Remember, There is no identification when they call or they do not respond when you say "hello".  They are not leaving a message.  They are asking for personal information that only BofA would have.  I do want to point out that BofA outsources to other countries such as India.  This is what happens when accounts are available to others in other countries and there is no direct control.  BofA employees have stated they take no reponsibility for these calls on other sites such as this one.  If someone has gathered info as a Phone Representatives in another country, which I feel has happened, the business that outsourced is responsible for  breech of security.  This is what happens when a company such as BofA looks for every angle to reduce it's operating costs;  All in the name of the almight dollar.  Do not give anyone information over the phone when they ask for personal information without being sure you are talking to a legit company!!!  Instead, call the number given on your statements and be sure you are talking with a responsible person.  I did call the 1-800-669-0102 number and there was no company identification given when the automated message answered.  They then asked for my account number.  I didn't answer.  "They said, "May I have your SS#?", I said "No".  "Do you have your bank account number."  I said, "No".  The recording then said, "I'm sorry, I cannot assist you if you do not have this information".  I said, "You are absolutely correct", and hung up.  Everyone must rethink what they have been accustomed to when doing business on the phone or on the internet.  There is no security any longer and it, more than likely, will get worse.  Another reminder...Always clear your browser history after logging on to banks and payment site!!!!  Change your user and passwords often!!!  Protect yourself...because, when it is all said and done, no one else will!!!

It's a refinance place called Discount Mortgage Relief, and I have made repeated Better Business Bureau filings on them. I've even received an email from the company's owner assuring me that they would stop calling, which does stop the calls for a few months.

My next step will be legal action, because it seems after about 6 months of silence, the calls have started yet again.

Here's a link to their BBB account, and as you can see, they have many many complaints and have an F rating. I even found an article online back when I first started receiving calls almost a year ago that stated that the owner was being investigated for fraud.

It's a scam.  I did call Bank of America and they verified the number.  BUT, a big BUT.  They don't know why they are calling me.  I have no loan or outstanding debt.  I have a 785 credit score and check my  credit report often.  I check my few credit cards weekly looking for fraud.  So this is a scam.    2 possibilities.  The are spoofing the number.  Which means they use the BOA phone number but in fact it is a call center in maybe India or some foreign country with no consumer laws.  Or it's a subsidiary of BOA that isn't following the law and trying to bypass the do not call list by saying that since I have a bank account with BOA that the do not call list doesn't apply.  I asked BOA to remove me from all phone solicitations, but I still get up to 4 calls a day.  I have the number blocked but it annoying to go online to see missed calls and see this number.  I filled a complaint with DoNotCall.gov but it hasn't worked.  I have a feeling that is a spoofed number and their is nothing BOA can do to stop it.  In any case, NEVER, NEVER give personal information over the phone, unless you are positive it is right company.  I have a feeling this is scam trying to steal your personal information and hiding behind BOA phone number.  If you are concerned call BOA directly or go to a local branch.  They will help you.  This may be one of those companies trying to offer debt relief, but all they do is just take your money.  File bankruptcy is you can't afford your bills.  It sucks and will ruin your credit, but it will end the calls.  In seven to 10 years you can rebuild your credit.  A neighbor filed bankruptcy, kept his house, and just got approved for a new within 3 years.  He states the rate was fair and his life is much better.  Their is hope after bankruptcy.  But learn to live within your means.

They've called several  times for the last few weeks to a VACANT guest workstation at my office. I finally picked up and let them know this is guest workstation at an office. Let's see if they keep calling.

I didn't bother asking who they were, just asked to STOP CALLING AS NO ONE IS ASSIGNED TO THIS NUMBER.

Keep receiving calls from Bank of America. The calls are from BofA trying to collect on an over due mortgage. My phone number I have is new that I got when I signed up for my Magicjack. It turns out that my number used to belonged to the person that was over due. They explained what the problem was and they asked me if I knew the person. I said no. There are no options to talk to a real person from the 8006690102 telephone number, so the best thing to do is when prompted to an account number is to enter a bunch of "1"s like 111111111111111. Then when prompted for other info enter more 1s. This will get you to an option of talking to an agent. DO NOT give any personnal infomation and just use a made up first name. Remember you are trying to unlink your telephone number and tyhat is the only info you need to give. It took about 15 minutes to fix the problem.  After getting passed around several time until we found the correct department. I said that if the problem was not fixed I was going to call my State AG. Be firm with them but understand they are just doing a job as well so don't get mad.

