Just called 1-800-DISCOVER (347-2683). They told me this number, 866-831-4847, belongs to their Marketing Department. They agreed to take my home phone number off their call list. They said this process may take a week or so. So let's make calls to DISCOVER.

These calls are being made from a cellular or computerized phone number.  I receive calls several times a day, seven days a week, never leaves a message.

I am on the National, No Call List - Maybe that is why they never leave a message and hope I will call them back - No Chance in %*!@#!*!. Sounds like a loop hole in the system:  You call them back and they can then say they were not soliciting you - what a Scam.....

When the caller finally responded to my 'HELLO' they asked for my husband and I asked who was calling they said that they were 'Steve from Discover Card'. They've called my home everyday, multiple times a day (6 times on 12-14-07) without leaving a message on our answering service. My telephone number is 'unlisted'.

Being on the NO CALL list doesn't protect you from telemarketing efforts of companies you do business with, such as Discover Card.  The only way to stop getting calls from this number isto contact Discover and tell them you do not want ANY telemarketing calls from the company.

I work nights and they call almost every morning and wake me up and I let the answering machine pick it up and no one ever says anything. Please take my number off of this list.

They called our business today.  I asked to caller to please repeat the question in english, since I could not understand her.  She repeated herself about 3 times then I hung up on her.

I too found through Google it was Discover Card calling from 866-831-4847 and leaving no message. Because we have an account with them I called and asked to be taken off their Sales and Marketing Call list. The lady I spoke with was very understanding and said she would process my request right away. Telemarketers are people who are just trying to make ends meet like the rest of us. If we are kind to them they will no doubt extend mutual kindness to us when we call and ask to be removed. We usually reap what we sow!

I also get these calls. Sometimes they are Discover Card and then last night it was for a credit report and they would charge us $15 per month...LOL You have got to be kidding me right? This is a total scam and these people need to be stopped. I am sending this info to the Attorney General of my state - maybe they can do something because nothing else seems to be working.
I also have Comcast and have blocked them as of today. Hopefully it will work.
Maybe I should send it to my local news station also...

I have been hounded by this number as well and looked on this website for help.  The message above from 2001 is correct.  This is a call from Discover to get you to sign up for a new credit card with them ... as if I ever would now!!  As stated all you have to do is call 1-800-Discover when the message comes on just hit 0 and it will take you to a service rep.  Tell them you want off their list immediately and they will handle that for you.  Thanks 2001!!

I got 3 calls within an hour.  I called DISCOVER and got removed from their do not call list.

Correct - I got put onto their do not call list, a cell phone # yet.  They must use random digit dialing.

This number called. There was only silence on the line. I Called back. The automated response was that I had been contacted for marketing research or a sales call. No other way to stop them.

caller asked to speak to my husband, I advised her that he was not here and could i take a message and she replied "you b***h" and hung up on me.  I googled the number and with the help of this site, I called Discover and spoke with the customer care line who apologized and researched the issue. He advised me that the phone number is actually a third party net blue and he would forward complaint to them.  He apologized over and over.

The caller identified himself as Joe from ???????. He asked me if I was???? and I said "Yes". Then I asked, Who did you say you were with? He responded by saying this is a friendly call from Discover...then hung up!

We continuously get calls from this number. In the begenning it came up as Brett something.  The guy was VERY RUDE.  Now it just comes up as 866-831-4847

I have received calls from this number and there is never a message.

Keep getting calls; however, leave no messages to find out who they are.  Call everyday!!!

They have called alot, and many times a day, even late. I have not answered it but they do leave a message.
