    To all Readers,

Please read and click link for video:

Will-writing scammer up to no good Gerald Barton down under.
By Andrew Penman on May 22, 2013 11:00 PM in Rogue traders

It was a delight to watch Gerald Barton, king of will-writing scams, squirm in front of the camera.

We first came across him in 2001 when he charged customers extra for secure storage of the wills he had drawn up, and then dumped 12,000 of them in a barn.

A later operation of his, Nationwide Legal Services, was put into compulsory liquidation in the High Court, which said it was scandalously run, and in 2008 Barton, 64, was banned from acting as a company director for 11 years.

Last year we warned that Barton had set up business in Australia.

He changed his name to Garry Lewis but the team on a television current affairs programme recognised him from the pictures that we've run.

"Garry Lewis, is that your name today?" began their reporter when they cornered "the debonair-looking English con man". That's Barton below in the blue suit and yellow tie.

    (GeraldBarton.jpg)

Barton scampered away, refusing to discuss his Australian Legal Consultancy which claimed that there was a fortune to be made from writing wills at $1,500 a pop - almost £1,000 - but first you had to pay him £6,500 to join his business.

The show branded the venture a fraud, saying it couldn't possibly work in a country where a lawyer will draw up a will for just $150.

"He is a scumbag," said one of his potential victims. The man is clearly a fine judge of character.

It wont be long until he pays for his crimes.

I was conned by National Legal Services many years ago as a franchisee. The fee then was about £7,000. I believe the main man then was Gerald Malcolm Barton. Is he now involved with Collective Legal Solutions? Do you by chance have his home address?

It is easy to see how you were conned Rod. Try reading things a little more diligently. It is stated and shown beyond any doubt EARLIER ON THIS PAGE that he is in Australia. I would be very surprised if that was the only time you have been 'conned'. You really do need to look at things a bit closer before jumping in.
(Thought I would help out and give some 'free advice' too KW. Hope I haven't stepped on your toes)

Smiley Face Thankyou for your comments

Maybe you should take your own advice, free or otherwise.

"Try reading things a little more diligently." (Your comment to Rod)

"How ironic that you have now directed everyone to information which states that the Trusts you have been denigrating are actually fit for purpose.
You didn't think that one through KW."

We replied with: Smiley face Thankyou for your comments we think you'll find that it's never been about the products and whether there fit for purpose, it has always been about the providers. Or the fact that they don't actually provide.

and by the way no toes damaged.

    Thankyou for reading.

To all Readers: Directors Andrew Young and Martin Smith have liquidated Express Law of Doncaster, relinquishing from all responsibilities to their clients. Beware as they have started new companies Synergy Legal which was Synergy Law. https://www.duedil.com/company/08294102/synergy-legal-limited
Albeit under the names of Kay Marie Morley and Robert Mosely who is a banned Solicitor. http://www.synergylegal.org.uk/  We can prove that they're spurned from Express Law, steer well clear of them.

Their head Consultant Andrew Hesketh has started Prestige Law also in Doncaster.

    Again steer well clear.

    Thankyou for reading.

In reality I was one of the 2000+ agents who were ripped of to the tune of £7000 by Barton and NLS. With the work I gave up and the money I put in to it to try to make it work I lost about £58000.

So don't dare give my crap about someone you don't know trying to be scary and being a hard man.

Wow, at last we know where Barton is. I  have it a relative of mine has just moved to Australia and I have a mate who lives in West Sydney too. I wonder if Gerry will be up for a pint when I go over next year.

I hope the Law soon catches up with him.

Hi Rod.  I was ripped off by Barton for £7000 too. As far as I am aware Barton has nothing to do with Collective Legal Solutions who started up as Dovedon when NLS were closed down. They are in the John Banner Building in Attercliffe Road in Sheffield. The same offices as NLS.

Chris Dingley who was a "Business Development" manager for Barton is a Director of the company and the other 3 directors worked for NLS.

    Good morning..........
I am another of the NLS franchise victims and although I have virtually given up on ever seeing my £6995.00 again, it would be somewhat satisfying to see the perpetrators of this scam finally being brought to justice.
Has any progress been made in recovering any of the monies? Also, are you aware of the involvement of a B.A.Roberts, legal consultant with a company called Inventory Solutions, who in July 2008 contacted me to tell me he was working on behalf of former NLS franchisees and had succeeded in securing several thousands of pounds in compensation?
         Regards,  Deksan

The people who paid by credit card were able get a refund from their card company. I think it was under  section 45. If you paid by any other way you have lost your money.

Oh yes, they are trying to set up new companies and con young girls to working for them on the phones. But more than that, con young girls to con old and vulnerable women to con them into buying services that cost a fraction of the price if they went to a local solicitor. Jazmine, Danielle, Natalie, Sarah, Jade, Louise and others who call unsuspecting potential client with their spiel spring to mind. They are trained by Andrew Hesketh [ex police officer, now convicted of criminal offences]. Seruoisly bad news and it wants to be spread far n wide

I used to work for them, it is all about the sell sell sell and the £ that the various people can make and far less about client care. Did you know, the sales people get treats like spa days and holidays if sales exceed expectations? Yes, they treat the workers well with their various sales incentives but quite honestly this is not about providing clients with a tailor made best solution for them. They sacked me cos I was about to open my mouth. I was not at all comfortable with all of this and to make matters worse, if the Director isn't at work, the workers do not get paid! Beware and check every detail carefully and be under no pressure to sign up is the best advice I can give to any prospective client. And what I would advise is that any prospective client [who in all honesty is likely to be advanced in years] is to have a trusted family member at the home appointment. And honestly, what this company claims to offer can be bought for far less cost on the high street with a local solicitor.

My advice would be to avoid Express Law, Synergy & Prestige Law, they are all the same kind of CON merchants ripping members of the public out of their hard earned money. As for giving their staff days out as incentives for ripping people off?? Do the staff actually get free spa days & holidays just for selling a lot?? I find that hard to believe...... They should be ASHAMED of themselves it a complete & utter disgrace!! It really is!! Saying that which silly old fools would use someone other than their solicitor for any legal documents?
