swinton car insurance, asked them to remove my number because ive alreayd purchased a policy from elsewhere

Got a missed call in the evening from 01422 249 611. Looked it up on line, as it appears to be a marketing type of number (not in my usual calling plan) and confirms to be that of Swinton/Collonade - (insurance ???) company's ???

I also got insurance quotes, but slected and where face to face, was given assurance that would not receive ANY marketing/sales calls.

Now this...

keeps calling my mobile and when I answer they hang up!!!  Its happen 4 times now and had 2 missed calls!!!

looked for insurance quotes on gocompare.com. I've had three missed calls, one of which was past 8oclock at night! not impressed!

This number calls me every week...  Never leaves a message and whenever I do answer there is never anyone there... WHY!!!!

I just called swinton after reading the comments on this page as I also have a policy with them, it is swinton calling and if you ring your local branch they will put an end to the calls for you.

I tried to get a quote from confused.com and this number called be about ten minutes after.

Advise BT you are receiving calls from this number and make a nuisance caller complaint. You should NOT have to ring Swinton to tell them to stop - they should not be ringing you in the first place, especially if you ticked "no marketing" etc on the form as I did.

Call swinton on 08451683770 and ask them to remove your number and slap their marketing company,  took 2 mins!

It's Swinton, I did a 141 and they said that if I didn't want any more calls to ring a number. Why should I pay to stop the 'kin calls?

I've been called three times a day for over a week.
How can these calls be stopped?
I'm on the Telephone Preferences list which doesn't stop them.
When I dialled the number I eventually got a reply but when I start to complain about nuisance calls in a polite way they hung up on me!

i recieved a call from this number at work, the guy said 'Swinton' and showed up  
at £3500 for a car worth £285, he recommended me to go to quinn direct or some other place due to the price being rediculous.

...what a useful website.  I have recieved several missed calls from this no. answered once and the line went dead.  I had just took out insurance from Swinton online when they started.  Good to know what was going on thanks to the feedback people have left.

Been calling me each day for a while. When you phone back a recorded message says to stop receiving calls phone: 01274 838 272...however, yet to get through to anyone on this number!!!

I have just been on line getting car quotes and with in a few mins i have recived two calls form this number with know one on the other line.

Isn't the web great ! On the phone to a car insurer, and this number comes up on call waiting. Put it into google and BANG ! - I now know it's a nuisance call. Fantastic ! Thanks everyone !

Got comparison website quotes months ago and only just getting the calls. I was usually answering them, but nothing at the end. How rude!!
Rang one of the numbers back, and was told to ring another number - at least it was a land line number and is therefore included in my mobile minutes. The number I rang was 01274 838272, left my name and number and request to stop calling me. Hope that is the end of it. Given that they rarely seem to know the name of the person they are calling then I guess it won't be a problem giving a false name.

Getting 3-4 calls a day from them. Think I may start answering & leaving the phone unattended.
