I received 2 phone calls and no one leaves a voicemail.

It is verizon wireless... usually is when you're behind in your bills!! I know that number by heart!! LOL!!!

I'll admit it.  I occasionally am late on making my Verizon cell phone payment.  The reason I usually do not recognize this number is because they don't have to call me very often.  This is Verizon Financial Services, and they are calling you as a courtesy to remind you that your bill is due (which can apply to other Verizon services like internet, etc.) and allow you to take care of it before terminating your service.

The reason you do not receive voicemails is because a Robo-call is not programmed to wait and leave them.  The reason you will get a call when your bill has been recently paid is because that information has not yet reached Financial Services.  When you speak to a representative, they will ask you for the last four digits of your SS number.  They know what they are; your knowing the last four tells them that you are the person they are looking for and are authorized to receive personal information from them.  It's simply a means of verifying your identity.

If you do not reply to their calls, several things can happen.  First, you will receive a text message asking you to contact them.  You may get several attempts to contact you by phone (remember, your phone is about to be cut off, and they'd rather not do that).  Eventually, your phone will be cut off, except the numbers you can use to call them.

If you are contacted by Verizon and you are not a Verizon customer, more than likely someone used you as a reference to get their service.  If they are not replying to contact attempts by Verizon, the phone company will contact you (as you are a reference), and try to find out where the holder of the Verizon account might be.  As a reference you would be most likely to know that information.  Again, they do not want to cut off their customer so they are trying to find him/her.

I have had an account with Verizon for 15 years.  Maybe I'm just lucky, but I have never had any problems with the company.  By the way, no scammer would ask you for just the last four digits of your SS#.  Verizon already knows your full SS#, and are verifying your identity.  Having the last four digits is something only you would know (hopefully), and, as personal information, is about as valuable as having the last four digits of your phone number, without the first seven.

So put down your tin hats, say goodbye to the little green men in the basement and call Verizon to pay your bill or resolve the problem before you are disconnected.

Go ahead!  Waste your time.  Or just admit that you haven't paid your Verizon cell phone bill and take care of it.  They've called you four times because they don't want to lose you as an account or have to cut you off.  You say you never answer, and their automatic calling will not leave a voicemail.

Fifty percent of the respondents here are telling you that it is Verizon Financial Services, and it is.  But if you feel uncomfortable calling them just go into a Verizon center, your local Wal-Mart, or many of the other places where you can pay your utility bills and take care of it.

Keep getting a call from this number...caller ID says verizon...never had an account with verizon or recognize this number.

this number has called me 7 times today starting a 5:30am! there isnt anybody there the call just hangs up after about a minute?? what gives??

This is Verizon Wireless Financial Services.  It means its time to pay your bill! I got the call today and wasn't sure who it was, so I looked it up on here and I see everyone saying possible scam.  Well I call Verizon and they told me it is there number for the collections department.  It is a courtesy call before they shut you off for non-payment.

Earlier today I got a hangup call where callerid showed 949-286-3311. This phone number does actually go thru to Verizon Financial Services. I just called it. They said that there were no calls to me today. And, that actual calls from Verizon show as unidentified. What I believe is happening - some scammer is somehow able to show this number in the callerid. So, BEWARE. These calls are likely not actually from Verizon

I suspect it's Verizon calling since they occupy a building in Irvine at that location, but It would be nice if they just sent out a text.

I have received calls from this number the past 2 days with no message left.  I, too think it a scammer or fraud call.

The calls [MOST of you, if not ALL] you are getting from this number, are probably NOT really from Verizon,  just someone CLAIMING to be from Verizon in order to get as much identity information from you as possible.  I have had a Verizon cellphone for over 5 years.  On the rare occasions when I have been a couple days late with my payment [and forgot to call and let them know] I got a text message, letting me know that my payment was due and giving me a toll-free # to call if I had any problems or needed assistance.  I have NEVER received a voicemail.  This was when I had a contract phone.  Now, I have a Verizon prepaid, and about 24 - 48 hours before I'm due to run out of service, I get a text message telling me what my balance is, how many min I have left, how much is left on my texting bundle and how to purchase my minutes via my phone. The Verizon Offices in the area where I live, do NOT send voicemail messages, only text. Any other anonymous calls I have ever received, are either telemarketing calls, or frautulent attempts at getting information.

I have been receiving many call a day from this number. No voice mail message left. I will continue to ignore it. Maybe one day they will learn to stop calling.

Just another wonderful 'service' by Verizon. Yes IT IS Verizon folks. I've had their ' auto dialer' call me 12 times on a Saturday, some calls within 5-10 minutes. Never a message. I was given 'permission' by two Tier 2 tech's that I could cancel my contract due to service issues in my area without penalty.- They charged me a disconnect fee anyway and 'conveniently' have no record of them telling me that. They can kiss my a$$. These calls are harassment and the people who can't pay their bills aren't going to magically have money because you harass them several times a  day.

Recieved a call from this number (949-286-3311) today; no-one answered.  I don't want to call it back.  In some situations, thats the way that what ever their trying to do becomes activated.

Do not talk to these people. They are not actually Verizon but a company contracted by Verizon to handle accounts with past due amounts. Hit *611 on your phone and ask to be transfered to Financial Services. This way you talk to Verizon Wireless directly.

I've been receiving calls from number 949-286-3311, everyday i get at least 5 phone calls. i dont know this number so i dont pick up, today i accidently answer and some lady ask for my self, when ask where she was calling from she said im from verizon wirless , i ask what she needed, she gave  me a long story tryong to get info from me, but got nowhere and she hang up on me.
