Zingtone came up on my computer and said I won a phone and I should put in my phone number, at which they will contact me. When I put in the number, i got a text of a pin number to enter it on the webpage. when I did, then I got a text on my phone that I will be charged 4.50pounds weekly to get ringtones, and downloads, of which I did not sign up for.  Now I am getting texts everyminute how I should top up, so that they can take this money off the card. This is a rip-off. I did not bargain for this. Now I want to text STOP to the number given to me, but dont know if it will work. In addition, I am afraid that as soon as I put credit on the phone to text the number, it is going to eat out the credit before I get a chance to send the text. How can I get rid of this thing with zingtone.

Been tricked by offer of winning a smart phone from zingtone, then bombarded with texts.
Tried Stop (with capital "S" ) but didn't work. Tried the 0845 number and told I was unsubscribed.
Guess what ?? I wasn't so resorted to changing my mobile number, a complete pain and will not be entering any more competitions like this again. Complete rip off

hello all you people that have had money stolen from them by zing/zamano, just had a few interesting conversations with orange, ofcom and phonepayplus. basically we are being RIPPED OFF

CALL PHONEPAYPLUS MAKE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE COMPANY, I CAN SEE BY ALL THESE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE THAT IF WE ALL DO THIS THEN PHONEPAYPLUS WILL HAVE TO DO SOMETHING AGAIN AGAINST ZING/ZAMANO

Our mobile providers make money from these companies who are ripping us off, although I was told by Orange that they do not, considering that the young lady could not tell me the CEO head office address or contact details[found these on the internet myself]

Phonepayplus lady contacted zing for me while I was still on the phone, she came back saying that I had subscribed and received a e-mail[for an iphone] I had not signed up to anything she asked me to provide details that I hadn't, I asked her to ask zing to prove that I had she is going to send the information[if this actually proves anything] will let you know what happens.

Zamano was taken to court before and was fined with only 94 complaints, I am quiet sure this site and other sites have many more complaints.

I have a pay-as-you-go iPhone with O2.  I mainly use the phone for text messaging.  I don't use it very much for Internet.  Until recently, the charges were reasonable and I was only having to top up every now and again.  I usually top up about £10 each time.  All of a sudden, my top-ups seem to be getting chewed up very quickly.  No sooner have I topped up, than within a couple of days it starts disappearing at a rapid rate of knots.  Being a relative novice at mobile phones, I hadn't got a clue what was going on.  I thought it must be the messaging that was doing it.   I phoned O2 a couple of weeks ago and the customer service person I spoke to said it was because I was using the Internet a lot.  He said he would change things to reduce the costs.  Whatever he did (which I have to admit I didn't understand), it seemed to work because my messaging costs seemed reasonable again.  But it has now started happening again.  I phoned O2 again and this time, the person said it was because another company is sending me texts thatv I don't know about. He said they would investigate and get back to me within 5 days.  He also told me to text "stop" to 81002.   I now realise it is Zing that is sending me the messages and charging me for them.  I have never signed up for anything with them.  I don't know who they are but they should be stomped on good and hard.
