I have had these calls all this week. I do have Homeserve plimbing and electricity but they will go if this does not stop. I am relieved to know that others are getting them. I was beginning to feel someone was watching me.

It’s Homeserve. I agreed to their service a few years for a small fee and they’ve been cranking up the policy in increments ever since. They insure pipes and water supply etc and now I’m paying for plumbing but should anytime you ever call them, it’s always outside their policy. Does anyone know if they’re actually of any use whatsoever?. I mean do I need them. If Thames Water’s pipes blow up why should I be paying for it?

This is a call from Homeserve as others have stated.
If you have caller ID and a digital phone:

1: Save the number into your phones directory

2: Give the number a name (Spam 100) for example.

When this number calls in future, you will instantly know where it has come from.
This can be done to all strange numbers if your phone has a good sized directory.

Rob Foyle -apparently the water pipes under your property belong to you, but I personally wouldnt pay the Homeserve fee so we knocked it on the head.

This number has just called so I responded to silence with silence and when I heard a muffled hello I hung up. If I egt any more I will also complain (being on TPS too) so thanks for the info on contacts.

These phone calls are from Homeserve plc in Walsall. They wake me up during the day and I work nights! No one there. Glad I found this site. I typed in the code 01922 and homeserrve and came up with homeserve plc in walsall with this number 01922 426262. This is their main number. 'Lorna' transferred me to the offending number 420057 so it is one of their numbers. As guessed. NO ONE ANSWERED!

Received a call from this number, but I didn't answer it at that moment. I googled the number also because its an unusual number. Im glad to read about these complaints. Some days ago somebody asked about the mains outside, so I suppose it was them, the homeserve people. I have had contracted insurance with them, so I believe they are calling the people that are on their lists to offer more insurance policies.

Got a phone call from these people apparently at about 4pm.  I wasn't in but the call went to the answering machine.  When I listened to the message it was just a woman's voice asking to speak to me by name.  Apparently she chose to ignore the answering machine message that had said I wasn't there!  When she didn't get an answer (because I wasn't there!) she hung up.  I did 1471 and came up with the number 01922 420057 which I googled to find this page.  Nice to read other comments on how to deal with these extremely annoying people.  I too had Homeserve policies but cancelled them realising that most of what they covered would probably be covered by my home insurance policy and, if it wasn't, my policy does cover me for legal advice which i would certainly use.  Mind you, if they're stupid enough to keep ringing at 4pm I'm never going to be in.

This number kept calling - with no message left - a complete nuisance.

I have an account with Homeserve and regularly get junk mails telling me what I'm NOT covered for one week, and then the following week am blitzed by phonecalls asking me (when I do answer) if I would like to upgrade my policy.
They seem to have that automatic dialing gubbins that rings but only connects if there is an answer. It must be a very impatient and desperate gubbins at that - 4 calls in an hour were registered one day...

We keep getting these calls too. We have caller ID so we just ignore them and they have never left a message on the answerphone.  Has anyone seen an article on BBC Watchdog about them??? if not perhaps its time!!!!
