    because
the Networks debit their 'customers' accounts

    Government get 20% (VAT)
    Networks keep 50% (on average)
Premium Rate Service/Content Providers get and share remainder

Why are you people making such a fuss over this [***]?

You people are being robbed PENNIES compared to the amount of money YOUR government is robbing from you !

You have to pay TAX on what you earn.
You have to pay TAX on the money you already earned and paid tax on but now the bank savings will be TAXED again
Pay TAX on the things you buy (i.e. VAT) but the money in your pocket has already been TAXED.
Pay an additional TAX (i.e. National Insurance)
Pay TAX to watch television (i.e. the license)
Pay TAX to drive your car (Road TAX, further 65% TAX on the cost of fuel)
If you give any money away, the receipient has to pay TAX
on death you pay a huge TAX too

SO what the hell are you idiots complaining about?  You are merely paying pennies to this 88818, imagine what Tony Blair robbed you of??

Sandra.  A spokesperson for 88818 doesn't help this thread.  Taxation is not robbery.  Receiving unsolicited texts that cost £1.50 each is.

I have been ripped off by 88818. Have sent texts saying I have reported them to regulat or. NO JOY.
Sent STOP to them and phoned 08451309911. Have reported them to www.phonepayplus.org.uk (0800500210). I have lost lots of money. My son and I are registered disabled. My phone is my lifeline. These people are totally amoral, unscrupulous and without any conscience.

Are you the last one in the juicywin chain?  I put a comment on here after coming across these peo[ple in Jan or Feb.  I reckon they cost me £50 so I've stopped doing the lottery to pay myself back.  I wonder if they got caught.  Sly deceitful characters they are, hope they go to prison

Erm it would seem I am the last one in the chain! I got three texts from this number today, I didn't know what it was about so checked out the number and ended up here. I am on a contract phone so won't know how much they have stolen until I get my bill. :-(

Further to my previous message after checking out web site and message shown below I text 88818 saying STOP ALL - sent it and immediatley got a message back confirm I had stopped and that I would not be sent more unless I reactvated by text/SMS which I shall not be doing so.

    http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/For-The-Public/FAQ.aspx#How_do_I_stop_an_SMStext_service
How do I stop an SMS/text service?
You can unsubscribe from or stop any service that charges you for receiving texts (not sending them) by texting the word STOP or STOP ALL to the SMS or TEXT Short Code number.
    ·    Make sure you only send the word ‘STOP’ or ‘STOP ALL’.
    ·    It doesn't matter if you use capital letters or lowercase.
    ·    If you are using two or more services from the same SMS/TEXT Short Code number, you'll need to send STOP ALL to each SMS/TEXT short code to unsubscribe from each service.
