they have just phoned me with very vague details for me to confirm mine, guessing this was dodgy told them nothing . I am also on bt caller preference and they should not have been able to call me. they said they had mail for someone here and that my number had been given as a contact number - I dont believe that for one minute!!!

they are a real company, we too have had our neighbours come around to tell us people have called them twice now, asking if me and my partner live here, our neighbours thought it was weird, so they came to tell us, anyway this time thwy asked them for there number for us to call them, so i typed the number on the net and here i am.
we called the police who informed us if they have a registered number they are a compaby, so we called the number the police gave us and yes they are a registered number, no fraud, they are a debt recovery agency called capquest, who go through the telegrams office, the telegrams office are the ones who bother the neighbours. through capquest.
i received a ccj through the post this am from a company called capquest investments ltd, regarding my debt with jd williams, but then apparently capquest were after me for another debt with a mobile phone company. and this is why they called the neighbours, strange!!
they made out to my neighbours that we were some kind of illegal immigrnats and we felt very embarresed about this. as we are not criminals. just in some money bothers.
my neighbours have called the police to launch a harassment order, as the way they are contacting others is illegal.
we just called capquest and told them they are doing this illegally and they couldnt appologise enough. but its no good.
its really upset me that they search for people this way, the ccj i got tho from them, they somehow knew who i was then, but dont know who i am for a mobile bill, when  its the same company chasing 2 debts at the same address if you get me.

so if u get one too call them on the above number as they are registered but call the police forst if you are unsure if this is correct info or not, as i could be anyone, and if your like me, now, you wont trust anything you get in the post!!

They will try to trick you and scam you as much as they can. If you do have to answer, tell them you must only recieve communications through writing and if they call you again you will report them for breaking the telecommunications act.

oh and you MUST TELL THEM you RECORD ALL CALLS. And If you can, record the calls.

These people will make your life hell, you need to be prepared for these calls. They will call every family member you have to pester them about you. They continuously break the law. Record calls if you can. For further info search "Consumer Forums" on google. Trust me if your getting these calls you need the help.

Dont let them control  you, REFUSE to give personal information out, including your name.

received call today asking for someone of same name diff spelling. weird bloke. just the way he spoke made me google the number!! glad i did. DODGY PEOPLE DONT CALL THEM

They are still at it , called us asking about our neighbours.

Just had a call form these idiots, asked me to confirm my street name an went on to say something about a package for a neighbour.  I just hung up at that point. They called back a minute later but I just hung up again straight away.  The line they were using sounded bad and had a lot of crackle

I AM PROUD OF ALL OF YOU FOR NOT GIVING THEM ANY INFORMATION.SECONDLY IT'S ILLEGAL TO HOUND ANYONES NEIGHBOR!!!!!...JUST SO YOU ALL ARE AWARE OF THIS. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITIES ON THIS MATTER ASAP.

Called me just after 14:00 today (male, Scottish accent) wanting me to confirm whether particular individuals lived next door - said they had been trying to contact them to deliver some letters...clearly they hadn't tried very hard...  They didn't get the confirmation they wanted.

Just received a call from them asking about a neighbor... I didn't know who they were looking for so sent them on their way. I believe this will be a debt collection agency looking for someone - they try everything to catch up with them. This is not a scam - they would not leave a contact number, but for obvious reasons they have to say they are calling from somewhere else.

Got a letter this morning, also mentioning J D Williams (see 'mandie - 12 september' above) this letter also has a name and address of someone with the same name as me in Northampton.  Told them nothing except that I wasn't the person they wanted and knew nothing about the address in the letter. If they start to phone me they'll get a solicitors letter pdq!

Caller (Louise) asked about a lady in the same building but a different flat. I said that I did not know anything about her. Tried to phone back but were very evasive.

Call was made to my nebour asking weather i live next door and a spcial delivery is waiting for me.. Very doggy.. not sure what i can do about this call.. Any idea?

Just had them call a relatives neighbor who doesn't even know me. Googled the number and found this site.

This has to be illegal.

I had a call this afternoon asking for the son of my neighbour

Had a missed call from this number yesterday morning.
Needless to say I shall not be calling them back!

phoned a neibour 3 doors away said had a parcell for me gave a ref no so neibour came roaund and gave me details, feel theese scams should be stopped and wasters like this should be well should be burnt out of house and home

they phoned asking for someone else at a different address even though they told me my address!!! Weird..... Kept asking for this person and did I know they were at that other address....? What are they up to? Said they had a parcel to deliver and were a telecoms company (or did I get that wrong?) Shall definitely hang up another time...

Received a call this morning from 01252 576376 asking about my neighbours, gave wrong address and wrong christian name for the man but correct for his wife.
Said they had a letter to deliver, also asked if my neighbours had ever lived in London. When I told them to send the letter anyway they said they needed to be sure that it was the correct person at the correct address and then quickly ended the call

Just had a call from 01252 576376 asking if I had a contact number for one of my neighbours as they had a parcel to deliver to them!!  Thought it might be some sort of scam so didn't give out any details! Decided to look it up on Google and here I am!!

Just had a call from a South African guy, asking details about one of my neighbours. They claimed they're trying to deliver a parcel etc. etc. very similar to the comments above.
I rang the police who said that it's a scam.
