"THE ANSWER IS !!!!  This is a legitimate call from Verizon Financial Services.  I received a similar call and spent considerable time with a Verizon Cust Service Rep who did a BRILLIANT JOB of sorting it out.  The phone calls are computer generated -- therefore multiple calls and often hangups since they take the next call in the queue.  That answers the hangups --- rightly or wrongly.  The caller ID on the phone is legit and is what they use for outgoing calls.  The reason they call is one of the following.   You owe them.   They have your phone number attached to someone who owes them.   If you don't owe them, tell them to search your phone number and take your number off the account of the person who owes them.  ----  They had my home phone number on someone elses account.  They removed it and the calls stopped.  Hope this answers everyones questions."

over and over again on different websites, all word for word identical...but the mans name it was posted by is different.

This is the number for Verizon Wireless financial services. It is an automated call.

Received a few calls and they claimed to be Verizon. I figure you should call Verizon not the other way around. So, even if I answer and it is them and they do speak I let them know I will contact customer service myself at my convenience as I have ran a trace on the number they are calling from and I have found it has been reported to the government. I say for my protection I will not accept incoming calls from this number and I hang up. My husband feels the need to speak to them, but I don't. I call Verizon and let them know I refused to speak to someone calling from that number for fraud protection on my personal information.

i got the call as well. they left a message but it was mumbling. didnt call back

Just got a call from 949 286 3311 and it was from verizon...I didn't answer it and they did leave a voicemail...

I do not even HAVE Verizon wireless and yet this number called. It is a scam. A lady at Tmobile said that they are running low on numbers and now have to resort to recycling them. Simple solution- DO NOT ANSWER calls from people you do not know.

ANY company or person that calls on the phone asking for your password and account # is a SCAM. VERIZON or whomever does not NEED your number or passwords THEY ALREADY HAVE IT!

message saying trying to connect sent to my voice mail on my cell phone on 4th of July.  Did not return call

This number called my girlfriend and it was in regard to he account payment neing due today. She told them she paid it this morning and they said thanks. No nuisense <sp?), no harassing, just business. Answer it. You're bill is probably late. Worse they can do is start to harass you, and you hang up. problem solved. lol.

949-286-3311 is Verizon Wireless Financial Services.  I returned their call via land line.

This number called me and I did not ansere becuase I did not recognize the number. They did not leave a voicemail either. I then look up the phone number and find all these reports from other people. So, if reporting the numbers is supposed to help then why are there complains about this number way back from 2007 and it is still happening???? Shouldnt someone know something by now???

No one on the other end when I call it says Verizon wireless finanacial services but its just a scam to get your billing passcode so dont do it.

Have gotten calls from this number before.  I have written numerous posts about this number.  I just get really tired of reading the posts from 'innocent' people saying that its really Verizon.  $20 says that's just the slackies for the scammers who are calling people.  If it really is Verizon calling me, why not leave a message?  I have never had a 'real' business call me and never leave a message.  Don't fall for what these posts are claiming to be the 'real Verizon reps', its just your typical losers trying to get something for nothing.  It's really disappointing that a billion dollar company like Verizon wouldn't back its customers and have these people prosecuted to the full extent of the law.  Maybe some prison time will make them pull their lazy butts off the couch and make an honest living...but I guess once a low-life, always a low-life.

It's verizon calling you.  They want you to pay your bill Dumb [***]! I've been called by it before.  Paid my bill and the calls stopped.  Magic!... no scam, no phishing, just an honest company trying to get back the money that you owe them!  Maybe if you answer the phone and stop being such big babies you would have figured it out by now~!

i got a call from this number and i didnt answer since i didnt recognize the #. well who or whatever it was left a message.
when i checked my vm the only thing that was caught was what sounded
like a computer voice saying 'trying to connect' but that was all.

This number has also been calling my mom and says they are with Verizon and asks for me but pronounces my name wrong. When my mom asked what my last name was they hung up. So I will be calling Verizon today and making sure they have this number....SCAMMMMM written all over it!

I think it's a way for verizon to scam us on airtime minutes. 1 min adds up over millions of users.