This number is BOA's mortgage arm's (BAC Home Loans Servicing, LP) collections department.  I have a mortgage with BOA, but have never missed or even been late on a payment, and my account with them is only a few months old.  Received an autocall from this number on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. that stated:

"Please call Bank Of America Home Loans at 1-800-669-0102. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8am to midnight Eastern time, Friday 8am to 10pm, Saturday 8am to 3pm, and Sunday 6pm to 11pm. Once again, please call Bank Of America Home Loans at 1-800-669-0102. Please have your account number available when returning this call. This is not a solicitation message. Thank you."

I called back immediately, only to receive a recording stating that they were closed (despite the message which said their office hours were 6-11 p.m. on Sundays).  On Monday morning I called BOA Home Loans normal customer service number.  They confirmed that the call was from their collections department, and also that my account was current and I shouldn't have received it, and said my number had "probably ended up on the autocall list."  When I pushed a little bit asking to be taken off that list, I was transferred to their "VIP Department," (?) and the woman I spoke with there said that she had processed the request to remove me from their auto call list so hopefully that will do the trick.

WOW.  I filed a complaint with the donotcall.gov web site several times.  I tried calling BOA to fix the problem.  Nothing works.  If not for call blocking I would be getting up to 6 calls a day.  They have called my number phising for info over 150 times in January.  OVER 150 TIMES!  If not for call blocking I would be going crazy.  I blocked the number, but go online and see all the Loan counseling attempts.  WOW!  To use ROBO call should be illegal, but it isn't if the bank or caller has prior history with you or a charity.  IT SUCKS!  Phones calls should be treated with more respect and privacy.  My only hope is call blocking, but it doesn't stop all calls.  I only can block 12 calls on Comcast . with this number as the most blocked number, and with all the desperate charities, scum bucket scam artist, and high unemployement, the calls keep coming.  Between this and police, fire, etc callers, my phone rings and rings.  Please comcast raise the limit to 100 or unlimited.  I would pay for the service.  I want my phone back.  Call blocking is now as important as caller ID.

This number belongs to a Loan Counseling Service representing Bank of America mortgage/home loans.  They are a debt collection agency that will continue to harrass you even after providing information proving that they have the wrong person.   They are rude and obnoxious. After advising them that we doNOT, nor ever will, have any account w/BofA (what a joke of a name) they continue to call.
I decided to call them  and continued repeating, "not available" to the VOC system until I finally got a live agent that said he would remove our number.  I told him that we were told that by several agents and since it still had not bee done, that I will commence will filing harrassment charges against there company should we receive one other call.

It has been one week with no calls, I have call blocking and check the web site daily.  Maybe, Just Maybe, my complaints to BOA and filing several complaints with the donotcall.gov web site have paid off or is this just a break, only time will tell. It only took 2 years. I know it has only been seven days, but there is a sign of hope.  I also filed a complaint with the IL attorney general, maybe something worked.  I feel credit collections, mortgage refinance, whatever should have to prove they have a right number.  They should be required to send certified letters, use the courts, or leave messages on machines.  They use robo calling, hang up, are rude, and harassment tactics to try to collect zombie debt.  I know it is a bad economy, but doing this job is like working for the mob.  You know what your doing is wrong, but find a way to justify it for your family sake.  Making a living of the suffering of others is WRONG and there is no excuse. PERIOD.  Don't justify it, it is WRONG!  Find an honest job and way of making a living.  Stop making scum rich, while you live on their scraps.   EVERYONE, PLEASE call and write your congressperson about passing real consumer protection.  Only the original debt collector should be allowed to collect the debt, stop trading bad loans/credit like junk bonds, it should be the collectors job to insure the credit is valid, not the other person on the other side of the phone, and most of all STOP using phones to collect debt.  Phone should be treated as an extension of yourself.  YOU PAY for the phone and you have the right not to be harnessed once asked to stop.  The phone is an extension of you in these times.  It is no different than the 70's and 80's when someone knocked on your door and harassed persons at their homes trying to collect payments and debt.  Screaming to your neighbors you are scum for not paying your debts.  IT SHOULD BE BANNED!  ONCE you are told only to use US MAIL all calls must STOP!  You can take the client to court if you feel you are owed money.  Yes, credit will be harder to get once these laws are passed, but trust me.  Creditors will always extend credit or they will go broke.  They want to charge you 29.9% interest rate, which should be banned by law as usury, but they will always extend credit or their business will not grow.  If you don't pay a bill it goes on your credit report for 7 years and you are punished with no credit or hard to get loans.  That will make consumers pay their billsor they won't get credit in the future, or at least the near future.  Most negative comments fall off in most states between 5 - 10 years, 7 being the average.
