- Ted| 3 repliesGot a text from this number asking to call Becky Fuller. Quoting a ref. I havent paid my fitness first bill for a few monthd by cancelling direct debit. Will be moving soon. I dont appreciate being told to call by text message, how unprofessional. I did try calling back before looking at this site and the number didnt even ring, just cut me off.
- TedBy the way, debt recovery ask for your address for data protection, they will ask for your name address and date of birth, they have all these details in front of them from the company your in debt with but they need to confirm it. Dont ever tell them your date of birth, debt recovery write to you, if you call them from a letter that confirms you live at the address, ignore the letter and any calls.
- Jo replies to Shelly-JaneMAYBE YOU ARE WORKING FOR THAT COMPANY.
YOU NEED TO KNOW MORE AND MAYBE WELL UNDERSTAND.
THE ARE*** NO*** GOOD COMPANY. - Jo replies to Ted| 2 repliesThe company are so bad !!!!!
SCAMS - bob the builder replies to Jo| 1 replyYou lot make me laugh. If you dont want to get bullied by these people just pay your way like the rest of us. I spoke to CARS today and they told my that i have an outstanding balance for Fitness First and i called Fitness First and they confirmed it and then call CARS and paid. They oviously not a scam if there client back them up and the only reason they send text is because they dont leave voicemails because not everyone can listen to thier voicemails as they are charged on some networks. And about data protection they need to ask these questions so they kknow they are talking to the right person and dont say personal details about someone else to another person. SIMPLE PAY YOUR DEBTS AND THEY WILL BACK OFF!!!

- Anon.Be VERY careful with C.A.R.S.
They perform services like Silent Calling (when your phone does not ring but is connected) with premium rate lines to collect money. They also use SMS Billing as well, which current of 2012 is generally limited to £30 a week by most mobile services.
A friend got a letter through the post from them saying he owed them £170. It was from an insurance company that had been hounding him for months to pay for insurance on a car he didn't own or even know about (probably identity theft). A few months later he found £210 had been charged on his phone bill from a premium rate line, after a bit of investigation It was linked back to C.A.R.S.
Deal with them as soon as possible, if possible protect yourself by talking to a lawyer.- Caller: None.

I am consulting advice at this time as they agreed to assist me with my financial affairs. this is a final guidans on unfair business practices by the office of fair trading.passing on debtors details to debt management campanies withouth the debtors, informed prior consent.

- daisytuck replies to victimI don't have, and have never had, an account with LoveFilm. I've no idea who these people are. As far as I know, I have no debts at all. I'm getting a bit sick of these texts - 3 in as many days. Bearing in mind I work in a hospital, it's infuriating to keep receiving spam/crud texts. What else can I do to stop these people?
- daisytuck replies to bob the builderBob - I have no debts!!!!! I came in to some money and cleared ALL my debts.
You need to stop being so damned judgemental. Not everyone who has received these texts
(a) has a debt
(b) can get through to the number
(c) wants to be ripped off by scam artists. - daisytuckJust received one of these messages from the now infamous "Becky Fuller" asking me to call this number quoting reference blah blah blah.
I googled it to see what was thrown up... and this site came up.
I don't owe money, I have no debts. If these people need to get hold of me so urgently, why not ring me? And secondly, why are they still using a name for me that no longer exists??
Don't call them back.- Caller: C.A.R.S.

- PaulHad a text from these cretins today. Last dealt with them 4 years ago when they were chasing something I had already paid and could prove it - it was cancelled motor insurance which the insurer claimed I owed money on despite me being in possession of a bank statement and an email from their own customer services department proving it was paid off. When it got passed to C.A.R.S. they just would not listen until I sent an email to BBC Watchdog with them copied in!
Today, 4 years on they are now chasing the very same non-existent debt yet again! What does that tell you? To anyone sticking up for these idiots (they probably work for them!) - They DO chase non-existent debts, they claim to send letters when they don't and they do break several of the regulations in the way they operate. I've worked in the world of finance and lending and seen some real nasty, incompetent dimwits before but this lot take the gold medal for stupidity, arrogance and dishonesty. Don't engage in any conversation with them - they have absolutely no power as they are debt collectors, not bailiffs, not the law. Just people who relentlessly hound innocent individuals. If you genuinely owe money, speak to someone like CAB or CCCS - they'll tell you exactly how crooked companies like this are.- Caller: C.A.R.S

They have no power or rights to do what they do. Tell them you are reporting them to the police if they don't stop. If you do communicate with them do it only by writing or email so you have proof.

- dan1990scott@gmail.com| 2 repliesNothing like a good old fashioned prank call to put these people in their place.
Made a call to them possing as an old polite posh man (oh dear boy and all that) named Terrace Whitaker from the London metropolitan Police.
I said, 'i have you on the tracker there dear boy so no need to pull a fast one on me, ive been having a few complaints from people at this number, can i speak to your manager please.
Them, urm, urm ye sure...
Me: and his name there boy?
Therm: Ben Butley. (or buckly or something)
Me: and his real name?
Them: that is his real name.
Me: sure, not to worry put him on then chap
Them: Hi im Ben Butterly
Me: Good morning to you sir, my names.... from the.... ive been having a few complaints so on....
got an email address for complaints (joesephr@carsuk.org) probably false but oh well.
Me: also your company is called C.A.R.S is it not?
Them: yes
Me: excellent, while your there do you have a wishbone for a vauxhall nova?
Them: urm, were not that type of company...
Me: Not to worry i have the registartion plate no. or chassis number... (this went on for a while winding him up)
Them: okay if that is all, if you could send an email to us and we will...
Me: yes, yes, dear boy... oh... one more thing... If you could just go and [***] yourself for me that would be marvelous. huru.
I would encourage this kind of abuse, it can be very frustrating for dogdey sales people and can put them out of business if the constantly recieve these kind of calls.
No doubt these people create what is known in the industry as leads. If you give them your details they will simply sell them onto other companys and you will recieve endless call you dont want.
So, its simple... dont give them your deatls, just give them [***], because thats proven to be all they will give you.
Thank you and good night.- Caller: 01256306796

- Sheila replies to dan1990scott@gmail.com| 1 replyLoved your reply to C.A.R.S
I received a letter from them yesterday - forwarded from my old address opened in error, after all I did move from there 5 years ago!
They said they had traced me and confirmed my residency rhere and that I owed Talk Talk £195.83 and theyhad been authorised to proceed. I MUST FORWARD THE FULL AMOUNT IMMEDIATELY BY 1ST CLASS POST.
Failure to do so and they could instruct their local doorstep Collectio Agent to visit me or instruct their litigation specialist to commence legal action against me for breach of contract !!
I rang them in anger as I pay all my talk talk bills by direct debit and they said the dates involved were between 1/7/2010 to 26/10/11. The letter was signed Nathan OReilly, Recovery Specialist
I immedately informed TalkTalk who confirmed that I owed nothing and to ignore the letter and to inform them if I hear any more. I did make a thorough check of all my statements just to have evidence
I am 81 years old, forunately I have all my faculties and I would be sorry if this happened
to another elderly person who could not cope
So, cheers to you , well done - 123456 replies to SheilaSheila
Good for you, I used to know someone who despite being a nice enough bloke used to work for these cockroaches. They never send door step collectors, just letter after crumby letter so don't worry... :)
