    Miss Bell
I received a call from Dan Wilson at Ed Overcash's office. They would not tell me what it was about but asked about a Sarah Bell. We have the same last name, but I have NEVER heard of this person. I was told 'my name was in the file' but they would not tell me who put it there or why. They were clearly calling all 'Bell's' to see if they could get a lead on this person. I feel terrible for this poor 89 year old lady they are looking for. They did divulge her birth date when I mentioned my Grandmother was Sarah, but she was born in the 1800's. Sad that they go to this extent to track people down.

This is a legitimate law firm.  The representatives were very professional with me and helped me resolve my account. It's unfortunate that  some of you had a bad experience but I had no issues with them.  They have a network of attorneys that can sue if you have assets so you should do your best to work out an acceptable arrangement.

I have a very common name these [***] have attached my number to the wrong person and I continue to get collection calls from everyone!! They have the wrong person, they have my middle initial wrong, wrong address and wrong last four of my SS#....then they are mad at me for not being the person they are looking for. BTW they purchased their database from Experian the credit reporting company, I did get one polite collector tell me that much.

Like I believe this is a "real customer" of theirs.

    1) Even if you DO owe a debt.. it's illegal to call and harrass someone if they ask you to stop... the law firm or collection agency must then communicate with you via MAIL

    2) Yes, a creditor/collection agency, CAN sue you... they can get a judgement... at worse thet can TRY and I'll say TRY to attatch your wages.. but if you prove your income is just to low to support yourself that won't happen

    3) They can't sieze or force you to sell your primary car or house... they can however get a court ordered lein put on them so when you do sell them, they get their $$$

    4) .. and lastly.. for those who don't have assets.. FILE BANKRUPTCY... that will null and VOID all your debts (even court judgements) unless it's a goverment based debt (like the IRS or student loans).. and even then you can sometimes bankruptcy those.... even if you can't file chap 13.. you can still file chap 7.. and a judge will VERY most likely slash your debt down to 50% or less...

Right now this company is calling my parents.. threating them to take their house away which is laughable.. and take my house away from me... the instant they are any legal proceedings against me... I will just chap 13 their [***]... My only assets are my house... and my car... and since my house is actually over mortgaged (owed more than it's worth)... and I owe a certain %age on my car for what it's worth.. they are EXEPT from being touched in chap 7 or 13....

So.. I'll be actually calling them back tomorrow inviting them to go to court and get a judgement on me as I've already hired a bankruptcy attorney.. so they are wasting their time with me

These people are a 3rd party debt collection agency. Yes you may not have paid your debts in the past. There is statute of limitation laws for collection of bad debt. Generally it's 7yrs from the last payment you made. Do not make any payments as it restarts the statute of limitations all over again giving them another 7yrs to collect. Of course do verify debt owed with your credit report as well. Do not give any personal info other than a mailing address where they can send info in writing.

so they called me yesterday and I told them my husband lost his job but I was willing to have automatic payments to pay my debt off -he said I had until Monday to come up with 3,000-he asked if we owned a home, loan from parents, etc... this is crazy-I am more than willing to pay this off-I want to but he was awful on the phone-has anyone had success with this company? any advice? he told me he would put the Texas laws on me -what does that mean???

They have called and harassed us for the last time. My husband was injured in an accident a couple years ago. He was out of work 4 months. When he went back to work, his checks were minimal as past deductions for health insurance, home and car insurance, 401K, etc, were being taken out not only for the regular time back at work, but for the PAST time off work. His checks were practically non existent for 8 months. We have not been able to catch up. As of last week we filed bankruptcy. The main reason? Phone calls to family members. AND the fact that no matter what we paid, it was never enough. I am sorry, but I have to question the ethics of any judge that would lower himself to this kind of ruthless, nasty business.

    Beware of these numbers!   888-511-1130; 864-298-1130; 888-511-1130 x 150 as
Sean Maxwell; 864-298-1145- 85-64-298-1140 so far.  I owe no debt for these
people to collect but they insist on calling me stating they are looking for
someone else.  I have played their #3 game - person does not live here.  They
keep calling insistently on new numbers.  I am turning these people in for
harrassment and contacting the ftc as well as the attorney general in my
state which borders the Pacific Ocean and the N Carolina and S Carolina State
Bar Association.  I am also turning them into the attorney general in the
states in which they practice.  When I ask someone to leave me alone I expect
them to do it.  I am not the person they are looking for and I don't have
to accept any calls from them...

    Sincerely,
I'm so glad this came up on Google! I just got my first voicemail from them and already warned my family that they may get a rude call. They don't know who they're messing with. I work for hundreds of Attorney's from the West Coast to the East Coast. They can go ahead and try to f with me. This will be fun. Bring it Ed.
To the "B" who left me a message : You're creepy. I think I'll be you for halloween next year.

This is the law firm of Ed Overcash. They are a debt collection agency. They make threats, yell, and scream. I will admit that I have a debt that they purchased from Wells Fargo. However, they want all of the money NOW and if not, the threats start.

They call family and friends. One time they left a message stating to be a representative of the Attorney General. This has now been reported to the Texas OAG as a case of mis-representation by a debt collector. Seriously don't think the OAG would be happy that a debt collector is posing as them.

They will bully you until either you give them what they want or they will simply hang-up on you. I have been hung-up on every time I have talked with them.

I've gotten two voicemail messages. my father has also recieved some at his house. The man on the phone, Jack says he's from Ed Overcash and that he 'must speak with my TODAY'. The first message I got wasnt too bad. but the second one he was getting a little pissy in his tone.

I have no intention of calling this company back. I've already spoken to a lawyer.

Do they think if they leave threatening voicemails that I'll WANT to call them? I laugh in their faces.

got a call from Amanda at Ed Overcash's office today, along with yet another person!  Two people in the same afternoon!  I then got a call from my father, who said they called HIM about this debt (he has NOTHING to do with this credit card debt, but they insisted he was a "co-signer" and had to pay up if I didn't!  I couldn't believe it!  I am so glad I googled this Yahoo's name...seems a lot of others have had the same problem.

My mother is developmentally disabled and while she is 55years old, she is mentally about 13.  This said, she opened a number of credit cards and not that she's been out of work for over a year I have been trying to settle her debt.

Today my mother calls me in a panic.  Someone left a note on her front door to call Patty at 1-888-511-1130.  Curious, she called then called me in a panic.  I immediately rushed to her house to call and talk to this "attorney" myself.

"Patty" was very nice but there was just something fishy about the whole thing.  Going on and on about if my mother didn't pay the balance in full ($1,000) the account was going to be forwarded to a local attorney and she will be sued.
    For $1,000...
    Really?
    No, really?
    $1,000??

That is laughable!  The account had been sold to another agency, I am going to call GEMB (the original creditor) today and find out who they sold it to.  I'll pay whomever GEMB tells me to.

September 09 I received a phone call from Ed Overcash (attorney) LOL, claiming I had an account with Gap credit cards that was about to go on my credit report as a charge off (I have never had a Gap credit card in my life) but I panicked and paid them there settlement offer and figured that would give me time to resolve the issue with GAP and the fraud affiliates.  Well about 4 days ago I received another phone call from GAP (GE Money Bank) to resolve this credit card bill.  I explained to them that I had paid this "law office" and they replied that they have no idea who this company is and furthermore they have no history of any payment. So I just cld Ed Overcash who asked me for my SS# to look up my account and when I said use my last mane or the ph # there co. contacted me with there was no record he stated he needed my SS# or have a nice day I said use my name and he then hung up on me.
