I just got a text same as others.  I think mine is concerning a motor insurance policy with Elephant.  They gave me a quote for renewal which I rejected.  They then tried to bill me for £65 for cancelling.  Admin costs they said.  They aint getting a penny from me neither is David fookin Shaw.

I just got off the phone to this company, Guess ishould have checked the internet first!! - the person i spoke to was extremely cheeky and showed no sign of customer service skills at all. She kept saying under the data protection act she couldn't tell me what the call was about until I confirmed my details - surely under the Data protection act I should not have to tell them who I am until they confirm all the details I need to know!!

They did seem to be to genuine as the debt they were referring to did exist - it was with FITNESS FIRST. I owed them one months payment plus late fees totalling £49.95 - which I actually payed in the centre this morning!!

However during the phone call the girl told me that i owed (£249.95) the cheeky b**ch - If i had payed that extra £200 quid was going straight in her pocket! I am even more annoyed about the fact that Fitness First - who I have been a member with for over three years and this was the first missed payment would use such a lousy collection agency who treat their customers this way!

I am heading back to Fitness First now to inform them that when my contract runs out in 2 months I won't be renewing, and that I will be advising everyone I know in the area (which is quite a lot of people as I am the PE teacher in the local school) not to waste their money on people who really won't show the slighest bit of respect back.

that's my rant & rave over - My advice if you get one of these messages asking you to ring David Shaw quoting a refernece number ring them up and tell them to go F**K themselves!!

Just got a text from this number and David Shaw as the contact.  Strange thing is, "he" knew my name and the phone is registered in my OHs name.

Am glad I googled it and found this forum, I won't be calling it back.

Never had an acount with tiscali, and when I had an account with Lovefilm, it was in my maiden name and NEVER had this mobile number.

I had a call from an asian guy this number, and they left a message sayings its C.A.R.S and to ring Ben back. I've never registered with LoveFilm, though I often thought of doing. I owe zilch so no idea why they want to speak to me. Ive ignored it.

I just got a text message asking me to call Mr David Shaw and a reference number to quote.   I rang the number (witholding my own firstly) and someone said 'Hello Cars'. I thought this was a wind up. I do not have an account with Love Film or Tiscali - I did recently cancel my direct debit with BT because I couldn't pay it but I would rather hope that BT contact me directly rather than involve these scum.

Today i recieved a message from david , i rang him up and he invited me round for tea and biscuits. While we chatted i asked him why he was messaging so many people and what does he want. He got out his wallet and gave me a fifty pound note. I was taken back to say the least, i thought you wanted my money? i said.

I received a text from Mr David Shaw today, I also had a love film account months ago, don't think I'll be calling him back though as I see it as quite unprofessional really just receiving a text and nothing else. If he really wants to talk to me he can call me himself the lazy so and so. It probably cuts their call costs just sending texts so people call them back!

With all the scams that people get on their mobiles why would anybody really call a number back that only sent them a text asking them to call them first!

I too have received the text. I googled it also as caller ID showed up as - which looked pretty strange to me. Think it does have something to do with  Fitness First, they are horrific!

I received the text asking me to Urgently call Daid Shaw on this number and quoting a ref.
I had the lovefilm free trial in Jan but cancelled it at the start of Feb as they didn't send the films requiested too me after saying they had. Had no end of trouble with love film. I daily receive r-mails from Love film telling me there is a problem with my credit card and can i contact them. Have done this and now getting the texts from David Shaw

I just got the same message from 'Mr David Shaw' and also had a love film account. Glad I checked on here before calling...love film know where to contact me if they need me!!

Had a text from them.  Have a feeling what it's about and if it is then I will be exceedingly angry.  I joined a Fitness First about 2 years ago and there were so many problems with the accout I got very frustrated with them, when I tried to question them about it they told me they had no record of my membership.

Thought that was that and left.

2 Years later I get a text from this company, investigate the number (finding this place) and have just sent them an email to find out what the issue is about stating I can not call them.

I'm guessing they will not tell me over email which is their perogative.

I'm not surprised such a pathetic company like Fitness First is using such a pathetic company like 'David Shaw' to bullyboy people they want money out of.  Don't these companies have ANY ethical policies?
