I also have received contact from these scumbags. They are in clear contravention of the requirements laid upon them in 2009 when they were pulled up by the OFT for unfair practices. This is a copy of the e-mail sent to Mr Paul Mackenzie's personal e-mail and to the complaints department earlier:

Dear Paul,

I have been contacted a number of times by representatives of your company regarding the above reference. Despite the fact that I have informed you in writing that I do not acknowledge the debt and the fact that the alleged debt is clearly statute barred under 1980 limitations act I have continued to be contacted. This is in direct contravention of the requirements imposed on Mackenzie Hall Ltd by the Office of Fair Trading on the 15th April 2009. In case you have forgotten these requirements I have attached a copy for your convenience.

I am writing to inform you that I intend to make a separate complaint to each of the following bodies regarding the actions of your company:

The Office of Fair Trading
The Credit Services Association
The Data Commissioner
The Financial Ombudsman Service

Also I wish to inform you that, should all contact from your company not cease and desist immediately, I will seek to take action against you for harassment under section 40 (1) of The Administration of Justice Act 1970. I am also considering the possibility of action under the Human Rights Act 1988 as it is my opinion that the actions of Mackenzie Hall are in contravention of the Right to Respect for Private and Family life enshrined in the Act.

I should also make you aware that ,as a result of this action by your company, I have decided to closely examine the behaviour of DCA's in my dissertation for the law degree I am due to complete next year. I will be very happy to share the findings of my research project with the bodies mentioned above and I shall be sure to send you a copy.

I spoke to these people. Be careful. They sound like cheats and just after your bank details.. Maybe they are some debt collection agency..but the thing is I have no debts!!!!. They are real bully.

i have never had a debt in my life never had a loan or bankcard ect.. these people are harassing my family of which i dont talk to nor live with i will get on to trading standard as they are scam artist. so who ever thinks they are not you must be an idiot. i think people should be carefull and not part with there money they will be brought to justist scummy people. who pray on vunerable. like i said they have no reason to contact me or try to get any money out of me as i dont have any debts dont drive dont even have a phone bill be carefull .

I HAVE RECEIVED A CALL FFROM THIS NUMBER, BUT THIS MESSAGE WAS FROM A NUMBER WHICH IS CLOSE BY TO WHERE I LIVE, WHERE I KNOW THERE ARE NO CALL CENTRES, BEING A VERY SMALL PLACE!!

DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED-AVOID THEM BY NOT ANSWERING, NOR GIVE ANY INFORMATION!!

Me too, Within 2 weeks of getting a new business phone number they were trying to call me.

The credit crunch is not due to that bob! at least find out what you are talking about before spouting rubbish on here, some people might believe your nonsense.

been getting answer phone messages from these people whilst i've been at work. googled the number and found all this. My landline was installed a year ago and is only used for broadband not phonecalls as i use my mobile for making calls. how did these people get hold of my UNLISTED number?? i shall be asking talktalk.

when i read on here that they are debt collectors, i paid £2 to equifax for a credit report just to make sure there wasn't some credit agreement i'd forgotten about but it all came back ok and i haven't had any calls or paperwork from other companies saying i owe anything to anyone! i can only assume mackenzie hall have been buying up phone numbers and are just trying to get dirt on people.

I wont be answering their calls and i never give out information to strangers. catch22 mackenzie hall. try leaving a message saying what your calling about.

I purchased a no-SIM phone and a new Vodafone SIM card (in new packaging!) from one of the leading UK supermarket chains.

That night, I was harassed by endless SMS's by Rockwell, who then sold it to MH!

The name of the person they were looking for I had never heard of! :-S

I have had 10 messages from these people MH on my text phone they wont leave me alone needless to say I don't answer them. How can I stop them, They are a scam.

My mobile used to be 'orange', I kept my number and changed to a sim-only contract with Vodaphone.

There are a number of people that are with Vodaphone that get mackensie hall debt collection calls.

Does Vodaphone sell customer details or are there customer lists hacked?

I have no debt nor will I answer these calls.

Just had another SMS they using this number aswel now 01563503822 thi is two numbers mh have told me to call in the last 5 mins

Had a 2 messages on my voice mail on Friday 24th May to contact Jason at Mackenzie Hall, so I phone them today on 25th May and asked how did they get my number my reply was "don't know" I asked what do you want from me and why I was told " we deal with private matters" I asked for my number to be withdrawn next time this happenes it will be a legal issue.

Constant voicemail on our landline number, asking for an unknown name and demanding we call them back or press 1

In the last week have had several messages on ans phone asking for someone who does not live at my residence to call them back quoting a ref number. They have also called from a local exchange number (01242) as well as 01563 exchange. Not called them back nor will I as i don't have any debts.

My mother got a call from them today asking for me or another person who is NO reashion to me... I have not even lived at the address for 9 years... When I contacted them they won't give me on idea of what they was wanting me for ad giving me information is breaking comidentuality but surly asking for them then asking about another name is

Not happy I have no Debt, ie, loans, credit cards or any kind of Debit and when you ring them they say its personal and wont discuss with you unless you give them your full name and address which I wouldn't give them. ( they should have this if there ringing me on an x directory land line number)

so don't know why there ringing. they just said its personal
