My caller ID showed that 2 calls from "loan counseling" tel# 1-800-669-0102 came to my home.  They asked to speak to my son and said they were from Bank of America.  They would not leave a name or number for him to return the call.  I called the number on my caller ID and the voicemail announced that I had reached the "Home Retention Team".  They further revealed that they were a debt collector.  My son does not owe anything to Bank of America and is current on all other obligations.  So, why are they calling a number on the "Do not call" list?

I recently moved, and am in a rental house.  I have no connection at all with Countrywide, yet I get a barrage of calls from them originating from 2 or 3 different numbers.

This has to be illegal.  The message says it isn't a sales call, but it couldn't be anything else since I have no account with them (or anyone else for that matter).

Who should this be reported to?

Yeah, countrywide has called my cell # about 100 times in the last month. i just ignore the calls. when i called back i got the same automated system. Just ignore the calls and you'll be fine. i've never had a live person call me from countrywide because they don't have the guts.

Same comments as above, several times a day every day.  When I answer, no one speaks back.

Many phone calls at all hours of the day. I have no outstanding bills.

I have a mortgage with Country Wide/Bank of America and do not have to pay until the 15th of each month! Starting on the 4th they call me at random, sometimes 5 times in one day! I feel harrassed and the automated message says debt collector...like I am some criminal! I have never ever been late for a payment on my mortgage, or any bill for that matter. This is VERY annoying! I have placed a BBB report on them...hopefully that will help, but i doubt it! I want to refinance just to get away from them.

This Home Retention Team 800 number keeps calling my cell phone 2-3X's per day.

I want it to STOP, but when you call their number, you have to have an account number or a SSN in order to GET to speak with a PERSON, evidently.

Bank of America bought out Countrywide awhile back, so my loan statement says BOA with a number 1-800-669-4578 for their counseling program, which turned out to be Home Retention. I made what I thought was an agreement to sell house at short sale because I could not make payments due to my unemployment and they had sent an intent to foreclose notice to me. Immediately after I talked with them and gave them my phone number, this 800-669-0102 calls began. I will not acknowledge their call because I informed them of my situation and they instructed me what I could do (attempt short sale). Why is this debt collector calling me?  I refuse to respond because it is still Countrywide using their harrasing tactics under the name of Bank of America. I don't trust either one.

I want them to quit calling my number.

Call the # back, and at every voice prompt say "representative".  Eventually you'll get through to one.

I got through to a CSR, told her I don't have an account with BoA she said its "probably a promotional call."  I politely explained that I'm on the DNC list and don't want further promotional calls.  She asked me to hold.  10 minutes later I was still on hold, so I gave up.  Hopefully the calls will stop.

Called here 3 times today.  I finally picked up.  They told me they were from Bank of America and wanted to process my late mortgage payment from Countrywide.  1)  Mortgage payment isn't late.  2)  Never have processed a payment on my credit card.  When I said I would call Countrywide directly, she started stuttering and stammering, so I hung up.  Definitely an identity scam.  I included the number and the name of the "company" that showed on the caller ID.  HOwever, she said she was calling from Bank of America FOR Countrywide.  Hmmm...didn't know the two were so close.

The call is from Bank of America.  They recently purchased Countrywide so they are one in the same at this point.  If you are receiving a call it is either because you are over 4 days (or so) late on you mortgage payment or you have either paid or set up payment on your mortgage but still have some fees due that are above and beyond the mortgage payment (like an unpaid late fee).

Thanks for confirming who this was.  It's 9:42 AM and they have already called us 3 times.  I called them back and was sent to India ... I begged for them to send me to the USA - they gave me another person in India, I again asked to speak with a supervisor in the USA, they sent me to the Philipines ... Again I asked for a supervisor in the USA and they sent me back to India.  Finally after over an hour of being transferred and re-routed, I spoke to someone in the USA.  I asked them about the stimulis program and they said to fax a letter - which I have done 3 times ... they still call.  A more appropriate name for this company would be BANK OF INDIA!  I think that all Americans should get together and not do business with establishments who send our AMERICAN jobs to INDIA!  If we did that, just think how many more of us would havejobs and not be in this mess!  I've been looking for work for over a year with absolutely no luck -- I spoke with over 4 people in India and one I the Philipines - that's 5 jobs that you and I can have!

They call 5 times a day, asking for a co-worker who does not maintain an office at the corporate location. Different caller each time, usually foreign. I have asked them to please remove the corporate number, as it will not get them to the desired call recipient. They have not stopped calling.

They call my cell phone every hour by the hour now they are from bank of america they first ask for my account number then my social security number.
Where is the goverment control, why does'nt the FBI do something about this type of harrasment and abuse.
They have a heavy accent either from india or an african country.
Can someone do something.

This number calls my cell phone about 7 -10 times a day. It started to about once an hour today. I don't answer and they don't leave a message. I tried calling back today to make them stop calling. The recorded message is asking for my loan number or SS number but doesn't say from what company. They claim they are a debt collector. When I entered the wrong info to try to get to a person, it asks if I am a new client and then says it is transferring me to someone that will help and then hangs up on me.

this number keeps calling me i do not know who they are when i say hello they hang up on me when i called the # back to see who this was cause they have done this 6 times already today hanging up when i say hello it just tells me a dept collcetor? who are these people if they are calling on a past due payment they are only by law allowed to call 1 time aday they are calling me 10-12 times aday i do not have a loan with counrty wide i feel sorry for you if you do these people are harring me they need to stop.this co must be a scam.stop calling my #

I would recommend not answering this number if seen on caller id.  I complained to Bank of America to stop calling to no avail.  I would recommend closing all accounts you may have with Bank of America so they get the message.  Countrywide is owned by Bank of America.  This is a company that has received a Federal Bailout!!!!  Do business with a bank that is solid and does not call constantly.
