I had a call this afternoon from someone called Grant claiming to be from the Telegrams Office and wanting to get a message to a neighbour by Friday. Sounds like a lot of other ones on here. I googled telegrams office and found this and other threads so phoned them back and confronted them. I asked whether they were a debt collection agency, they denied it but said they send out mail on behalf of other clients and one of those was a debt collection agency. I told them I thought it was pretty low of them to try and get me to spy on my neighbours by making out they had something interesting for them. Luckily the person they were trying to contact has moved away so I didn't drop anyone in it as I don't have a forwarding address for them. Will definitely screen all future calls starting 01252 - 576... and warn others that they aren't who they try and get you to think they are. They said they got my number through BT and the electoral role.

They try to contact you via the electorial roll, If you or your partner are registered, They first try to get your phone no. Via your post code from google search if your no. is not on there they seam to always get through to elderly Neighbours. This i feel is wrong !! Sneaky way of working, Still Bailiffs are the scum of the earth anyway, Lower than Trafic Wardens.

The best thing to do with this lot of Tossers is to pick up the phone and put it down. It's all done by Computer.  Silent calls are illegal (ask Barclaycard who have just been fined 1.5 million pounds for the same crap) They reckon they are debt collectors.  If that was the case then go through the Court or come around to see you.  It's easy money for them.  If there is a debt let them prove it.  Also do as I have done and report them to the Police & Trading Standards.  What they are attempting to do is HARRASMENT and illegal, whether or not you owe any money. Oh, & I am willing to give my real name as they will see it quite a bit in Court

had a message passed from my elderly neighbour to call 01252 576376 - they said they could hardly understand the lady who asked if i lived next door & could they pass on a message for me to call them. they passed the message to me as I was leaving the house - luckily otherwise I would have called them back - I had time to think whilst I was driving & then decided to google the number - where I found this forum - I do not have any debts that they could be chasing and I am so annoyed that they contacted my neighbours - which will now be the gossip of the whole street as that is what they do all day! I have passed this number onto the council fraud investigators and if i do not get any where with them I will then contact Trading standards and the police - I do hope that not too many people have submitted to their devious calls as I know how much money debts can really have an affect on a persons life & health, I have seen my partner go through it.

Just had a call from this number asking about a neighbour, now deceased. They knew my name & phone number despite my number not being in the directory. Just seconds after putting the phone down I heard my upstairs neighbour's phone ringing. Coincidence? I think not...

Had a call from this number yesterday evening - glad I didn't answer it!

@QXL: Deceased neighbour? If they call back, without naming the place give them the number of your local cemetery.

we too had a neighbour come around saying 01252576376 rang her to ask her to pass that number on to her neighbour mrs patel who is our landlady to tell her that a delivery company has a parcel for her !!
so thats where when we came hear to check the number and since found out its a very dubious so called dept collection agency capquest also posing as the delivery company called telograms or even telegrams!!
we had previously had a card come through the door saying "we are doing an investigation into domestic services fraud! or such, and so can you please tell us the present occupants of the property!!
and before that had a simular one saying they was coming around on such a date so please ring the number to confirm someone will be in !!

all of this is total [***] as we dont owe anyone any money or any fraud and if our landlady had dept or fraud then that dept collection company should find her at her new propper address and not bother us or even worse still our neighbours !!!!!!!

my advice is don't bother to waste your time or money ringing 01252576376
back at all if you should get a message through the post or from a neighbour and especialy not from your own phone as the will probly harass you even more as seems to be the case taking a look through this forum !!

I have received 2 letters from this company, 1 being they r going to take me to court. Didn't owe any money to any one.Should i contact them?

OMG, I googled this earlier today after thinking the letter didnt look right and couldnt find a thing. So I called and like what now I feel like a fool confirmed that I was me but explained it was a correspondance address, whats likely to happen now, what do i need to prepare myself for~?

Calling us (obviously using an old directory listing as we have been ex-directory for a number of years) demanding information about a neighbour

Had a missed call on my phone, didn't recognise the number but reading other peoples logs and forums it's a company called Telogram Ltd. Checked them out on www.companieshouse.gov.uk Reg office is:

Get every one to telphone their office putting 141 in front of their number and ask for Tom Musgrave telling the operator/receptionist its a personal call; then give him a piece of your mind!

Similar to the rest - an Asian lady saying that she works for Telogram and has an urgent message for a person who lived here over 3 years ago.  We have also had some final warning debt letters for the same person, so I guess the debt has been sold-on to Telogram to chase.

Just received a call from these people who wanted me to contact the neighbor living next door. I told them I did not know who the person was and they asked me to push a note through the door getting the person named to call them quoting a reference number. Presumed it was debt collectors looking for someone as this is not the first time something like this has happened, and putting the phone number in google found this thread. Will ignore it this time but if they call again they'll get a piece of my mind!

JUST RECIEVED TWO CALLS WITH-IN MINUTES.AS I DID'NT RECOGNISE THE NUMBER I DIDN'T ANSWER.AFTER LOGGING ONTO THIS SITE, IM BLOODY READY FOR THEM.I DONT KNOW HOW THEY GOT MY NO AS IM EX DIRECTORY

Received 2 calls from Telegram asking about a neighbour - similar to above - and I thought it fishy.  I didn't recognise neighbour's name and said I would find out.  Then searched the internet about the name and found this forum.  Won't be responding to them now.

Just had Telogram calling asking for someone of my surname but wrong first name - they supposedly had a delivery and wanted to confirm address.  When I asked what address they had they said they had several possibilities.  Assume it was just a fishing trip through the phone directory so even if they get your full name correct they could still just be fishing for someone else of the same name.

My neighbour has just popped round and advised me that a number has just called her and asked if they could pass a message on to my partner, that he needs to call Kathy at the telegrams office....i called back and she was trying to get as much information as possible from me, i thankfully didnt give away anything, however when i asked her what it was regarding she said it was regarding some post that needed to be forwarded to him? Advised i would get him to call them back, after finding this i dont think we will bother x

TELOGRAM AKA CAPQUEST

again the same thing!! got a telogram for an unknown person at this address. called them to say we don't know who they are and don't recall them ever living here and now they keep ringing us asking for personal information. this is no means legit they can't do this it is wrong
