- robin lipsham| 1 replyI had a call today, 9th September 2010, from the above number, 01142180488, when I answered the phone ( I am a man) there was a short pause and the phone went dead, we had a similar call to our answering machine yesterday, asking press 1 if Pamela Lipsham was answering ( my wife) press 2 etc press 3 etc. which we found disturbing. and would like to know who was phoning us, I was not prepaired to bear the cost of a ring back call.
regards Rob Lipsham.

- BABS| 4 repliesKEEPING CALLING DO NOT ANSWER AS I DO NOT KNOW WHO ARE . DOES ANYBODY?
- Marky replies to BABS| 3 repliesOkay people here are worried whether this is some kind of Scam or something. It`s not.
National Money Savers is a Market Research Company conducting surveys. They are in partnership with Companies like EON, BnQ etc.
The easiest way to be rid of any further calls from them is, if you answer the phone to them, simply ask them to take your number from their database or say you are not interested. They will honour that.
Their surveys usually take around 5 minutes to complete and at the end of it, they will offer discount vouchers for Marks and Spencers, Tesco or BnQ.
So, as said. They are not Scammers and are regulated by Ofcom, which is why they will state before going ahead with the survey, that their is a possibility you could receive junk mail through the post.
Hope this helps to clear up any panic or suspicions. The biggest cause of fear is misinformation. - Cajagoothis call was at 11.40 am thursday 14th October, nobody on the line and I did get a call yesterday and told them I was too busy and rang off. This caller has my ex directory number, I have only given it to sites like big businesses for delivery services, high street department stores etc and have never given it to anyone else so they've got this from another source, I'm really getting annoyed as I'm not with BT so I'm wondering if my internet/telephone supplier is sharing info from the database!!!!!!!

- Marky replies to CajagooCajagoo - Your number is passed on by high street stores. Often there is a sheet at the desk with "Do not contact me with any further offer" blurb. If you do not tick the box then your details are passed on to Market Research companies. Same can happen with Internet Stores. It`s really the stores to blame for passing on these details.

- willAm getting sick of the continued calls from this number (01142180488)
Each time i reach phone it either rings off or there is nobody ion the line- Caller: not listed
- Andy replies to Marky| 1 replyOK, Marky, if all this is so 'above board' WHY the deception in them claiming to be from different companies than they are and why (as in my case) do i have 9 calls (1 every hour in just a SINGLE day) from them?.
I let the machine pickup ALL their calls, and if that alone doesn't indicate to them that i'm not interested AND the fact that my number is XD (which i rarely give out anyway), i don't see why any 'ofcom regulation' is going to unduly worry them.
As you say, The biggest cause of fear MAY be misinformation, but ignorance and gullibility are the tools of the con artist and we are all vulnerable to them if complacency sets in.
I'd rather be cautious than conned! - MalcolmRepeated no message calls. They do not take up the invite to leave a message. Calling them back also gets only silence. Surely there is a way to block these?
I also get regular silent calls from "INTERNATIONAL - Out of Area" - no telephone number is provided. Can anyone help with blocking these? - janthanks guys looking at this same here glad i was out when they called will try to block these as sick of them but only just found out about doing this !
- janblock this but how??? who/what do i ring to put in place as sick of these sometimes daily and try to avoid them thanks
