They ledt a message asking me to call them urgently.   I have not done so & will not.   Sounds like a con.

missed call this morning 11.41am have had several in past months .ignored them.

Had this company ring my parents and a neighbour from a previous address asking for my husband who has never lived at either of the addresses they were enquiring about. The lady asked if she could speak with him or confirm he lived at the address as she had an urgent delivery for him, when asked further she said she could not confirm what the delivery was or any other information.

This is illegal, surely?

Was called today and asked to confirm an erroneous previous address. I don't owe any money so sounds like a con to me.

I received call few days ago from them calling themselves "telogram" asked if I knew someone who lived few doors away and whether we could pass on a number for them to call. I asked well cant you contact them yourselves and they have said they tried but couldnt get through, so I said send them a letter, again they said they have but had not received reply (maybe letter got lost in the post they said..yeah yeah) I said well Im not getting involved and promptly put the phone down.
This kind of thing happens about once a month, there is another company doing the same in Manchester. It is something do with debt collecting as I have checked other sites about this. What confuses me if a debt collecting agency why dont they just turn up on the persons door step or send them a letter, odd they ask their neighbours to get involved and why cant something be passed in law about this its surely harrassment and intrusion of privacy ??. Did phone the police about it and they said best thing to do is tell them we cant help them and put phone down and if they persist tell ofcom about it.
Its a silly annoying thing they do to get money back go through a neighbour.

Was rung this morning about my neighbours. They have moved abroad and the lady was first asking did I know where they live, then later in the conversation she told me that she had an address for them in M. It's very strange. She said her name was Paula and if I could confirm Mr and Mrs T's address abroad, would I please phone her back. She gave me a reference number. I phoned the number and a man answered saying it was the Telograms Office and what reference number did I have.
They had my address, and they knew the names of the people living at number 3 as well.

After Googling Capquest I see they have offices in ENgland Scotland and South Africa. The lady who called me had a Scottish accent and I see from the posts above that someone said they were called by people with South African accents. So it sounds as though Telogram and Capquest are one and the same.
As Capquest are a debt recovery agency, they are obviously using Telograms Office as a means of getting people to reveal information bout themselves or their neighbours. Maybe we should contact the Police as this is probably illegal?

Rang up parent's telephone number today, said they were 'a telegram agency' then a 'parcel agency'.

I have received two answer machine messages this week, one from Telegram Office quoting telephone number 01252576376 and the second from CapQuest quoting telephone number 08700843510. Both quoting the same automated reference number. Glad I found this thread and didn't call them back!

Asking for someone who lived here over 8 years ago. Keep calling and won't accept they don't live here. Becoming very annoying and now consider it harrasment. They have now started to ring my mobile and goodness knows how they have got that because only a handful of people have my private mobile number and they certainly aren't one of them. These company should be sued especially saying they have a telegram for that person they could be ringing someone who has a son/husband in the forces, and making them wonder if something is wrong. This kind of behavior is dispickable and should be stopped.

Ringing neighbours and asking about someone who lived at my address yonks ago. A telegram company with the number 01252 576376 from what I have been told this is a debt collecting company and when you ring the number to check if it's for real they have an answer machine that says it's the telegraph company and leave a message... Don't be fooled by them they are scammers and scum of the earth. Tell them nothing and don't even waste your breath or money ringing them back.They don't know the person at the other end of the phone and it could be some elderly person living on their own or a very sick person who could become very worried that there is a telegram waiting for someone....I don't know how they sleep at night these sort of people there are plenty of other jobs to had instead of harrassing complete strangers.

had lots of answerphone hang ups this week and wondered what it was.  Then this eve had a call from a South African guy not asking my name but just to confirm the address - being a cynical type I said no it wasn't the address he was looking for and hung up.  Did 1471 and got the 01252 576376.  typed it in google and found all the blogs, so am certainly forearmed now.  Have started email to warn those in my address book, would be good idea if others did the same - spread the word, its all we have!

Voice mail left on my work telephone asking to call and quote a reference number. Saying that they were a Telogram Office, a bit strange to me...

I got a note through my door this morning from a neighbour two doors up from me (a neighbour i have never met or spoken to). The note told me a Mr Cross had called looking for the resident of my address, there was a number to call him on and a reference number.  I called the company  back (which said it was a telegram company) the person they were looking for was someone i had never heard of. I explained that they do not live here and they went. My neighbour is elderly and I think it is incredibly rude to call them looking for someone at a totally different address, and to expect the elderly person to chase it up for them by writing and delivering letters to people they don't know. This company is underhand, surely their tactics are illegal!

I had a missed call from 01252 576376 today whilst out at work, as usual, I put the No into Whocallsme.com and found this info on them; I don't have any debts, so if they call me again, I'll give them a contact number for whoever they ask for; it'll be the local police station!!!

These guys must have access to some sort of de-funked debt list. But beware not to ring them, their number may be premium rate phone scam. I think they're hoping scared people with small debts, way in the past, get scared into settling some payment with them. check out the 'Statute Barred' advice in one of the comments above. I won't be paying them a penny, if they knock on my door, 'Ceaser' will see 'em off!!! ( a dirty big nasty rocky).

My old neighbour has just told me that somebody called their house and for them to confirm my name, and they said they had a package for me. and i was  to call 01252576376 REF 700A04,  after seeing this , page i now know that this is a scam.
