SCAM, ROBBERY, CON
-------------------
Look the bottom T&C it says "*It's free to join MyOffers, and it's free to enter MyOffers' own competitions and prize draws. Some third party promotions may feature premium rate entry"
ALL competitions are 3rd party, and not only are they premium rate entry, but premium rate - JUNK UNSOLICITED TEXTs to RECEIVE their junk.
It is NOT free, because they send a text AFTER you entered (so don't enter your mobile/cell number) that's when they scam you, you then confirm you entered this ONE competition. And low & behold, SCAMMED until you realise you're being charged because you didn't read their buried T&C.
Hope individuals of these front companies, rot in a very dark place.

- Angry Honest Jo replies to T Hill aka Disgruntled,Staffordshire. Please do (Watch Dog, Press), I got robbed of £32 and was considered 'lucky'.
Read the other thread, I just linked to, which links to other forums complaining about this subject.
Hopefully enough, will register in meta data for Google to pick up. - Charles SmithKeep geting messages from 88818 which has cost me over £30 in the last two Months.

- Kris - CoventryJust got my o2 bill with the following charges on it.
Origin Number received Cost
88866 5 6.250
88818 12 15.000
Total received 17
Total cost of interactive services received £21.25
I may have entered a competition online, but I have never knowingly signed up to receive texts that I have to pay for. I have deleted the texts when they arrive, but I've still been charged.
I have just spoken to o2 - they are aware of this SCAM - that is the word the girl used - yet they will not refund me - they will not do anything to block incoming chargeable texts - they are every bit as guilty as the company concerned. I have now texted STOP to both 88818 & 88866 so I won't be getting any more, but it is too late. Both companies have 08 phone numbers, so I'm going to have to pay for my calls to them to ask for a refund! - it just adds insult to injury.
This needs to be exposed - I've got a couple of months left with o2 then I am definitely leaving - if they will not protect their customers then they will lose them - the rest of my family are with o2 and they will leave as well so this episode has cost o2 a great deal more than my £21.25.

- amy field replies to Joseph__xI got these messages from an email scam which I fell for because i was just tired! I was sent a message i thought was maybe a christmas/new year e-card message to be picked up and when I opened it it led to an advertisement site to win an ipad and being in a very foolish state i replied and gave my mobile phone number. I am hoping the messages stop since I have sent STOP to the 88818 nunber, they have sent a message confirming stop but can't say I am sure I believe them but hope so! The email came from a friend who had their email account hacked/compromised so I would advise anyone who got this advertisement email to CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS FOR EMAIL AND ANY RELATED ACCOUNTS also maybe do a virus scan if you're worried.
