It is DISCOVER CARD, you need to call them and have them take you off their lists.  Its almost like they are creditors trying to track you down for money.  They make me sick.

They call everyday at least 2-3 times a day.  Don't answer when I pick up and don't leave message on answering machine.  I called the number back and got a recorded message that said I was being contacted for marketing research or sales call. That was all that was said then dead air.

Same thing. I don't have caller ID, so I wait until after the machine picks up and the party starts talking. If I recogniae the caller I pick it up, if not I usually pick up and hang up immediately.
I dialed this number, a machine answeredand the message was,"You have been contacted for Marketing Research or a sales call." It repeats, then hangs up. Guess they don't want to be bothered. It's probably some smart [***] company trying to get around the laws by hiring Indians to do their Telemarketing.
I'm contacting the State Attorney General.

Have called 3-4 times daily for months but never leave a message-0-0very irritating.  They call from early morning to late at night.

i was getting calls as early as 8;20 in the morning - seven days a week! (ALL telemarketers are annoying).however, YES - the number"1-866-831-4847" is from DISCOVER CARD...so we called and had our number removed from their list. we were 'told' that a computer makes the multiple calls until a you accecpt the call and press the correct number requested by the computer.

to be REMOVED, just call 1-800-DISCOVER, and tell them to remove you immediately. the DISCOVER REP will then tell you it will take 24 to 48 hours until you stop receiving the calls.

These people call me several times a day.  I also am on the do not call list but they keep calling.  No one ever speaks.  It's damned aggrivating.

We are on a do not call registery...this person has called twice so far.

This number calls me and wants to sell credit card services. I called my credit card company immediately.

They called and no one said anything so I cursed at the phone and hung up. That same number had been calling me multiple times over the passed few days. Then, a few minutes later they called me again and some lady introduced herself and told me it was very rude how I had answered the phone before. I cussed her out again and she hung up. It was kinda funny.

These people get our numbers from a list that Discover Card has sold them.  I as well am on the DNC list but these people don't care.  I called 1-800-discover and after pushing a bunch of numbers i finally got to speak to someone.  he asked me my name and I told him that I was recieving several phone calls a day from companies that they had given my number to and that it was unacceptable.  He then asked for my name again and I told him i wasn't going to give him my name because they already misused the information they had.  Gave my number and was told i was taken off.  we'll see.

I have been receiving the same calls.  Now they call my home 4 times a day, my cell phone,  and believe it or not,  they called my place of work today!  Enough is enough.  If everyone would contact the Public Utiliy Commission maybe together we can put a stop to this harassment.

This is a Discover customer service number and they continue to call at least two or three times a day.  The calls are now coming later... last night I received a call at 8:48.  I am on the national DNC list and I have also had my name added to Discover's DNC list.  All this, even after I called to close my Discover Card account after being fed up with all the phone calls.

I have 8 calls on my caller id just today/  Sick of it!

my boss set his computer to call an 800 # on his computer fax.  set it to call 999 times (the max the system would allow).
it costs the people that have the # each time they answer
after a couple weeks, they called and threatened to sue, he told them that they were sending out unsolicited faxes, which is against the law and he had documentation that he had requested to be taken off... he threatened them with the Attorney General's office... they stopped and never called about the cost again... rofl

Agreed this caller is very annoying and calls all hours of the day, many times a day and as i'm reading this entries on a sunday morning the phone is ringing and guess what number is showing on the caller id.  I'm not a discoverer card holder but am a student so the targeting calling makes sense.  If Discover can't control their outsourced vendors, I certainly don't want them with any of my business or personal information.

My calls from them come thru under the name "Telemarketing" so I don't answer and they leave no message but I am on the donotcall list so they should not be getting through.  Very annoying.
