Got a text message from C.A.R.S and rang them back having read the messages here.  Wouldnt confirm my address etc and a very arrogant male said ' we will resolve this today'  Dont know what there is to resolve so suggested that any further contact in the absence of them quoting a court order from C.A.R.S would be treated as harrasment,  Guy was getting quite bolshy so I hung up - how rude of me !!!!

Suggest anyone else that calls C.A.R.S does it through the operator and asks to reverse the charges - they wont take the call, but how upset are they going to get by all the calls from the operator ????

SAME MESSAGE CARS. THEYRE SAYING IVE GOT UP TO 450 POUNDS TO PAY BACK LOL. HAVENT BEEN GOIN TO THE GYM (FITNESS FIRST) FROM APRIL. I LEFT FOR MY COUNTRY A FEW MONTHS AGO AND NOT GOING TO PAY A PENNY. I have just had a txt msg on my mobile to call Lucy Palmer on above mentioned no "as a matter of urgency I suspect it is about my Fitness First membership but I will use letter detailed below coupled with the fact that a High Court judgement has just been passed ruling against such memberships!

No Lewis asking if your name is Lewis ***** isn't breaking the data protection act as what would have been learned by giving you that name other then Lewis ****** is someone's name. Don't get hung up on this just ignore it keep the text as fishing like this is in breach of legislation, I can't remember which one but it's about not informing someone for what reason they are contacting you, which Debt Recovery company's have to do, file a compliant via the office of fair trading, they have had to deal with this plenty of times with other company's and you can probably be sure that this one is owned by someone who has already been done.

The response from streaky (click link next to my name) is by far this best response to this company, then when you talk to them don't give them any information just enjoy an argument at there expense. GR8 ideal streaky.

I too received a text from them this morning - and lo they refused to give me any details about who they were until I had answered their questions, which I refused to do - still no idea what it is about - so not going there........ the road to Hell is this way - have a pleasant flight

I TO GOT A TEXT FROM C.A.R.S. AND JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE PEOPLE BUT IT WAS TOTALLY OT OF ORDER THE WAY THEY DO THING NOT NOING WHAT I WAS ALL ABOUT I`AM 50 WHAT IF IT WAS SOME-ONE OVER 60 AND ON THERE THEY MAY NOT NO WHO AND WHAT IT`S.DONT EVEN  THINK IT LEGAL TO DO THIS BY TEXT.

I also received a txt asking me to quote a reference and to give them my address,
I asked them who they were and the woman wouldnt tell me untill I had given her all
my details. I felt a little cautious with this and hung up giving her nothing.

I had one from the same lot saying to call a Becky Fuller. Glad I came on here! Stick it in the jaxi CARS x

Stop all communications to these people.  They are chancers that pray on the vunerability of people.  If they call again, just don't answer or hang up.  

As for sending someone around to your home, they probably won't as it is another tactic to get you to deal with them.  I would suggest sending the company a letter stating that you have not given authority for anyone to enter onto your premises an as such, anyone doing so will be dealt with by the legal route.  There is a template on this site (www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk) and it has an enormous ammount of information and guidance.

Finally,  don't let them get you down.  No matter how bad things seem, there is always a solution.

Last xmas my GF was in hospital, nearly died, of kidney failure and I forget to pay my water bill, so this lot got on my back. 60 measly quid. Constant calls 10 plus times a day, rude, agressive, threatening to add extra charges or take further action. Especially one woman with no humanity at all, she made it clear all she'd care about was their profit not people.

people are at CARS  are  just  doing  their jobs, they all left school with vry good qualifications  , i think people should just pay their dets and CARS will back off .!!

If you genuinely think anyone chooses to put themselves into trouble financially, then you live in cloud cuckoo land. No ones takes that decision willingly. Equally no one deserved to be hassled constantly by companies operating in the way that CARS does

Also on the subject of education. Firstly how would you know they have "good qualifactions" and also any chance you could back to school and learn to write English thats slighly more literate than a monkey.

In actual fact I have dealt with CARS I was in serious fiancial difficulties i had and still have a debt of over £2000 with them for my credit card and I am a mother who works full-time and so does my partner I explained this to CARS and they understood and offered settlements and still do every time I pay and they are letting me pay £10 per month. They are very understanding if you just co-operate with them they don't hassle you unless you refuse to pay or break your payment plan which to anyone is understandable. And GingerTom why don't you stop being a bully if you don't like CARS bullying you as you claim they are so they are just giving you what you do to people and you don't like it so GROW UP AND CO-OPERATE WITH CARS AND THEY WILL STOP HASSLING YOU [removed:lang]

I just got one of these texts.
I don;t owe anyone any money other than the bank for my mortgage.
I'm not badly off at all. I have a decent amount of savings in the bank.
I have no credit card debts. I'm lucky.

I also teach my kids that when they reach that point in their life where they have to get a job, make sure it is a job that contributes to society in a positive way. I couldn't lower myself to take a job that if I do it well leads to other's misery. Imagine going home to your family and when asked how your day went you answer, 'Great! Managed to make someone's life miserable today. Maybe I'll get a pay rise!'.  Maybe it's just me but I have a little more self respect than that.

If you are one of the people sending these texts, you may think what you are doing is 'just a job'. But why not stop and think what you are doing... Grow some self respect and quit and find something else to do that actually pushes you a few steps up the ladder away from the scum at the bottom.

Funnny listening to all this. People that dnt pay there bills make this counTry a poor place,calling people low because there clearing up your mess. Heres a thought paying your bills and they wont turn in to debt and you wouldnt get phone texts ect!

I got a message from CARS saying "call Becky Fuller" urgently quoting ref..... after reading these comments I dont think I will thanks haha :)
