- Caller: BANK OF AMERICA AKA INDIA
- Call type: Debt collector
- it's a scamThey called me at 8:30pm (hello I have kids to put to bed) and said my mortgage was passed due and it was a debt of $2000 then it changed to a different number when I said it wouldn't be $2000. They they transfered me to another person who was unavailable.
- TooBusyI got a call from this number and when I wouldn't give them the last four of my social they wouldn't tell me anything. So I told them I wold call them back. I can here to check the number ... you never know if the one that comes up on the caller Id is a valid number. When I found all these comments I remembered Bank of America now holds the Countrywide mortgages like mine. Which got me to thinking, I better check to see if I paid my January mortgage ...... oooops ... for got.
I assume they won't call again =)- Caller: Bank of America
- 3 times a dayThey ask me if I would like a loan, it's been 2 days and so far 6 times. This site is great
- dr2steveWho are these idiots, call my cell phone and want my social security number before they'll let me speak to a supervisor?
Have asked them to take me off their calling list twice.
This smells like a scam.- Caller: Bank of America
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Marhart replies to mpmThey call me every day and say they are from Bank of America with a personal message for me. But they won't give me any information unless I "verify my social security number" with them. So, since I won't give them any info, they won't give me my "personal message". I even asked to speak to a supervisor and the dumb customer service rep put me on hold, then got back on the phone and gave me a different name. What a bunch of unprofessional jerks!
- reallyclueless68They have been calling me for the last 7 days... In the past 2 days I've had 10 calls.. Called them back yesterday and told them to take my number off the call list, as I have MS and can't run to the phone for needless calls.... I point blank told them that I don't have an account with them, nor did I in the past... Told them this was a cease and desisit call back and if I get one more call to my number from them I will report them to the FCC and my state district attorney's office for harassment.... I have a sneaking suspicsion that this is an Identiy Theft scam so do not give them your name, real social security number nor your real zip code as they will try numerous times to get this information from you throught- out the call... Make sure after you tell them all this that the next phone call you get from them that you actually do report them.. The more they will be proscuted... Good luck all.
- Caller: Bank of America/ Countrywide Mortgage
- jimboFTC rules indicate that the name of the company must be left in all messages, especially if it's robo-calls. It is illegal to call a cellphone (very much moreso if you told the caller it is a cellphone and not to call back) from a business with no prior established business relationship and without permission to use the cellphone number.
This is most certainly a scam. A real company following the law would leave a complete message about why they are calling, not hide behind some small portion of debt-collecting rules that do not allow the company to tell someone other than the person in dept the purpose of the call.
In other words, know your rights, report it to the FCC. I usually do not pick up the call, ever. Because these are automated illegal systems, and eventually you may get expunged from their illegal calling list if their system never registers your number as an 'active' responder.- Caller: Unknown
- JohannGot a call today. Didn't answer it.
- Frustrated by ghost calls| 1 replyRegardless of how many times I say hello, there is no response! I called the number back and it is BAC (B of A)Home Loans. Apparently B of A assumed this # in the buy out!

- KATYAFOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER EARLING IN THE MORNING, ASKING ME FOR MY LAST FOUR DIGITS OF MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. IF I INQUIRE WHY THEY WANT THIS INFORMATION, THE LADY SAYS THAT SHE IS CALLING FROM BANK OF AMERICA, BUT WHEN I CALL BACK AN ANSWERING MACHINE SAYS THAT THEY ARE HAVING DIFICULTIES WITH TH SYSTEMS. I THINK THIS IS A RIP OFF.
- Caller: BANK OF AMERICA?
- dale replies to Frustrated by ghost callsI am fighting with BOA...they apparently bought out ou Countrywide Mortgage, and we were set up on a "pay plan 52" with countrywide... after 1 1/2 years, they are NOW caling me and telling me that they do not except wekkly payments, and because i am 9 moths behind.. they are foreclosing...i have been round and round with these people, oh yeah, by the way, they cannot even produce a mortage contract with our signatures on it?????? somebody HELP!!!!!!!
- mouseThis number is Bank Of America's collection agency. I called the B of A CEOs office (704-386-5687) which is answered by customer advocates and they verified it is their number. It is not a scam. However, it is very annoying. If you never had a loan with Countrywide or BofA it probably means someone who used to have your number did.
Anyway, they said they took my number off the list and I shouldn't get anymore calls after 24 hours. We'll see...
They did NOT ask me for my social security #.- Caller: Bank Of America - Collections
- Call type: Debt collector
- DianaBank of America- Called them back. Have been trying to work with them on a loan modification for our house. Was advised that they wouldn't give me the info they needed to work on our loan modification, when I asked for it. Tired of fighting them.
