I have received 27 hang-up calls in the last 9 days from this number. The ID is CITIBANK, and I have contacted CitiBank. They said it is a real number for them. It's from some place in Kentucky. I don't even have an account with them.

These have got to be the stupidest people in the world - they call multiple times a day - caller ID shows FLORENCE, KY.  You try and answer and there is absolutley no one there however there must be someone with some snap b/c when you don't answer and they hear your ans machine message they do actually hang up......Have reported the problem (ON MY BLEEPING DIME) to them but evidenlty no one seems to care or they would have done something by now.  My understanding too is most debt collection calls are on a quota system so someone is not making a (bleeping) dime off these unconnected calls either.  This is suposed Citi and as someone else posted...no wonder they're going broke if they're this stupid.....

OMG I recd atleast 20 calls a day on this number even after i paid them off.

Don't recognize origin of number other than "Kentucky". Calls come in at least four or more times per day. Don't understand substance or nature of said calls as there is no message left on answering service. Glad to know not the only person receiving calls. Will not respond not knowing nature of call.

I get no response also and texted them back as Do Not Call again. What else can be done?

It's phishing. Never give personal info. Make them verify who they are, not who you are.

It's not a scam.  it is citicard.   forgot to make a payment, and called the actual # on the back of my card instead of dealing with this number. paid off the balance and they  said calls would stop in an hour.

How do we get it stopped

Someone from this number 859-283-8074 calls me about 8 times a day and then we get disconnected immediately.  I am so tired of it and do not owe any money to anyone.

I keep getting these calls with the message they are not trying to sell something..just talk to me about mt private labe card.  They left this number for me to return a call 1-888-279-2426..I am NOT calling them back because I have only a bank card and discover that I NEVER USE..WHEN I DO, I PAY IT OFF IMMEDIATELY.
This must be a scam....I owe no one anything!!!  Thank goodness!

Calling me 6-10 times a day....even Saturdays and Sundays! No one is ever there, and no message is left if I don't answer...also on the Do Not Call registry....I have no business with Citicard, and/or Shell!!!!  How do we stop these people from this type of harrassment?

We've been getting 10 to 12 calls PER DAY from this caller. Caller ID says "Citicard" and we have no accounts with them.

I work at Philomath Police Department, in Philomath, Oregon.  Several weeks ago this department began receiving phone calls from 859-283-8074.  Most of the time there is no one there, occasionally an unidentified person asks for someone by name.  When told that person is not here, the call goes dead.  Nobody has ever identified themself, why they call or what they want.  This department receives on an average of 5 calls per day.

this could be handled so quickly if they would leave a message rather than calling 5 or 6 times a day.  i do not answer if if i don't recognize the caller.

Received 3 calls today (Kentucky) as missed calls.  Answered the 4th call and no one spoke. After reading all the posts below, I can' t wait until they ask for personal information.

I'd like to hear how the security phone line have access to records that brings up acct information, the reason for calls is that someone have a credit card which the phone number have been posted on, your best recourse, is to call back, provide with the  phone number, state first and last name, the information will be posted in the acct and explaining why the phone number have been removed off the acct, and that is how calls are stopped. The security phone line does not do these things.
Second card members with citi are complete morons that should not have accts from the beginning, clearly.

According to the credit collection laws, calls can be made up to 8 times per day, if you have more than one acct, start counting the calls if you are delinquent.
