this is a legit number, it's ebay customer service....The people answering the phones were found by the freeway holding up cardboard signs that say: "Will man the phones for food", but idiots as they may be, the call is legit.

This morning I began receiving message alerts on ebay, although I didn't have any items for sale. I immediately tried to log in, but my password wasn't working. I attempted to reset my password, but another phone number was showing up as the number to send the reset code to.  I was finally able to get into the account via e-mail. As soon as I logged in, I saw that someone else had listed a camera that I recently purchased off of Ebay via my account. Within a couple of minutes, a message popped up saying that my account was suspended for unauthorized use. Within a few seconds of the suspension notice, I got four phone calls in a row from this number.  The first time I answered, no one responded.  The second time I answered, a guy said that he was from Ebay and saw that my account was suspended and that they needed my bank account number and ebay password in order to reinstate the account. I immediately hung up and called the Ebay customer help number listed on their website. They confirmed that the caller was a scam, and that someone had hacked my account causing it to be suspended. Whether this is an actual ebay number or not, I don't know, but I am sure that regardless of who the number belongs to, someone is using it for scamming purposes.

I've received several calls from this number; there is no Caller ID, and they don't leave messages. I don't answer unsolicited calls, but often do an Internet search to check them out. For those of you who think this is an Ebay number, I can't disprove it, and a real Ebay number can be spoofed. If you believe people who are skeptical and concerned about scams, are being "paranoid," I'm on their side. 1. Area code 801 is NOT a toll free number so calling them back will cost you. 2. If this really is Ebay and they want to persuade you to increase doing business with them, why not show a Caller ID or leave a message?  3. Why is Ebay calling some people that don't even have accounts? 4. Being cautious is not being "paranoid" in the current environment of unethical and often criminal phone scams. Therefore, I feel this call is either a scam or very inappropriate.

Was a legit call telling me a buyer wanted me to cancel his order.

My eBay account was hacked. This number called me shortly after resetting my password and cancelling a listing that was not mine.

I was speaking to an EBAY customer service representative and she said, "ok, we'll call you back at the number you have on file 801-545-1800. THAT IS NOT MY PHONE NUMBER!!!!!!!!

I received a phone call today from this number in the USA and was left a message about discussing my account and updating it I blocked the number

They said they were from eBay and asked me for my birth date and address from 20 years ago (as well as my current address & phone number). Seems pretty unprofessional to start with that - even for a scammer.

Received also a phone call from this number
