- geoff replies to alanI've just recieved a call from this number (on ansaphone no one there). I've had a C/H breakdown policy with Homeserve for 5 years & had really good response & service.I've had more than my moneysworth back! Yes they do hike up the policy premium every year, sometimes by 50%!!!! I just call them up, tell them I'm cancelling my policy and taking out a new one. Last year I got my policy £15 cheaper than the previous year.
How to protest at this cold calling. A good idea is to inundate their website with E-Mails. There is a posting here somewhere that lists all the addresses. - Shelley| 1 replyJust rung the head office number supplied by RJ (01922 426262) - said I needed to discuss my policy and was put through to the office where I spoke to Lisa - I told her I was being contacted 4 times a day, every day by this number and the final straw was last night on my answer machine I was left a delightful message, just one word - 'dogsh*t' - I have made a formal complaint and she said she would remove my number from the automatic telesales list so it shouldnt happen again. I have a complete utilities policy with them but as stated in other posts, i am not sure its worth the paper its written on as probably covered by my home insurance. I know with regard to water pipes its my responsilbility to cover the pipe the moment it runs under my property so I may still have to keep that part of the cover however the rest I should let go because whilst I was away, I recently had a flood at home that was covered under home insurance and when I tried to claim off homeserve for the cost of the emergency plumber that my parents called in (as they didnt know about my policy) it wasnt covered as it was not one of their plumbers so no use whatsoever.

- StevenI've been getting constant calls from 01922 420 057 for the last few weeks. Most of them end up as missed calls, but I've picked up two of them, been told they are Homeserve/Thames Water, told them I'm not interested and I don't want any more calls from them so please would they take me off their list ... and you've guessed it, they still keep calling!
What's the point of calling someone who's told you quite clearly that they don't want to hear from you?- Caller: Homeserve/Thames Water

- BernieI get these calls at certain times of the year.I have been getting them for a week now.I had around 6 yesterday & have already had 4 this morning.I never answer and they don't leave a message.I didn't know who it was until I decided to google the number.Just as I suspected it was a sales call!I am fed up with it but I suppose the exercise of running from the garden to the phone is a plus!(NOT).

- Has A Life replies to Lee JonesGet a grip mate, it takes more time to complain than just to deal with the call.
- JessI've taken to not answering my house phone anymore. I'm sick and tired of having to explain to them that I'm busy and I have no idea what we're covered for as it's my husband's house, they just don't take no for an answer.
My poor grandparents have to leave an answerphone message so I know it's them and I can ring them back.
They've rang me 12 times today. I have a young son who keeps getting woke up by the phone ringing. I've sent them an email telling them if they don't take my number off I will be contacting TPS.- Caller: Homeserve
- KEVINI HAD 16 CALLS IN 4 DAYS AT VARIOUS TIMES,MOSTLY EARLY EVENING. THE CALLS STARTED AGAIN AFTER A BREAK OF ONE DAY.
I E-MAILED customerrelations@homeserve.com. STATING THAT I WAS SICK AND TIRED OF RECEIVING THEIR CALLS AND WANTED MY NUMBER REMOVED FROM THEIR LIST. I ALSO INFORMED THEM THAT I WOULD BE WRITING TO OFCOM AND THE BT NUISANCE CALL BUREAU. I HAVE RECEIVED NO CALLS SINCE I SENT THE E-MAIL AND HOPE THIS IS THE END OF THE MATTER.- Caller: HOMESERVE
- KarenHome Serve are at it again - pressure selling a policy for 2 months free protection for your water supply pipe emergencies.
After the 2 months are up you have to return the original documentation cancelling it or they will start to charge you.
Watch out although I declined the offer they have still sent me a policy which I now have to cancel!!!!- Caller: Home Serve
- Karenhaving contacted Ofcom they don't deal with this sort of compliant - they have suggested:
if not already registered on the Telephone preference list to register on line - if you are registered you need to call 0207 2913323
They also suggested complaining to the FSA - Financial Services as this is a insurance type policy which they are trying to sell.
Hope that this helps some of you - I know that you can register other people on the telephone preference list - so you can do your parents if they aren't able to do themselves- Caller: Home Serve
- kd11 replies to Rob FoyleI agree. I thought it sounded a fair service too, but through investigation realised that all pipes on my land is insured by home insurance and those on the street are down to thames water anyway...so not a problem. check your home insurance.
