    Annoyed
This caller has annoyed me by calling many times - who is it?

I agree it's from Homeserve. When I spotted their number on the caller display, I picked up and snapped "Hello, General Steinhorst's office, please!" as if I had called them. Amazingly they answered, completely unperturbed by this outrageous non-sequitur, and started some sort of sales pitch. I told them their number was becoming notorious on the web as a nuisance caller, and they seemed a bit taken aback... I also asked them not to call again.

Four calls from 'em this week.  Their latest trick is for the rep to claim to be calling regarding a survey on behalf of Anglian Water, although the caller display makes nonsense of that, and they seem taken aback when confronted with the truth.

If anybody is still reading these comments (they are apparently dated 2008). Today is Friday 11-Dec-09 and I have had calls from this number 01922 420057 all week. I do not believe in tel sales at all. Also I have already got all these "covers" at half their prices on my Rias home insurance policy anyway. Merry Xmas all.

Have been receiving calls from this number at least 4 times a week for months.  Don't have a policy with them and don't want one.  Thanks to the chap who put the customer service number up, I called today.  They wanted my postcode which I challenged, as it's phone calls which are the issue, not the address. However, he pointed out that it's a marketing list & all done on postcode. He then demanded my full address - I gave house no. only & told him to use Royal mail postcode search for the rest.  He then miraculously came up with all the details but wanted my name for his security!  Told him I didn't give a fig about his security but I do care about mine & he couldn't have it.  That their operation is now harassment in my opinion and just one more call will see me leaving British Gas as a customer after 30 years - and taking legal action against them.  Hopefully, peace from this number at least will be restored.

i too have a homeserve policy. i have had a lot of calls over thr past 2 years wanting me to upgrade it to cover more and more. Then in the last few weeks all these missed calls. smetimes 4 or 5 a day. My husband has just died and i really dont need this hassle. I will cancel my policy with them as i think i shows poor customer service. Thought.... if its in my late husbands name are they going to need a death certificate

    Not a homeserve customer
Homeserve have been phoning me constantly for months and more recently have been trying up to 3 times a day, never leaving a message except for once where they left a joke message... I wasn't impressed.

I've called their customer services today on 0800 783 0951 and they didn't have my name on their system but they knew my address and phone no.  They should have removed me from their system now.  Watch this space.

Messages to Severn Trent, Homeserve BT and others have failed to get these people off our back

Purely for nuisance calls I have just bought a panasonic phone system which can block a chosen phone number.
I then  got Caller Id from BT (free if you make calls with them), and put this number into the Panasonic phone as a blocked number.
Fingers crossed 3 years of nuisance calls are now over.
The panasonic also can switch the phone  to delayed answer for a certain number of rings for a chosen time period each day (they ring at the times of day they think you are most likely there), so any other telesales automated diallers will give up on you before getting through.
    Hope this helps.

Buy a "truecall" machine as featured on Dragons Den, on special offer (they call undersale) with John Lewis at present. Best thing I ever bought, no more calls I don't want.
