Although charities are exempt from the "Do Not Call" registry, they are still required to put you on their internal "Do Not Call" list if you request it.  Make sure to insist on this before letting them off the phone.

Received a call from 866-311-7847 just as I was walking in the door and grabbed the phone without checking Caller ID.  Initially, there was no caller on the other end of the line and I was about to hang up when a voice said "hello" ... sensing that it was some kind sales call, I inquired in a pretty snippy tone "what do you want?".  She then mispronounced my name and I corrected her.  The woman on the other end of the line accused me of "being pretty rude" and hung up on me.  (Hey, in the privacy of my home and on my phone I can be as pleasant or as rude as I want to be ... I was mild in comparison to what I could have been.)

I called the number back and got a voice recording that it was Breast Cancer something or other ... I left a message for a 'manager type' to give me a call back with an apology.  Until I get some kind of apology, I can continue to report their number on any board that I can find or am a member of.

If you get a live PIG [***], tell them You do nto support cancer companies the divert 80 percent to admin level - and in fact tell them you Lost to many relitives to even belive they can do anythign at all,a nd tell them to REMOVE your number, or they will face LEGAL hell - then SLAME the phone - if you get more call, AIR HORN them, blow there ears off, they will get the point after to many stop showing for work.

These pig [***] are in total violation of the DNC< they are not even in legal call list execptions, not to mention these pigs call AFTER the legal hours - making them OVER SEAS PIGS< BUIRN THEM TO HELL where tel marketers belong.

They called yesterday and I googled and found this sight.  They called tonight and asked for my ex-wife.  I told them she was dead.  Then they asked how she died???? I told them breast cancer.  Then they asked for a donation.  I told them no thanks, I didn't really like her anyway.

Got this call earlier today, no message, first time from this donation that i know of.  Didn't answer, looked up number and found out what they were here.  

PEOPLE, PLEASE NOTE:  I am also on the do-not-call registry list, but CHARITIES are exempt from this list and can still make 'sales calls' for suckers who want to give their money to adminstrators.

Ask for a supervisor and ask to be taken off their list.  If you can, find out where they got your number from in the first place and squelch that problem too, as many times your phone number is sold to these charities and companies for a fee by others like say, your local bank.

I get calls almost daily from them looking for a donation.  I have spoken to them and declined to make a donation, as my financial situation has taken a turn for the worse.  And yet, they still call me almost everyday (which I don't even answer anymore).  I am almost sorry I ever donated to them to begin with!

I get calls from this number almost everyday.  Around 4pm and 8:45pm when my kids are trying to sleep.  I usually don't answer, but when they call me several times a day I answer to tell them to stop calling, no one answers and they just hang up. Seems odd that a Breast Cancer Society would be using an "unknown name" cover up when calling.  866 numbers are so easy to get - NO ONE should be giving any information to these so-called donation solicitors.

Got the same call from this number from time to time. I figure if it's important they can leave a message. Maybe we all should start calling them around the clock for weeks non-stop and maybe they will get the hint.

This toll free and some other like this are calling my home tel# on a daily basis for more than 3 or 4 months. I have reported to the donotcall.gov site but never received a feedback. I am really upset with all this calls. Recently we had a medical situation at home and we need to answer the calls just in case and this unconsiderate people keep calling and calling, even sometimes I answered and ask to not call anymore. Uses an automated dialing system. You can tell because you pick and say Hello and they don't hear it. You have to say hello again.

Said they want to mail me a plege card for Breast Cancer. When I asked to be removed she started saying more stuff about the cause. When I said again that I wanted to be removed, she said "I was just in the process of doing that.", somewhat rudely, to which I replied, and how would I know that from you continuing to try and sell me on your cause...? I then hung up.

I did *69 to get their number. The best thing you can do is request to be removed and make a note of it. If they call again you can sue them. The other options are to keep them on the phone as long as possible and waste their time, or if you can find a pay phone, call them and keep them on the line for about 3 minutes. Calling them this way makes them pay a hefty fee for taking the call.

Sounds like a commercial operation collecting for Breast Cancer. These operations work just like the old telephone "boiler rooms" that sold anything they could push on you. They do give part of the money to the charity, but they keep a percentage of the donations, sometimes a substantial percentage. This is why they are rude, they don't make any money if they don't get a donation from you.

Listen the best thing in the world is a talking caller id. Anything that is an 800 series # is called "ate zelozelo service." Annoying sometimes? Yes but I hate telemarketers more.

I called the number back and left a message they either remove my # from their list or I will seek legal action. I DONATE to local chapters already.
