i was told to keep pushing the pound key it will screw the automatic caller,one other thing the last time this happend was few yrs ago i had a collection agency always looking for a certain person i told them they were deceasd never got any more calls it does work better then the pound key

Got call looking for "Myra Gurrerra", I have gotten calls for this person for 3 years, always from a collection agency.  Irritating!

they called me with a credit card bill from 2001 said i owed $1800but if i paid within the next 7 days would only pay .35 cents on the dolloar BullS#@$

the do not call list does only pertain to solicitaions they are not sellign anything. they are just doign their job dont get so upset if it is a wrogn number answer the phone and tell them its not a psychic network they dont know that the number they are tryign to call has been reassigned  3 times since it was who they are looking for...

got a call from this woman who said she was with some law firm i never heard of..She tried collecting a debt frommy bankruptsy 6 years ago. I tried to explain the Virginia law states this is an uncollectable debt.  she wouldnt stop.... i finally had to say F..K you... take me to court you hoar

I just started getting calls from these people too.  I'm not planning on calling them but I'm pretty sure they're trying to collect zombie debt, because that's all I have!  But for all of you who don't know how to get them to stop calling, just call and pleasantly find out their address, or google it, or whatever, or have them send you a letter, and then send them a "cease and desist" letter.  You can google that, too, (check out creditinfocenter.com) and once you have sent it CERTIFIED RETURN RECEIPT for proof, they won't send you any more letters or call you unless they are notifying you that they are suing you.  If they do contact you for any reason other than that, or to tell you they are dropping your file, you can sue them for $1000 under the FDCPA.

Yeah, these [***] even call us up in Canada... Same [***], no new story... Bet alot of people get spooked by this kind of crap.

These jerks called me concerning a credit card bill (which I had already taken care of with the company) from many months ago!!

Told me, "You owe such and such, but we would be willing to accept half to settle this debt??"

Stevens & Michaels (or however they're spelled) is not a legitimate company.  They are scammers, who, in my case, asked for a typo deviation of my name that I first saw on the numerous "YOU'VE BEEN PRE-APPROVED FOR A CREDIT CARD!" in 2003, and I then subsequently encountered two years ago when I learned my identity had been stolen under that name and I own a house and car I never knew of.  There are a lot of these scumbags out there.  A Thomas Landis fooled me two years ago and I made six payments to them before wising up.  His number, too, is found by google, as was this one.  I guess I'm going to have to play along and ask for an address to which to send my payments... ;)

I forgot to mention... Landis, when I stopped paying, would call and hang up after the second ring.  I decided if they can do that, I can, too.  I called them something like eight times, at all times, during the next day, trying to hang up before the phone identified me to them, but the phone was picked up a couple of times and I just hung up.  I haven't heard from them, since.
Oh, this one, stevens and michaels, left a message with a phone number and their business hours on the east coast.

Caller stated "this is an important message for Clifford Plante".  Sounds bogus to me.

phone # keeps calling but refuses to caller ID themselves, looks like a scam  likes a scam then its a scam. plus i do not answaer any dumb sob who refuses to id them selves. that means they have someting to hide.

got a call from Stevens and Michaels Law Firm.  They want almost $1000 for an old ATT debt that my wife owes.  First of all, we have never had ATT Phone Service.  Second off all, they are not able to provide any account info.  When asked, they get angry and demand the money.  Sounds like a prison boiler room operation to me.

Called asking to collect on a credit card debt I would've had to have made when I was twelve. Hung up on them.

Not sure why these folks call...and why they leave a VM and not a persons name.....I have a fairly common name...and when a real person calls with a credit question, we can figure out that my DOB and SSN (which I do not offer) are wrong)

Its stephens and michaels association they have a website just google the name. Just started gettn calls im 21 and has never had any bills or credit cards they say i owe them 1200 for an unpaid car loan and they want the vehicle lol

The do-not-call list doesn't apply to these scumbags because they're not trying to sell you anything. They just told me their client was NCO -- the collection agency who is trying to collect on a debt of mine that is something like 12 years old! I told them the statute of limitations in NY is 6 years and they can't do a thing to my credit rating, but they don't care. I told them that I was adding them to my forthcoming bankruptcy (despite denying I own this debt) and they STILL don't care. I think they believe if they wear down a person and harass them enough, maybe they'll get us to pay to get them off our backs! What they're doing is harassment, plain and simple, and it's illegal when they start getting nasty (as my last caller just did -- she was a [***]!), but good luck filing complaints and getting them off your back. It takes shows like 20/20 to expose these morons for what they are: a legal form of harassment. I think I'm going to call the FTC (and the BBB) like the poster above suggested!

These Dick Lickers keep calling my dad. he tried to research them, but i guess he didn't find this page. Too bad for these [***], cause I did! we will now both be calling the FTC! Just like always, never fool around with hard working red blooded AMERICANS and their money!

hey everyone..all you need to do is call this number back...over and over and over again, when they answer just hang up and call again!! over load their system. If we all do this we can drive them crazy.
