them. When you call the 800 number to see what they want they ask for your account number. If you do not have your account number they are willing to access your account via your 9 digit SS#. Do not ever give your 9 digit SS# to anyone over the phone.

I called the number back to find out this was, "Bank of America" Home Retention Program. The young lady sounded like she was from a region outside of the US, due to the clarity of the call and accent. I asked to immediately speak with a supervisor to whom she connected me to. The supervisor also sounded like he was from a different region (my guess India).
He said that the customer service department has them do random calls on customers who have an "Auto-drop Payment" (electronic payment) to confirm that the payment information is the same and if there will be any change in the upcoming payment date.
I called from my Google Voice Phone and it said the number I was calling was disconnected, so I called from SKYPE and the call went through. I did not want to call from my cell phone number from which all the calls were received. (I found this odd and will check up after the Labor Day holiday weekend)- Caller: Bank of America - Home Retention Program
- NanaI have been receiving a call from this number several times a day for the past several days....You are told to hold until you are disconnected...I see here that it is from Country Wide....I have never done business with this company...Can't something be done to stop them from calling....
- Caller: Country Wide
- Darlene Quebedeauxgot recording call just asking me to hold for important message. Have no idea what they are calling for. When I called back it said it was from Bank of America the bank holding my home loan. I don't have a home loan with them or anyone else. Getting tired of getting collection calls for the people who lived here over a year ago especially when this has never been their phone number.
- Caller: Bank of America
- rommineThis number calss this business non stop and we have no dealings with them. It is pure harassment.
- filegirl38I changed my cell phone # these people started calling me non-stop!! How the hell do they get our numbers? Is there a way to sue them for harrassement?
- Caller: Countrywide
- Lorraine NewtonI had to call customer service more than ten times and each time they said they would remove my number - I don't even have an acct with these people. I am receiving over 20 calls a day and their solution was to have an actual agent stop calling me and to replace it with a recording. Great that really helps. I finally asked to speak to a supervisor who assured me, just like the customer service reps, that my phone number has been deleted from the main system - which is supposed to be different from their other system. OK I'll hold my breathe... I got the supervisor's direct line if anyone's interested.. TIM CARPENTER (480) 457-3567.. good luck!

When I answered someone said "hold please" and no one retuned to the line! - ANNOYEDTHESE PEOPLE WILL NOT STOP CALLING ME!!!!!!! They call probably 10 times or more a day! It's so irritating especially since I have important calls and I look at the phone to see this number.
- eb9/25/10 Debt Collection company. I don't have a loan with these people but I figured it was involving my step daughter and sure enough it was. Thank goodness we kept records on her SSN. Through different Data Collection Agencies they get access to relatives, etc to try and get them to pay up. That's how our phone number ended up in they system. This is the 2nd time I've tried to get them to remove our number. Don't know if it will work. This is really annoying and harassing.

- HalExact same reports of these calls at 800notes.com. Continuous robocalls asking for callbacks or even no messages left at all. Weekday, Sunday and evening calls. Repeated "double-teaming" -type calls from other unidentified 800 numbers possibly allied with this particular caller.
I am informed by a legal professional that duly diligent steps well worth carrying out before escalating these calls to the FTC or to your locally elected representative are 1) to NEVER answer these calls or call the caller(s) back as requested, 2) to record caller ID information, 3) to record or write down the actual message(s) left and variants of the message(s), and 4) to log over a more extensive timespan the actual timestamp (dates, times) of these calls.- Caller: BAC/BofA/Countrywide Home Loans

- SomeoneIf you want to stop getting calls, pay your mortgages. If you can't and are going through a financial hardship let the debt collectors know so we can try and help you. We are required by law to inform you we are debt collectors, but we are also specialists in pre-qualifying borrowers for assistance with their loans. By hanging up, refusing to verify, or ignoring the calls; you are setting yourself to be called again. It's federal law that the bank keeps in contact with you when you don't pay your normal mortgage payment so by doing one of the three you are having the automatic dialer system keep your name in line so we have to call again.. Trust me, we don't want to call you and aren't the ones who dial.
About the idiots claiming identity theft for trying to verify your social: We have your social.. We do not need it, we just need YOU to verify the last 4 before we can tell you anything. That's also federal law. If you STILL have a problem, do yourself a favor and go into your local branch and they will verify the phone number is legit and is actually from the bank's call center.
Without verifying the last 4 of the social: We cannot complete the call in the way to take you off the auto-dialer, we can't tell you why we're calling and all we can say is "personal business matter" if you or a 3rd party asks why we are calling prior to verification. Some collectors are fine with telling you upfront it's not a solicitation and others don't like risking their job since saying that can still be construed as releasing information prior to verification.
Let me put this in caps. YOU ARE BEING IDIOTIC IF YOU ARE BLAMING THE COLLECTOR FOR YOUR OWN SITUATION OR ISSUES WITH THE BANK. We are people too and only doing our jobs. Be nice to us and of course we will try to be nice and do whatever we can for you. IF you pickup the phone or call in screaming your ass off for something that is the corporation's fault and not our own... Well how would you feel in the given situation? We are people just like you trying to make our pay. If you still have a problem after this message then I have failed to reach any rationality in yourself and please continue hating the world as normal.
