I have been getting these calls for a girl i used to work wih. she used my name for a reference and i have called them back several times and asked them not to call me any longer, but they still do.

Someone gave a bad number (my number) now they call every day for some girl I don't know. Have called 20 times in last 3 days. I have called and explained to them that I do not know her and to stop calling. They say thier taking my number off the list however I get still get calls. I'm contacting the FCC with all the info from my cell, both calls I have made to them and calls they have been making to me. Something needs to be done. And the managers need to treat people with respect. If nothing gets done maybe I'll make a trip to Columbus myself.

I get calls at work everyday from this unknown number (866-354-0567) and finaly I amswered it. The guy identified himself as being from check smart and wanted to talk about my loan. I NEVER TOOK OUT A LOAN FROM THEM! I told the guy and he said "oh!" and hung up.

Ok. You guys are a bunch of whiners.  Number one, if you take out a tile loan which is a secure loan on your car's title, your car can be repod. Number 2, if you don't write bad checks and pick up your loan when you are supposed to, you will not have any problems and you won't have to talk to the "over paid babysitters" at the corporate office that have to call grown adults and tell them to pay their bills.  None of you losers were complaining about Checksmart when you borrowed the money, were you? No. You skipped out of the store with a fistfull of hundred dollar bills like you won the lottery. We helped you buy food, medicine, and whatever else you used that money for. Now, do the right thing. Pay it back and quit your whinning

This number is Checksmarts corporate office. I currently have a line of credit with them and I went in to make my payment, but they were still calling me. I have call block on my phone so they have to unblock their number, but the name comes up as 800-service.  I finally called the number back and they put me on hold 3 times after asking for my name and phone number, then I get transferred to a different person each time I'm on hold. I finally got fed up, and told the next person, that I'm tired of being put on hold, and that I do not want to listen to their lousy music playing, and I need to know who they are, because all they say on their message is they are calling for an important matter and to call them back.
I asked him how hard is it to tell me the name of their company? He finally looked up my information and told me that they are calling for a payment, and when I told him I already went in and made a payment, he said he will note it in the account, so I don't get anymore calls. UGGGGHHH, they are so freakin 'annoying.
You have to get mean and nasty right back with them, because once they know you're weak and that they can bring you down easy, they will keep calling, and keep talking nasty to you.

To all you stupid people(employees of checksmart)that are on here talking about pay your loan, and blah, blah, blah. I've had several calls from bill collectors looking for the person who had my phone number before me, or they just have wrong numbers period,  so you are the STUPID IDIOTS, calling peoples homes assuming that people don't move, and people don't change phone numbers.

Get a REAL JOB, and maybe you'll be nicer to customers because you'll be getting paid more.

Hey Jack@ss... Guess what... I do have a real job.. I get a real paycheck and I pay my real bills... Unlike these losers and whiners I have to deal with 8 hours a day. You had a job when you borrowed the money  months ago... and we tried to allow you to make arrangements.. you decided to not pay, Now I have to act like your Mom and Dad and try to teach you that adults have to take responsibility for their actions. I hear the same sob story a hundred times a day. I call the same people back the next day, and they think I'm a different person and they tell me a totally different story, I call them out on their lie, and I become the @ss h0le. Isn't the world grand.

Checksmart has got to be the most low life of collectors I have ever seen. I am a collector so I know what to say and how to say it, unlike some of these poor souls that they call. I got a new cell phone number about 4 months ago, and about 4 months ago Checksmart corporate offices starting calling me. Telling me I was Sara, and I was lying and they will make me pay my bad debts! with a 790 credit score, I don't think I have bad debts! I pay my bills, this is case if mistaken identity. So people, read up on the FAIR COLLECTION LAWS! they are out there and these scum bags who claim they are "Real" collectors with CheckSmart have NO right to do 2/3's of what they do...but it is up to you the debtor to do something about it! You may owe a debt, but you are still human and you still have rights!

This number belongs to a check cashing place.  I called this place when I lost my job to inform them I wouldn't have the money to pay the loan back.  They told me I had to let the check I wrote bounce first before making arrangements to pay it back.  I put a stop payment on it and waited for their phone call.  When they called they wanted full payment, I tried to explain to them that I didn't have the full balance and I needed to pay in payments.  They wouldn't except anything other the full balance.  Since I didn't have the money to pay them back I get the calls all day long even after I spoke to someone.  I will continue to make any payments I can to get it paid while dealing with the annoying phone calls.

