These guys have called many times already even though we are on the DNC list.  When I pick up the phone they do not say anything (they seem to be hoping for my wife to pick up).

I did not pick up and no message left on voice mail!

I just received a call from this number. I didn't answer as it was an "unknown name".  On my message machine, a woman asked for me by name but did not say why she was calling.

This # is a hoax bringing the name of Breast Cancer Society! Do not ever fall into it!

I received a call from this number yesterday[sunday oct 12th]Dont know what they wanted.Didnt leave message on machine.Any one know if this type of call is allowed on sundays?

I did not answer (I never do when unknowns call), letting the recorder pick it up - no message, no sound of any kind, then hung up. Second call this month of this type - same outfit, different number.

The call is from the Breast Cancer Society.  I understand people's frustration with these calls; I'm here because I wanted to verify the source of the call.  However, those of you suggesting that 80% of the donation goes to administrative costs don't know what you're talking about.  If anyone needs information on a charity, you can go to the Better Business Bureau or Charity Navigator.  Don't trash an organization just because you don't like the call.  You end up being no better than the organization making the calls.

First, bogus companies do not abide by the DNC list as most of them are calling from outside the country anyway. If it is a legit charity, they will be playing by all the rules as they do not want to be fined by the FCC.

It is illegal for any telemarketer be it charity or something else to not display proper caller-id information and also illegal to call after 9PM. Anyone who does not remove you at your request within 30 days is breaking the law.  Everyone needs to go to fcc.org and file a complaint. They will be able to fine the company for EACH occurance.

found out that 100% of your donation will go only to breast cancer patients if you mail it directly to the Breast Cancer Society Organization in Mesa, AZ

I do not answer Toll Free Calls but these people do not give up!  My caller ID shows that they called 5 times in one day and they call every day.

Asked for my mother, then husband then anyone.. simply replied.. nope.
God, I love having my number not listed.

They should clearly ID themselves on the phone.
From now on, any UNKNOWNS get defaulted to the machine.

Asked for "Joseph", knew something was up because I go by "Joe".  I said he wasn't home.  Caller said he would call back later.  Would not leave a message

Breast Cancer Society. Told woman we had donated the other day at work. She refused to take that as answer. Was very rude.

I think it was "National Breast Cancer Society" purportedly raising $$ for "supplies for breast cancer patients". They had my address wrong. I declined making a pledge.

do not call this number again. Beside she addressed me by a wrong name.  And kept on talking; so I hung up.... They (the society; that if it is one)shut down if they are not calling the rightful peron on the other end of the their call.

call came in and no one was on the other line then it disconnected.

Keep getting calls from this number even though we are on DO NOT CALL list. Very annoying. This should stop.

I finally answered after 6 months of being called sometimes several times a day. The transcript:
