Called today by 01313012940 (MORI?). Why in God's name are a market research company phoning before 10am on a Sunday, it's almost like they want to wind us up.

Why doesn't TPS cover market research calls? They are as much of a nuisance as sales calls!

I don't know who this is. Having read some of the other submissions on this site, I realise it's some sort of market research thing. I had an operation about 6 months ago, and sometimes it's still a little tricky for me to get to the phone in time. Have missed the call three times since last night, and every time I have dialled 1471, it is this number 01313012940. One call quite late last night, one early this morning, and again at lunchtime. I shouldn't be on a list, and have no wish to join one. Huh.

Buy Truecall - have had three calls today from these pests all calls rejected & zapped - no disturbance at all - how do I know I checked my online Truecall account - best investment I've made for years

Another nuisance call - don't they get it - I'm not interested and too busy for unwanted interruptions. I've got caller identity on my phone so I tend to ignore them.

Had a call to my mobile 11.30 this morning. Didn't recognise the number but phone was low on charge so couldn't pick it up. I had a similar call from another no. I searched last week so thought I'd check this today too. Thanks for the info. The other number was 02392 code btw (Hants). Also listed on a site like this. Always seems to be on a Sunday so far.

This number called my mobile, how did they get my mobile number, I never give to anyone other than family and friends. It must have been stolen from a computer or mobile, is nothing sacred any more?

Hi - this is MORI, a respectabale co. They also called me and were polite and had written beforehand and were ringing to check how I felt about a National Savings product which I'd had recently.  NS&I wrote first to introduce them and the researcher proved who she was by knowing about the letter from NS&I.  Not all 'cold callers' are evil!  But it's good to be aware...  I generally do not participate in cuistomer research surveys, except where it's a product I already am happy with.

    Hello Pete,

In reference to your recent comment, you say "We really don't want to pester people"; this very evening (11/07/2012) a very RUDE lady called me and gave me a very long winded and confusing intro. I asked what the call was about and when she explained I told her I do what she does for a living but more B2B and the calls are welcomed so I asked her politely to be removed from her dialling list. To which she responded "I do not have a list to get you removed from, I randomly dial numbers" then proceeded to hang up on me before I could say anything. Her bad attitude and rudeness made me more aware of how I speak to my customers on the phone, so for that, I thank the snotty [***]. Other than that I feel the staff there should learn how to be more professional and learn how to handle rejection, otherwise they're in the wrong business.

    Yours sincerely

Sam @ Market Makers. (Feel free to check us out... You may learn something)

Received many calls from this number, several times a day, evenings and weekends.  This is an intrusion into my privacy and is restricting my freedom to answer my telephone.  I see the number on caller display and do not answer; but it still feel like harassment.  No message is ever left by the caller.

This is Ipsos/Mori Market Research Edinburgh Office.  If you want them to stop 'phoning ring the number and tell them to remove your details from ALL their data lists.  The ALL is important as they 'phone for lots of different surveys and you need to get your details removed from all of them.  They are not a scam, or anything like that, just a pest.

ipsos mori do not take calls on the number they call you from. BUT their head of media relations can be contacted on 020 7347 3452. If you call him often enough and suggest that you will stop calling them after they stop calling you................

Their initial response is "its nothing to do with us, separate department" but carry on and eventually they will remove you from their database. People power !

Yep I had a call from this number today.  It is market research.  I said I would not take part and they where quite nice about it.  So the simple way is to say "I would prefer not to take part thank you and goodbye.

Unfortunately, your method only works for the particular survey they are conducting at the time.  Your details are still on their data base and you are likely to be 'phoned again for a different survey.  The only way to stop them 'phoning again is to go the Ipsos/Mori website, use the Contact us facility and tell them to remove your data from ALL their data bases.  This works.  I have also used it with the Kantar/TNS  Market Research company and, again, have never had another call.