i talk to a gy name mr hill well i told them my problem a lady rote me a check for a truck i was selling. she gave me a deposit on it. and i didnt want too but i did. becaus i had a friend that needed money. so i cash it at a check smart in morain ohio on alex bell road. if it wasnt so late that day i would have just took it to my bank and cash it. well to make a long story short lady wanted the title to the truck and i told her by law that i had to give it to her in 30 days thats wy they have 30 day tags. so she tells me if she dont have her title that weak she wouldnt finsh paying for the truck and put a stop payment on the check she gave me. so i called check smart and told them she mite put a stop payment on it and they had all ready had the check 3 days and they said the funds were there and i said okay. well guess what they call me 3 days later. and say the lady put a stop payment on the check. so i said wy didnt you didnt you cash it you had all weak to do it. no respons from them. but this look if you dont pay this back we will put you in jail theft by deseption mr taylor. so in respons to that i said you need to call her not me i didnt rite the check and bounce it she did. they said sorry you cash it not her. so i said can i pay you a 100 a weak they said no pay it all and a extra 50 or we will put you in jail. so just to let you know how they work i have seen some places that do have the police call you and say if you dont pay it that day. that they would prosucute you. i realy dont know what the law is in regard to this. i tried to make a arange ments with them but they wouldnt take a 100 a waek on it. can you beleav that. they are the bigest peaces of crap i ever met in my life i love to stick every one them turkys at that check smart at the corprit office in a boxing ring with me. i give them 500 bucks trust me all the way to the bank. well we will just have to see what happens and last thing chech smart you can kiss my blank. becaus you have no problem riping people off and charging them your fee jerk ofs they can kiss my blank they talk to me like a dog. and there lucky there on a phone talking to me like that them little piss ants. becaus i love to step on them

o just got off the phone with dan he said they have a warrant for my arest to put me in jail. and they were going to cach me off gard and get me. and put me in jail and said i am riting down you to refuse to pay this. i said no i never said that. but i will pay a 100 a weak on the check i said. he said no see you in jail. and thats when i  hung up on him. are you all sure they cant put you in jail over this in ohio

These people must really get a kick out of yelling and cutting you to shreds. It happened five times last weekend,and twice yesterday,the second time I started yelling back,and the little weenie hung up! I wonder how brave he would be in person?

I am constantly receiving phone calls from this number for a previous employee's pay day loan. The worst part is that every time I try to explain the situation, the person on the other end simply hangs up on me. I understand that they have a job to do, but have a little common courtesy. At least PRETEND to listen! I've called their number back several times only to be told the same thing - "it's an autodialer" and "we'll remove it." Uh-huh. Guess I'll be expecting their call again tomorrow.

I actually just had an interview at the corporate office for Checksmart for a collections position. These people are rude!!!!! DO NOT take money loans from this place because they will call you everyday to harass you. I walked out of there disgusted from the way they spoke to people. They don't care about your financial problems- they work on commission so when you finally pay is when they get paid. So yeah, definitely don't deal with them. At All. Ever.

hey pete, you have some nerve voicing your imponions about loafing aqround , stop watching tv and eating what you call bonsbons???????? let me remind you millions of us that had a good i thought a good secure job that we  (NOT YOU) thought that we where financially secure with our jobs then the next thing you know,I did not know people like you are ression proof ! we are in a ression and let me REMIND YOU that a lot of people did not get into this spot because the fact that you said that to get a job and pay your bills IS easier said then done. maybe people are not a millionare like you...... thousands of people have lost there jobs, there homes and there lifes..... so if i were you, i think before you open your mouth and saying these thinge about people. these people dId not loose everything because they wanted to stop paying there bills. The first call I received was on 10/12/09 at 8pm from CashOne/CheckSmart (both company names were used).  The caller asked for someone other than myself.  I began asking questions about how he got my number, and he said that the applicant wrote my name and number down as a reference.  I recognzed the applicant to be my cousin but don't know why he would've given out my mobile number.  The caller said he tried to reach my cousin, called me after he couldn't, and wanted me to get my cousin to call back the 866 number.  I spoke with my cousin, who had no idea about CashOne/CheckSmart or how they got my mobile number.  CashOne/CheckSmart called a second time on 10/18/09 at 12pm.  I let it go to voice mail, and they left a voice message to have my cousin call them.  They called a third time on 11/2/2009 at 4:30pm and didn't leave a message.

I never took out a loan, and a collection agency shouldn't be calling me.  They just called today 11/11/09 at 1:38pm and didn't leave a message.  I submitted a complaint online at FTC.gov.

Lol I used to WORK for these people, BRIEFLY, I might add, as the majority of the people in the office are just as rude, if not more so, than the above comments suggest. I remember overhearing a supervisor say to a woman, " your death in the family means nothing to me " and then continued loudly, verbally abusing the woman. Calls like that happened almost daily. I have never, EVER been that type of collector and was appalled at the fact that this type of behavior was not only ok in the office, but actually encouraged and rewarded. I once had to talk a poor man out of suicide after he had spoken to one of the other collectors, I QUIT! And the owner is just as crazy as his company. He would come into the office, cursing and swearing at the supervisors and employees at the top of his lungs. There was one time where he straight up fired everybdy in the office. Crazy people. Don't get caught up with payday advances!!!!!!!!!!!

They even call on Christmas! They are still calling, even though I told them I would be coming in to pay the loan this evening. They are still calling my parents home, work, and my cell phone. This is ridiculous!!! I will never borrow from them again. I would rather starve until payday than to borrow money against my check again. I couldn't pay it on the due date since my employer was late paying me.

I was reading that the person that wrote this is the owner's wife, Esmeralda. I think we all should think again about doing business with Checksmart if this is how professional they are towards their customer. Read her comment below.
