I found this number on my husbands phone bill.It was either once ot three times in the month of july..I guess I will have to ask my husband but I called it and  I got the state police twice...

I have had several calls from 999-999-9999 at various times and found it strange because I never heard of such a number. Last night, 8/4/2011, at 8.50pm, I again received an out of area call from
999-999-9999 but no message was left. The same with the other previous calls, no message.
Is there anyway we can find the CULPRIT who is doing this and take necessary action?

I got a text from 999-999-999 saying:

I got a call from 774-8283 with no area code at 1:50am. The 1st time I answered and didn't say anything because I didn't know the # then it called back 5 mins later and I answered and said hello and it was a guys voice "who is this"?  I didn't say anything I hung up then it called me 2 more times I never answered the phone again. I looked at my cell bill at that day and time and the number said 9999999999. I also tried to call the 774 # back and it's not a number.

Calls from 999-999-9999 :  this is not the callers real number.  This number is an automatic number identification used to hide the callers number.  The US post office uses this type of automatic number identification;  others, such as collections agencies hospitals, etc also use automatic number identifications such as 114, or 777.  
Also, beware because if you call back to an automatic number identification you may be charged.

999-999-9999    is an automatic number identification is not the caller's real number.

I've gotten 6 text messages this week from that number and its a bunch of symbols, I rather not receive any of these, I mean phone companies should be able to handle this problem right? For the customer satisfaction. No phone calls (so far) just text messages. I don't stress over them, I brush it off but would also want these "messages" to stop getting through to my phone.

Doesn't look like english at all.
I'm hoping phone companies can fix this problem.

I too got a Blackberry and have had the same problem! I get 2 texts a day from 999-999-9999. Always at 10:13 am and 10:14 pm and it's all symbols and letters! It's sooo f***ing annoying! Somebody seriously needs to get a life.

got a few texts with random symbols from this number

I got a text from 999-999-9999 with just word "hey?"

If they keep calling, answer it and say " if you dont stop calling this number im calling the cops. " itll scare em off . hope it helps!

I too get the 999-999-9999 text msg.  It just started getting one a day so far.  and it's all letters and symbols. I don't open it - I just delete it. I'm not calling back or texting back and giving them any confirmation they got someone.   I imagine they will get tired eventually and bugger off.

called me at 6:30 pm. I was busy & didn't look at the caller ID until after I answered the phone..but when I said hello, no one said anything, I'm on the do not call list, and this is the second time in 2 weeks I've gotten calls from numbers I don't know...what's the deal????

I am receiving text messages from this number in the middle of the night.  Replied "stop" several times, but it has not helped.

I got this text message and it told me ... Happy Birthday on September 30th ... It's NOT my birthday ... so what's up with that!
