I've had around 10 calls from this number for the past 3 weeks (also several calls last year)

Don't even talk to them - If you let them, I believe they will try to get you to allow them remote access to your computer.
They'll play around with your machine, then try to get money from you to fix it.

Yesterday I tried stringing them along for 30 minutes, thinking they'd hang up..
I told them I couldn't see the 'Start' button on the bottom left etc.. told them I was running Mac Os and Linux and even Sky Hd with a capital K !

They just persisted telling me to turn on my computer -
I eventually told them I didn't have internet access - then a 'supervisor', - Ron Matthews - came on and started getting aggressive.
I hung up, but I see they called again today!

I know this bunch. There was an Asian woman with a patronising voice the first time. The second time I said I had Bill Gates in the next room and that I was going to get him. They actually held on while I made footstep sounds. Morons yes, but they are also unpleasant people.

I just had a call and this is what I put on facebook why not do the same please just copy and paste.

WARNING anyone receiving a call from 00253820308 this is a SCAM they are usually Indian people speaking with bad English. They pretend to be Microsoft (Microsoft do not ring people)and tell you that you have a virus and ask you to do a few things on your computer for them .If you do what they ask you to do you are giving them access to your computer and that is dangerous .
Now when they ring me I play them along a little bit them have a whistle in my hand and BLOW the [***] out of there eardrums I have told the rest of the family to do the same .
Please REPOST and like this and also have some sort of whistle beside your phone. The more people see this the less people will get scammed .

00253820308 second call this year I recall they phoned Christmas time and I answered thinking it was family “Hi its Patrick” they phoned this morning and called me Mr Patrick so they pick up on what you say and record it for future criminal use. They got my mother in law last year took her credit card details and remote accessed the computer used info from her computer in the end we had to cancel all bank cards and buy a new computer. I put on an old well even older voice this morning said I was in a care home and the only computer was in the nurses office the Indian lad told me to go in and access it as she was busy what scumbags. We reported it last year to the Garda that’s Irish police gave us a load of bull about its in the internet lines so we cannot do anything and cannot trace them sure they even phone us. I suppose they haven’t worked out how to get the patrol car down the little phone/cable holes to chase them. Watch out don’t deal with them .

These are not nice people at all, they have been ringing me for 2 years, when i told one of them to stop he just kept ringing me over and over.  The best thing is to say nothing and just hang up.

Just had the guy from Windows - shame they don't know the company is Microsoft.

Told I run Linux, he hadn't clue what I was talking about and kept saying it was on my Windows!!

We are in Ireland - beware!

    Microsoft would never call you.

I seem to be getting a phonecall from this number every day now. Apart from that I'm getting the your-PC- is-infected phonescam as well from strange numbers like this one or 0-000 or unknown number.

Yeah I got this number a few times in Ireland, the caller claimed to be Indonesian, a father of 2 with a sister who i'm going to marry, well I was until he figured out I was stringing him along. 56 minutes of his time wasted... waiting on the next one to see if I can make it an hour.

Couple of tips if you want to waste their time,

Tell them you need to switch your computer on, as it is a bit old (not too old, one theory of these calls is they want to slave your computer, if the OS is too old they might not want it, another is ripping personal info as in essence their instructions hand over all control of your computer to them)

While your "computer" is warming up, get some personal info from him in a normal chat, it will all be lies but that knocks him off his train of thought and his "script"

Get a plastic bag or a crisp packet and when he's giving you instructions start crunching it at the phone saying "Hello hello hello" a few burps can be added to this to really confuse him.

Let some instructions through with restraint on the extra noise, but continuously tell him you can't find what or where it is, give that a few shots and pretend to move onto the next step

rinse and repeat with the bag and an inability to follow his instructions.

As soon as either you or he has had enough just tell him to F off with his scamming.

Job done and his time wasted means an actual victim may not fall into their trap.

    Have fun.

Missed call from these clowns today on my landline - deliberately didn't answer. Suspect there is a link here with mobile phone / broadband operator - '3'. Funny how when I pay my broadband bill to them by phone these type of calls are received. The '3' 'customer service (!!!) ' team is based in India and as my mobile is with a different company I never disclosed that number to them. I suspect the '3' muppets are selling details on to boost their wages.

If like me you have given only one contact number be careful and try keep them with only 1 contact number or they will plague you - also if you have a smartphone not with '3' I wouldn't divulge info to them or they will try phish that way.

Beware, for some reason Ireland has given vast amounts of money to '3' to be the national broadband supplier - service is shite, particularly if like me you live in a rural area and the muppets in the '3' customer service team make the banks seem like angels! If you are a few hours late ( not days ) with a bill you get a call and a message sent to you reminding you they haven't received payment. When you do make payment you usually get a lecture if it's late - shower of cupid stunts.
