800-955-9060 is legit.  I called the number on the back of my Chase Sapphire card and they confirmed that they had tried to reach me, then transferred me to the Fraud Dept.

i can agree in this day in age you want to be careful. i called them back and they were able to tell me the last few charges. 1 i knew was right, the other i had no idea for but it was for $9 for "online purchase" so it was likely me. they said my card had been compromised and they needed to cancel the account immediately. after we were done i did poke around some and saw others thinking it's a scam. so i did the proper thing - called the # on the back, entered the last 4 digits of the old card, and was promptly told it was closed for security reasons.

so it's legit.

My son received a call from United Credit Card Fraud Prevention (800) 955-9060.  A United Ticket Agent told me that number is NOT United Fraud.

Well I don't know what to believe. Today got a message from "Solomon" from United Visa Fraud from asking me to call 800-955-9060. The irony is I do not have a United VIsa card, but figuring it might be a scam called to see what would happen.   The first thing the automated voice prompt  asked for was for you to enter your credit card number (all 16 numbers) and when I didn't, it put me on "hold"... thought it was very strange overall and so waited for five minutes - no answer - so hung up.

Again, remind folks to always call the regular number on their cards.

I received this exact message at my JOB and my CELL:

Hi, message for... ...My name is Maya, I'm calling from the fraud prevention dept of your chase visa credit card account.  We are calling to verify activity and we would appreciate it if you called us back at your earliest convenience.  Our call back number is 1-800-955-9060.  That's a 24 hour number and any representative at that number can assist you and please be ready with your account number when you call.  Again the phone number is 1-800-955-9060.  Thank you and we're looking forward to hearing from you.


I bet they are...

I received a call from the Fraud Detection unit of Chase Visa, for my Amazon.com credit card and they questioned a $10 charge because I only use this card on Amazon.com.  The charge was not valid so they told me to destroy the card and I would be issued a new card.

I found this website, and some of the people are saying this phone number is a scam, so I called the phone number on my credit card statement.  Chase verified that my account was just closed,  I was being issued a new card, and the $10 invalid charge was being reversed.

So it seems the 800.955.9060 number for the fraud detection group for Chase credit cards is valid.

What is wrong with some people?   Don't you have Internet access?   I got the message on my voicemail today.  I simply logged into my account and looked at the phone numbers listed for credit card services.  1-800-955-9060 is a valid number for Chase Credit Card Services.

 By the way, they did detect a fraudulent charge on my account.  Some potential scammer had sent a 60 cent test transaction to see if the card was valid.   It's not anymore!  Chase is on the ball!

The number is legit.  I was suspicious becuse the caller had given this and another similar number as a callback number.  I called the number on the back of the card rather than this number and was transferred to Fraud Operations.  They verified a charge to my card that I had not gonr through with due to a suspicious verification operation on the website.  They confirmed that I knew about the transaction but asked for no further information except to verify my identity.

This is a legitimate phone number. It is Chase Fraud Services.

This is 100% a scam, I was called by them today and Chase just told me it was a scam.

The Chase fraud number is 800 978 8664. There is no way Chase transferred you to the 9060 number.

So if you gave these nuts your card number and your SS#, good luck with that.

This is a Chase fraud #, and they called to report a suspicious charge.

Hard to believe that they are still using this number.

I understand why people are being cautious here, but this definitely isn't a scam. Still, if you are worried, just call the number on the back of your credit card instead.

800-955-9060 is totally legit. I don't get why people have story where Chase told them this is a scam, and some don't even bother to follow up, thinking this is a scam.

I had the same concern, and the person told me to call the number in the back of the card (he was not that polite by the way, adding to people's perception that this is fraud.). And it was proven legit once I did that.

Got a call from this number. They wanted to verify a couple of transactions which were legitimate charges. Only concern I had was that they asked me for the 3 digits on my card which I refused to give ! After the call I called the 1 800 listed number for Chase for fraud and they verified that the call I recieved was legit. Conclusion - this is a legit call !

I just the call this morning from fraud protection 800 955 9060 and called back and had the automated voice asking for my full credit card number--I thought for sure it is a scam but then called the number on back of my Visa and it IS NOT a scam. so, just always call the number on back of your card if you have doubts
