Did they ask for you by name?  If so, and they ring again tell them to put in writing any information they have.  Tell them that, if they have your name, they must have your address.  Do not give them your address or any other information.  If they did not ask for you by name and they ring again, tell them you are not the person they are looking for and that any further calls will be reported to Trading Standards and the Information Commissioner's Office.

I think its to do with Bennett bike insurance, they renewed a policy  without telling me and passed my bank details to another company and when I found out I stopped the direct debit and called them ,they wonted me to pay for the cancelling.

Made several call to this number today to speak with Becky fuller 8 call 7 different reply either Becky fuller is the worlds best multi tasker or she doesn't exist after an hour on the phone got a company number after trying to fob me off with a po box address when I looked up there company number on company house it cam back as debt collectors in Hampshire credit link account recovery services

You're all [***] morons. It's not a scam, they are a legit debt collection agency and they have to ask for your address, postcode, etc because they need to VERIFY WHO YOU ARE. if your mate answers the phone and says they are you and then c.a.r.s tells them "ok well you're in this much debt" not only would the company get shut down but people will know all your personal business and details of your life! If you don't think you owe the debt then they can help you with that too as its THEIR JOBS but 99% of the time the companies they work for are right and if you actually know how contracts etc work then you would realise this haha. stop being stingy and aggressive with people just trying to work the 9-5 grind like you do, it makes you into a massive [***] of a person and they send these texts because not everyone can always answer their phone or listen to voicemails you dumb [***]

Just received what appears to be a very tired SMS from C.A.R.S telling me to contact Becky Fuller URGENTLY on 01256306797.  Thank god for all these posts!

I have also received calls, not answered them and they have not left any messages.  I'm not going to engage in any communication with these guys, but instead have reported them to the ICO (Information Commissions Office) the governing body for data protection (https://ico.org.uk) and to the Action Fraud, aka the police.

It's outrageous these people can get away with this.  Everyone that has had contact, make sure you report these charletons.

Also, make sure you register your phone numbers with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service).  Anyone that contacts you once you've registered will be breaking the law.

I'm guessing you work for CARS.......

Ive had over 30 emails from this company attempting to get £37.55 (the price changes by the email) for a  cancellation fee by Dial direct insurance, I dont mind paying the fee but do contest the £25 admin fee that is put on top, I cancelled on the 4th day of the month and they wanted the whole months payment, durrr no way Jose, I was only changing cars
I am in my 60s. everyone warns me about scammers and on line crooks.
The emails wanted me to visit a site, pay online by my credit card etc. I do not know these people, I'm certainly not going to give them money, plus my credit card details.
I phoned them giving the (my customer number) never been a customer with them in my life. they wanted to know my name, wifes name, address, phone number, my date of birth, my wifes date of birth, who I work for and a host of other questions, I refused as I do not want to divulge my personal details to a stranger on the phone, plus this has nothing to do with my wife or work, so why do they want these details? (to harrass them for the money?)
I just said that I will not divulge any personal details to them, the guy was extremely rude and said that they can come and take my belongings in payment for what is due (totally illegal) I told them to take me to court for the money told them that the conversation had been recorded, I stated they are to stop all correspondence with me and that if they continued I will take action for harrassment, not heared anything ffor almost 2 weeks now, hopefully they are gone, but not holding my breath

Received a sms message stating their number and my ref. Number, they said they want me to call. I've had no dealings with this company and it is very suspicious of them to text stating my name.
