To all people who are complaining about receiving txt messages from 81002.

You need to contact your mobile phone provider and state that you want a block put on this number so they cannot contact you anymore. My 11 year old daughter had the same problem, they were txting her and for every txt sent, they were charging £1.50 and we had to foot the bill!!
You need to give them YOUR permission to do this.
    Hope this helps.

My 12 year old daughter had a similar problem, I have a £7 a month contract with 3 which she uses. Since 31/03/11 when she apparently responded to a text sent by Zamano for games/wallpapers etc I have been charged in the region of £80. I got the phone number for Zamano which uses the premium text code 81002 from my phone provider 3. Despite repeated attempts to contact Zamano on a national rate phone number, which starts off with a recorded message and the cuts off to an engaged signal,I phoned 3 and  got them to put  me through. I spoke to what sounded like a synthisized American machine (as if anything could be worse!) and they have taken my details and promised a full refund in 5 working days, as my daughter is a 'minor'. Give it a go yourself! They are scum and need taking down!!!

I am a business owner with 3 O2 mobile phones.  One of the phone bills was unusualy high, I looked at the breakdown and saw 3 texts to 81002 within seconds of each other, each text costing £1.25.  These have been taken for 3 weeks - 3 texts a week.

On investigation I called the Zamano customer number 0845 2252244 and entered the mobile number this related to.  Although the company is registered in Dublin, this number takes you to the offshore customer service helpline in the Phillipines.  A very nice helpful lady called Diane Brown - ext 14494 advised that this mobile had subscribed to their Red Circle service which allows downloads of video's wallpaper, ringtones etc..

I explained that this mobile is used by my father who is 67 yrs old, registered disabled, and described as frequently confused at best.  This phone was chosed because it had BIG buttons and has had all internet access de-activated and blocked by O2 to reduce confusion for him.  How could he have 'accidentally cliked a link' as she suggested.

I advised I have just unsubscribed (by sending STOP ALL to 81002) and that I wanted a full refund.

She advised she would send this request to their head office, and if successful I would receive a refund via cheque in 5 working days.

I explained that if I did not receive a satisfactory resolution to this I would be taking it to trading standards and any other regulatory body deemed relevant.  I look forward to receiving  full refund in due course.

Despite Diane assuring me my fathers mobile number would be blocked for future texts, 5 minutes later he received the following text...

free msg : you are not subscribed! but why not get d addictive SIMS 2 game. text FAN56449 to 81002. manager the life, love and moods of your sim now! costs 6GDP

More unsolicited texts....  I shall be forwarding this to the relevant bodies for investigation.

I would suggest anyone who has fallen foul of this should call or email Zamano and demand a full refund.

I was getting txts from Zing after I tried a 'quiz' online and on a pay as you go phone so Ididn't know that I was being charged £1.50 for every txt and 3 were sent every month. I just went onto a contract and found out by looking at my bill that I was being charge for the txts. I have sent a stop message to 81002 so hopefully that's it fixed as I recevied a txt saying I was unsubscribed.

    Thanks for the info everyone.

Re: 81002.  My mobile phone bill shows charges for two messages sent, and three received. The latter were all received at 11.19 earlier this month and the first sent item from me was 11.18.. The total charge was £3.916.
Without incurring further charges, how can I find out who or what is 81002 and what do they do?

Same problem, just replied STOP ALL to one of their text and got text back "Freemsg, You have been unsubscribed from the service.", Fingers crossed. What a rip off job. Had long chat with Vodafone who did not take any responsibility for letting 3rd party take money from me via their bill. I doubt if I can ever get a refund. Another £11.25 waisted.

I have now also sent two emails, one to cs@zamano.com and another one through the "contact us" link om zamanosolutions.com demanding that they stop sending me text and sent me a refund.
    Let's see what happens.

Re 81002: Just found my son has had 6 messages from them and wiped out his credit for school. I have sent the STOP ALL message to them and got the "unsubscribe message" back from them. Orange couldn't or wouldn't do anything about this. To me it would seem sensible to allow blocking of these numbers for children who really don't need these services or gimmicks....especially at £1.50 a shot. The first we discover is that he has no credit on his phone which could be dangerous. I'll be having a word tomorrow as he didn't understand where all his money had gone and neither did I till I found out about 81002. Mmmmmm....... Lesson learned!

P.S. thanks for the information on this site. Got to the bottom of what was happening.
