I used to be a member with Fitness first and have tried for months to end my membership but they make it impossible.  It looks like they have now sold my details to a debt collection agency as I just got the call lucy palmer text message.

I refused to give my address as confirmation so the call ended.  I think I may have to drop by FF and have a chat.

gotta text from 01256306796 asking me to call lucy palmer urgently.  after discovering c.a.r.s. is a debt collection agency but having no debts I decided to call back anyway...queued for 20 mins and was then disconnected.what is goin on?

ooh my days..i just received a message form this lucy palmer asking me to call her about an existing debt. i decided to google them up and have seen all these messages. i thank God....are they scams for real? so wat is being done about them? they have to be stopped!

They are a debt recovery agency, I have had problems with them and seeked legal advise!

It was pointless as turns out the term and condition were correct and all texts, letter and calls CARS make are above board and approved by a court of law! They have the right to ring you 3 times aday, send you as many texts as they like and send 2 letters per month.
You should call them I set up a payment plan monthly and have stopped all further action.

They can effect your credit rating or send door collectors if you don't call them, this makes further charges and after so many day won't allow you to pay bit by bit!

Just grow a pair and call them, they are very helpful if you dispute is valid!!!

I'm sorry to step in but this company is legal! I have taken legal action against this company and found all they do is above legal!
Fait enough they work to recover debt and its a [***] job but someone has to do it! Otherwise we as britsh public will be paying yet again to recover business with our tax money!
Writing on here was you want all their employees shot are strong words, and you can be taken to court of. It you all have a problem then write to them once you have recived a letter or contact the client directly!

Cars don't even own the debt they just work on company's behalf so any action taken agaist you isn't by cars but by the client its self.
Cars are just doing there job so all just grow up and deal with it in a proffesional mannor!

I am another one who recieved the Lucy Palmer URGENT CARS text.
I understand the data protection act, but when they tell me to phone one number, then there's two different numbers on their suposed 'website' and then they phone me off from a MOBILE NUMBER it's not very professional is it? After finding out they are a debt collection agency I then in turn phoned all the people I have bills with (which is only two) one of them have told me I am up to date and to ring the police and one of them is LoveFilm. After speaking to a customer service advisor, she told me she is aware of the company CARS but they haven't told them anything to do with my account and I don't have any debts with LoveFilm, she then also told me to call the police.

My mum has also had problems with them. Aparently she hasn't paid for a Wedding Dress or part of a wedding party thing.... Now, my mum is 60 and happily married for about 30-odd years and I am no where near getting married myself. So who this 'Lucy Palmer' is definatly a HOAX do not trust them.

I have been in trouble with a debt collection agency before with O2, and trust me, this is NOT how a REAL debt collection agency go about it.

For starters the company wanting the debt eg. O2 will send you like a billion letters asking for you to pay. You should recieve a 'FINAL WRIITEN WARNING' to which in that letter they will say 'If you do not pay 'X' amount by this date we will have to resort to legal action.
THEN the debt collecting company will then send you a letter explaing that O2 have been in contact regarding your unpaid bill and could you please phone this number quoting this ref. to settle this matter blah blah blah.
IF THEN you still ignore them you will then start getting phone calls and txt messages.

Yes got the sam message this morning.  I have just cancelled my DD with Fitness First and my contract has finished.  What's it all about?

I have got a text from the lady named Lucy Palmer and ahas asked me to ring her and quote the ref no provided on it? What the he'll is this all? I am wpundering who the he'll this lady is and how did she got my no?

I received an urgent text message to call from Lucy Palmer urgently 01256 306979 from CARS. I ignore the text, but I then received another call from my landline at work - number 07714706196, when they asked for my name they hung up.  When i redialled - the number went through to CARS.

If they don't have your address and that you don't call them to confirm any details, surely they gonna have to drop it, no?

I keep getting texts and just had my first phonecall from them, the texts claim to be from Fitness First and are asking Aaron about his membership. I've NEVER had any membership with Fitness First, and my name isn't Aaron, so how come they have my mobile phone number? I'm on t mobile, so is this linked to someone selling our phone numbers to various companies?

Got a message from Lucy Palmer quoting a reference number asking me to call urgently, Got an ansaphone and put the phone down, since called me again but I missed the call

what was the outcome? did they contact you again? what email address did you send it to?

just had a text message off c.a.r.s  saying "could mr (my boyfirends name) please contact LUCY PALMER URGENTLY on 01256306797 quoting ref - 3642400 " .. how have some one got my number but my boyfriends name? .. its a pay as you go fone so no contracts involved!! .. dont owe money to anyone at all .. strange huh?
